So have you ever tried to repair your computer/router/internet? Sure. We all have tried, but not all of us were successful. I find it funny that every now and then something goes wrong and I completely forget how to set up stupid IP address on a stupid router. Fine I give up. Who should I call for help? Should I try my Internet provider? Or a router manufacture? OK, whatever, I am going to try both. After an hour of «do it yourself» I move on to calling AT&T. Result: failed. Must call Linksys. Bleh. And here is where it all starts going downhill. You are so close to fixing this stupid connectivity issue, but the customer service in India tells you that you must pay $ 35 before he gives me any advice! WTF? What happened to us? It used to be so easy!!! Here is where I began to be rude and blunt. I REALLY don’t want to spend another hour on the phone with this stupid guy telling me what to do exactly step by step. Bleh!!! And here is also when I «accidentally» hang up before I give my credit card number. And here is when I call Barebones Networking to find a friendly advice on the spot and no charge before giving any advice. Easy, simple and convenient. They are nice and extremely helpful and even come over to fix everything for you! And it’s only going to take few minutes, plus a friendly smile and recommendation for the future. With that customer service you don’t feel mad giving your credit card number:) Next time some something else computer related breaks down on me again I am going to save my time and energy and call Barebones to come and fix it again. No more Indian customer service — support small businesses of California!!!

I found Bones(or Bones found me) via Craigslist when I posted an urgent ad to help me configure a RAID10 server. This was a server I built myself using parts that didn’t necessarily have the best support and documentation and I needed it to be operational ASAP. Bones and David gave me what I felt were honest answers — they knew what they were talking about and you never ever felt they were trying to sell you more than what you needed. They charged a fair price and constantly communicated with me throughout the day with how they were progressing. All in all, they got the sever running with a few hours to spare! I’m going to need some more hands on server and networking support in LA and these are the first(and only) guys I would go to.
