Order the chicken teriyaki lunch special, now I have food poisoning. Chicken tasted like rubber not to mention they gave no teriyaki sauce. So disappointed. Not worth the wait at all!

I was so SHOCKEDINHORRIBLESERVICE. I waited 20 minutes till I walked out and there was one 3 other people in the room. 20 minutes to wait for a drink and still didn’t get nothing. Not even a «it’s coming«imagine how long I would have waited for one roll.

Only if I can give it no star! ! It was cold yesterday so I decided to stay in and order out. Finished my order for delivery. Got an email from EAT24 confirming my order. They gave an estimated delivery time 45 minutes to 60 minutes. It’s past an hour and I got an unrecognized number. I answered and it’s EAT24 customer service asked if I received my order. She also mentioned that the restaurant didn’t pick up their phone. She then asked if I want to continue to wait and I said might as well. Thirty minutes then passed. I message EAT24 and canceled the order. I used my credit card so I have to wait 5 days to be refunded. I went out and had In and Out burger. My advice for someone who want to eat at this restuarant. Dont! Obviously they don’t care about their customer.

The service was very quick, i was here for lunch for before they close. Salmon tempura roll was awesome and all the sauces were on point. Great place overall!

Ordered a Shrimp Tempura Roll from here to see how it compares to the weak example I got from RA. This roll was a step up from RA in the fact the tempura was crispy and had a nice bite. It wasnt my favorite version of the roll but it was good. As always, the staff is very nice here. Inside was nice and cool… perfect on a summer day. Ordered Mom her Mixed Tempura.

Authentic little sushi restaurant. Hidden gem in Bixby Knolls. Authentic style sushi restaurant. Fair prices, great selection of sake, delicious food. Try the spicy garlic edamame to start… so good! I went for lunch with my husband and we had the Hawaiian roll and the Dragon roll. Both were delicious. I cannot wait to go back to try more items on the menu, sushi, sashimi etc.

If you live in Bixby Knolls, your choices for sushi are scarce. You’ve got Atun on Atlantic, but think twice before heading over there. The best sushi house in Bixby Knolls is in a nondescript strip mall right next to Phil Trani’s Taki’s house offers delicious sushi, fresh fish, excellent service,(and Atun, by the way, does not even have decent service) and larger portions! So, run, don’t walk, to Taki’s if you’re in Bixby Knolls and in need of sushi!

We work right across the street from here. We had always thought this place was closed until we saw on Unilocal that it was open. So we gave it a try and have loved it ever since. We come here like every single day… literally! We always get takeout but one day will probably sit and eat here. Everyone is very nice and the place is very nice too! The sushi is delicious too!

Mas o menos. Not that great, but not horrible either. I’ve ordered take out here about twice. I live literally 0.7 miles away, but delivery always takes one hour. I guess I should stop being lazy and just go pick it up myself instead of sitting around waiting and starving. The first time I ordered, I got sake sashimi which was like 14 dollars. When my food arrived, there were only 4 pieces of salmon sashimi. Excuse me. Did I seriously just pay 14 dollars for FOURSLICES?! Hail no. Naturally, I was upset. I called the establishment and they said the next time I ordered, they’ll give me a discount or extra sashimi, so I let it slide. The rest of the food was pretty fresh. Nearly everything here has a creamy sauce or a spicy sauce or an eel sauce. After a while, it all starts to taste the same. The second time I ordered, I got sake sashimi again and this time there were 7 slices. I didn’t get any discount or extra sashimi. Still not sure if it’s worth 2 dollars per slice of sashimi. Overall, decent quality, meh on customer service. I haven’t actually been to the establishment, so I guess I’ll update if I actually go there!

This review is only from my «Order for Pick-up» experience. Was looking for a new sushi joint nearby for to-go order. I tried this place on a whim since the online ordering process was so easy and they have pretty good ratings. I usually order the Gyoza, Mixed Tempura, Taki’s House Roll, and Salmon Sushi and each time have been delicious! The fish to rice ratio for the nigiri is pretty good! At $ 4.50 for 2 pieces, I was hoping that they weren’t going to be dinky little leftover sushi pieces, and they did not disappoint. The service is always very friendly. They even gave us complimentary miso soups the last time I ordered for pick-up, which was a nice surprise. I only have a few minor gripes about this place. 1) Whenever I try to call them, I can’t get through. Their voicemail box is full and no one picks up the phone. 2) Parking isn’t always that great, but I’ve always been able to find parking in the tiny plaza. Overall, Taki’s is my new go-to place for sushi.

If you want sushi fast and cheap, definitely come to Taki’s. But don’t expect high quality. I’ve had Taki’s on 2 occasions and had multiple dishes, and each time the fish just doesn’t taste as fresh as other restaurants. Tuna Poke — Definitely not real pieces of tuna, or maybe this was a different kind of tuna, because pieces of the fish were orange instead of deep red like bluefin tuna. Chirashi bowl — One of the mackerel pieces was super fishy and salty. It tasted a bit old. Also the tuna wasn’t very fresh, looked a bit dry. Baked Spicy Salmon Roll — This is the item I like the most, Very fatty and delicious. If you want something heavy and drenched in mayo, get this! Seaweed Salad — Pretty tasty!

I read a lot of reviews about bad and/or rude service and long wait times. We didn’t experience any of this on our visit. We were seated right away and our server was extremely cheerful and friendly. We both got chirashi bowls. The fish was decent, but I didn’t like everything we were served. There was some sort of really fishy fish, maybe mackerel, that turned me off, and some pickled items. I’m not used to having these in a fresh fish bowl. The food was alright, but I’m not sure if I’d order the same thing for the price we paid.

Just had lunch there with a colleague, it was superb. Order: poki with seaweed salad, Edamame with garlic, and veggie roll. Poki salad: seaweed salad was crisp and refreshing, the poki was very fresh and the flavor profiles and balance were spot on. Garlic Edamame: steamed/boiled with soy sauce and garlic … Served warm enough said great starter. Veggie roll: they added mango which was delightful and unexpected but worked well. Also received a surprise dessert of green tea ice cream with drizzle of chocolate and it was served with a really cute micro spoon! Definitely a new lunch spot. Great customer service, and a nice atmosphere. Will be here again and often.

So this is the third time in a roll I come here. I’m not a long beach native, but found this place near by my job site. I’m glad I did find this little hidden treasure. The fish has been fresh every time. The rolls are not heavy like the many fusion ones out there. The chef keeps a great balance between traditional and innovative. I’ve had their Rock and Roll sushi and I’ve been coming back for more. The staff is above friendly and attentive. I’m tempted to come hang out here on weekends from LA. To the staff of Taki’s Sushi: Domo Arigato!

Miso soup is soooo good, full of flavor and it has a lot of tofu. Taki house roll is excellent! The chef uses high quality fish, it literally melts in Ur mouth, so good. Their eel sauce is excellent too! Lobster crunch roll was excellent as well, the flavor was great and they give u so much pieces of deep fried lobster, if u love lobster u can’t complain! For the yakisoba, my son absolutely loved we ordered it with grilled chicken and no vegetables, it’s like a chow mein bowl with meat and a lil bit of rice at the bottom! He loved it. Now the staff, they were so nice, so friendly, helpful and knowledgable about the sushi! I would definitely return or next time I’ll try delivery! Thank you guys for a great experience!

Who would have known? I’m telling you right now… Taki’s House is my go to sushi heaven. It’s located in a plaza between Wardlow and 36th St. When you walk in you notice the décor. The servers are very welcoming and attentive too. Upon ordering my food, it all came out in a timely manner. The food looked delectable and tantalizing. A divine succulent work of art! I couldn’t wait to dig in, thusly no photos. My must have list: Monkey Balls appetizer — Deep fried mushroom caps stuffed with spicy crabmeat and cream cheese. Topped with eel and spicy cream sauce. Taki’s House Roll — Crab meat, cucumber, avocado and tempura shrimp inside with fresh salmon and tempura flakes with eel and cream sauce on top. Crunch Scallop Roll — Lightly fried scallops served on top of a spicy California roll. Rock and Roll —(No Rice) I’ve been looking for this everywhere. It’s wrapped with a cucumber instead of seaweed. An assortment of fish, radish, sprouts and kobo with ponzu and sesame ginger sauce. A couple of other items I noticed — Chirashi bowl, Bento boxes, Teriyaki plates, and Teppanyaki specials. I was told they will be having free specials throughout the week that includes free edamame, miso soup, hot tea and serve yourself Sangria! Our table was even hooked up with a huge mound of free green tea ice cream with chocolate and strawberry sauce. Thanks Taki’s House, we for sure will be back!
