The people they have answering the phones should NOT be doing so. Rude rude RUDE! Had to repeat my order over and over and she still gave attitude about the order. Horrible customer service. Get it together people.

So My daughter wanted to try this place. I give her my card and say go get your food. My daughter came back and said«The lady said they don’t take these cards» what kind of card? She said credit cards. So I am set back and asked her again what did she say? She was told she couldn’t take it cause they don’t take those kind of cards. It’s a platinum business card WTF? I went in asked the another lady what was the problem with the card? She said nothing we take those and rang me up. My daughter is 6’0 and Goth. Is this why she was rejected? I’m disappointed. Sad really sad. Customers service was lacking here. So I asked my daughter did she say they don’t take debt here and she said yes. I said did she ask if you wanted to do credit? She said no. Again she should have asked instead of turning her away. Customers are very important. Never judge a book by the cover.

Not for me. A bit bland, just a cut above super market sushi. I had sushi bowl with side of shrimp nigiri and whitefish nigiri. Rice was bland, more like stuck-together-rice than sushi rice. Fish was barely discernable; one from another. This is cheap sushi and the experience reflects that. The ceramic dishes were nice and my sushi bowl had an actual mint leaf while the side dish had to settle for the plastic, picket fence decoration. As a cheap alternative to dining on a budget it’s different, but I don’t think any better, than Subway or McDs. And I didn’t have any bones in my fish, so that’s good.

Great food, good portions, at reasonable prices. Casual ambience. Love their #2 platter: Sesame chicken, tempura, salad, rice, miso soup and California rolls. Dinner and then lunch the next day!

For a fast food sushi place Sushi West is not bad! I had originally planned a three star rating, but I go there so much now it wouldn’t be fair to not give them 4 stars! Their sushi is pretty fresh and I always get the cooked salmon teriyaki to share with my daughter. We typically go for a combo — so we can mix and match. The salad dressing is good and the salad is fresh. You can opt for brown rice for a 50 cent upgrade. I always get my sauces on the side — even though it hasn’t been overwhelming in the past. Their tempura has always been really good — not too greasy and cooked just crispy enough. One thing I’ve recently discovered is their Udon! Really good when the weather gets cold. If you want to ramp it up you can get it with a 4 piece roll and tempura. So many options for combos that you can pretty much have anything you want. I’ve always gotten take out — but the plates they use for dine in look nice and platter-like. You can add a soda to your combos I believe for a dollar or so more. Service is decent. Only problem I’ve run into is when their register wasn’t accepting credit cards and I had to end up going somewhere else. It can get busy and kind of chaotic at times, too. And since they share a parking lot with Trader Joes it’s not always easy to find a spot. Hey, the place isn’t perfect. It’s affordable, quick, and fresh — exactly what I’m looking for in a takeout sushi place…

Sushi west’s curry is my favorite curry. It’s very hard to find a restaurant that has curry with tender chunks of veggies and meat in the same plate. Needless to say sushi west version is the only one I’ve seen that has veggies and meat in the same plate. It’s just the right amount of flavor. Not too salty like other places I’ve tried. Sushi is bomb. AND it’s fair pricing for portions that are a little on the hefty side. Food comes out in a timely manner. The combo plate deals here are amazeballs! Hands down this place doesn’t disappoint well maybe the service might be disappointing but I care less for service unless I’m dealing with rude service.

Work loves this place and I must admit that their salmon sashimi bowl with brown rice is my go-to when the gang decides on sushi for lunch. Definitely a run of the mill type of place, but it doesn’t fail! I did give them a mediocre review the first time I waltzed into this place, but I’ll give them another star for that salmon bowl I always end up buying. I’m sure I’ll order it again.

The sushi rolls are really good, the teriyaki chicken is great if you get the sesame chicken, but if you get the regular one, you’re going to get A LOT of fat that you have to pick threw. I’ll come back for the rolls and the good customer service, and I’ll either go somewhere else for my teriyaki chicken or just get the sesame chicken.

Sushi West is really a good deal. Their food is good and the prices are even better. I got the Pork Cutlet, Sesame Chicken and 6pc California Roll combo, with rice, salad and Miso Soup for under $ 10 bucks. What a bargain! The food is really good and fresh. I got there today(take out) at 11ish am, and there was no crowd yet. I’ve been there when there’s more people, they are all still very friendly and efficient. This is a real go to when you’re wanting some good food, great prices and you don’t have a lot of time… perfect!!!

Sushi West is an absolute gem in Bixby Knolls! I don’t know anywhere else around here where you can get a giant 3-item lunch combo for under $ 10. If you add a fountain drink or can of soda, it’s only one dollar more! The teriyaki chicken is a better choice over the sesame chicken in my opinion. The sesame chicken tasted a bit dry to me. The six piece California roll and tempura(two shrimp + two vegetable) were delicious too. I like that a side salad and miso soup come along with the meal. Salad was fresh and a nice change of pace from the other carbs on the plate. Miso soup was a disappointing; the soup was lukewarm and salty. But for $ 10/lunch place, I’ll choose to ignore the bad and continue coming back to Sushi West for some inexpensive quality eats.

This review is primarily for the customer service hence the 3 stars. One of the girls in the front taking and calling the orders could use some training in customer service. I mistakenly took two small cups of miso soup that were next to my order thinking they were mine. Minutes later after I had placed the cups at my table she shouts out from behind the counter«Ms! Those were not yours!» I quickly apologized, and after the incident thought she could have handled the situation differently. It’s not like it was a complete order and it was only miso soup! There was also no need to shout across the room. There were only two other patrons and she could have approached me in a more polite way. Geez! Other places give miso soup! Honest mistake. The food is pretty good for the price and portion size. I like their Dragon Roll.

Decently priced sushi place. Their bento box is a big steal for about $ 11! Service here is pretty decent. Although they don’t have high quality fish here, it’s not terrible. Definitely better than what you pay for, if that helps.

3.5 Star Quick sushi fix. This is my bf’s to-go spot. Prices are reasonable and good sized portions. We got the 2 item combo, which was big enough to share, and the spicy scallops roll. Order at the counter and wait for your number to be called. Good express sushi place for lunch. Definitely go with the the sesame chicken, similar to orange chicken, but not. Enjoy.

I visited Sushi West for the 2nd time as a re-visit and I’ve confirmed I really like this place. :) My only comment for improvement is that they take the combo plates with the salads served in them, and put the salad separate since it’s cold(and near warm food either gets the hot food cooler or as a salad goes from cold to warm) as well as all of the sauces and juices from the main courses gets into the salad, so it’s not quite as refreshing as it could be if served separately in another plate. Other than that one pet peeve of mine, and maybe I can ask for that upon request when I order next time, it’s a really awesome place to eat at. I love the diversity of the menu, which at times makes it harder to make a decision with so many delicious options, complicated by having 1, 2 or 3 item combos you can build yourself too. Parking was easy, and the area is nice.

Great portion size, my hubby and I shared the three item combination, which is around $ 11. The food is not by any means super delicious, but if you’re hungry it will fill you up. Also, I do like their California rolls. The place was fairly packed on a Sunday afternoon. The tables could be cleaner, I think. Great if you want Japanese food but don’t want it to break the bank. A-OK. 3.5 stars

A friend of mine and I stopped in Friday evening around 6:00PM during their dinner rush. Despite being quite crowded the service was efficient and friendly. We waited about 15 minutes total for the meal to be ready and were able to walk around at nearby establishments until it was done. My friend ordered a combo that totaled around $ 10.00 and it filled him up for the rest of the night. It included: California rolls, tempura, teriyaki chicken, rice, and salad. The restaurant itself is basically asian fast food. It’s very casual, loud, and bustling. No need to dress up. There’s plenty of indoor seating and a television off to the side by the sushi bar for individuals. Good for casual dates, families, and a group of friends looking to fill up before drinking. Bottom Line: If you want large portions and don’t mind spending between $ 8.00-$ 13.00 for fast food quality asian food, this is a good choice. Casual atmosphere, private parking lot, and shops near by to walk around for a bit. Also located directly next to a Trader Joe’s.

It’s not a straight up sushi place like Atun or I Luv Sushi, but it works well. The sushi itself I think is just OK but they do have quite a selection and you LOTS of options when ordering a combo. AA, BB, AB, AAB, ABB… what the heck… is this blood typing? Only real pain in the butt here is that it appears to be a shared lot with Trader Joe’s, so the best bet is park on Atlantic(I hang a U-turn at Burlinghall and park right out front). Call ahead because it does get busy… and it’s always nice to hop to the front of the line to pick up your order.

I’m really disappointed in this place. The presentation of the sushi rolls that I ordered were great, however the Aloha roll did not taste fresh or have any flavor at all. It just felt like I was just chewing on something squishy. The Volcanco roll smelled like a pile of ginger, but it did have more flavor than the Aloha roll. It was worth giving this place a shot since I always pass by it. Now I know that I will never crave sushi from this place the next time I pass by it.

This place has been around for forever. This is my go to place is I want some quick sushi and all my other sushi places are closed or I’m in the area shopping at Trader Joes or something. I get the same thing every time. I normally make my own plate that consists of SESAMECHICKEN, SPICYTUNAROLLS, CALIFORNIAROLLS, SALAD, ANDMISOSOUP. SEASMECHICKEN– Is very flavorful. It is always cooked perfectly, crispy on the outside and tender/juicy on the inside. SPICYTUNAROLL– is basic roll. The Tuna is pretty fresh and they don’t make it with too much rice which I like CALIFORNIAROLL– I don’t normally like california rolls but I do like the ones here. I think it has to do with them not making their sushi this with rice. SALAD– Very fresh, no wilted pieces. Comes with their own dressing thats pretty good and light, but I don’t like dressing so I never use it. MISOSOUP– is nice its not too salty but I would like more tofu and seaweed in the soup. Theres a private lot located in the plaza for all the businesses, but can get quite crowded during peak hours. They now take cards after a million years but there is a $ 10 minimum which is annoying because most items aren’t $ 10.

I’m always down to try a new sushi place. My co-worker lunch buddy and I try to go to lunch here and there since we have about the same hours and become famished about the same time. He LOVES sushi as much as I do so we set a date to go to lunch. We would have invited others but one HATES sushi and another one had just came back to work after having some sort of nasty tummy virus and couldn’t hold down anything except plain toast, tea and rice so he was out! The rest of the kids ran off somewhere to have fun without us! haha! We left a bit early to beat the lunch rush and as we were headed out I looked up «SUSHI» on you trusty Unilocal app to see what was near work and this place popped up. It had 4 starts, which is our min for trying out new places and it was REALLY close. SCORE! When we walked in there was only a couple other guest. We quickly figured out this place was more like a fast food sushi place than an actual restaurant. They have a large menu across the wall just behind the cash reg, and if that is NOTGOOD enough for you then there is also a large printed menu on the counter which has more options. They have a variety of bento boxes, tempura, and of course a variety of sushi rolls. We decided to get 3 different sushi rolls and something to drink to start and see if that would fill us up. Mr GQ Smooth is always working on the abs as he likes to drill in all our co-workers heads so he didn’t want to overdo it! I on the other hand seem to be fighting the chubbs so I was trying to watch it as well. We paid and got our drinks and went to find a seat near the window. They were SUPERBUSY with people calling in orders. I noticed that they do togo SUSHI in perfect little containers so calling in might work well if you have little time for lunch. They called our number and we went up to get our rolls. I got a side of ell sauce and they provided soy sauce on each table and ginger and wasabi came with our rolls. We stuck with the basic rolls since this was our first time here. And got spicy tuna, Philadelphia roll and a spider roll. We dug in right away and I must say it wasn’t bad at all! All the sushi tasted fresh even though it was sort of fast food-ish type place! The service is VERYFRIENDLY and PRETTYQUICK since they know you probably have to get back to work! Everything was NICE and CLEAN and they have a NICE set up so you can server yourself and get you chop sticks, fork, spoon, napkins, etc after you pay. VERYCONVENIENT. I will DEFINITELYKEEP this place on my short list for lunch places near work, especially since I can call in and get it to go. SCORE!
