Although we waited almost an hour for our food it was delicious. We had the Superbowl. To compensate us for our wait they gave us miso soup and salad. The miso salad dressing was delicious also.

Came here for ramen because there’s none to be found in DTLB gotta say I feel the noodles could’ve been better the dish screams bland so why 5 stars you ask? 3 reasons. 1. It’s actual ramen which I can’t find anywhere near me. 2. Happy hour, can you say $ 2 Sapporo $ 7for a 60oz pitcher. Not to mention BIGHH rolls 4 – 6 $ 3. Amazing customer service, my first time here and Denice helped me with all my annoying questions and was super helpful! Gotta say this place is killing it ignore the haters and come for Happy Hour!

A nice place when you’re on the Long Beach area. I’m not down there too often, but I grab lunch there from time to time. I usually get the chicken teriyaki meal, which came with rice, noodles, and miso soup. The chicken is cooked just right, and for the amount that you pay it’s definitely a steal.

The best Japanese restaurant in Bixby knolls area of Long Beach. I have been going to the restaurant since 1986. Other Japanese restaurants had opened up on atlantic blvd but this place serves high quality ingredients. No hormones chicken, healthy oil for their tempura. I love their salmon bowl sushi, sukiyaki bowl, daily lunch sushi rolls etc. The staff are friendly and restaurant is clean. I travel to Japan to enjoy Japanese food so I have high standards when choosing a Japanese restaurant. Keep up the good work, chef!

I usually order the Ramen with chashu and egg. It wouldn’t be my first choice for ramen spot but it is tasty and satisfying. I eat here when I cannot drive outside of Long Beach.

We were coming home from Los Angeles and my lovely wife suggested we stop at Bamboo Teri House. This was a ‘go to’ take out place when she used to work in the area. We got lucky and parked right at the front door. We had to grab a menu and were told to find a table and then place your order at the counter… hmmm, not liking this. We ordered the egg roll appetizer, a house salad, and two combination plates consisting of Chicken Teriyaki and Shrimp Tempura. An order of salmon sushi rounded our order. They have a self serve soda fountain for drinks. You pay right after you’ve placed your order and they do take credit cards. We went back to our seats and it did not take long for our selections to be brought to our table. The young server gave us forks, but there are chopsticks at the table if you wish to use them. The crunchy egg rolls came with a spicy sambal type ginger sauce. The salmon was a good cut over an equal amount of sushi vinegar rice. The plates come with a bowl of warm white steamed rice and long noodles on the side. The noodles were ok, no wow! But, the Teri sauce with the Chicken was outstanding! The tempura came with small pieces of zucchini and nondescript veggie and two battered shrimp. Pretty standard fare tempura. I did enjoy the lunch because of the Chicken and Teriyaki sauce and the crunchy egg rolls with the spicy dip. They have an extensive menu, and should we be back in the area, we would not hesitate a return visit.

This place is by far the best quality tasting food you can get for very reasonable prices. I think they should charge more for the amount they give!!! I’m from Hawaii where our food is always fresh and top notch. When I come to Cali I always make it a point to stop by bamboo teri because the food is awesome and it reminds me of home. Also the servers and waitstaff are very attentive and on point. It is a family owned establishment that has been around for a while I have been told and they put a lot of care into the food!!! And you can taste it!

Had their California Rolls & Chicken Teriyaki and I LOVED it! Definitely coming back for more! The people working here are very friendly and will answer any questions you have regarding their food. They have many in house specials you might to read before you order. The place inside is really cute, very colorful, and clean. I’m totally a new customer for years to come.

Why do I keep giving this place 2nd chances?!? The food is ok(except for the ramen which is super salty). What really irks me is the service & the wait. They always seem to be overwhelmed even when there aren’t a lot of people eating. Once I ordered food over the phone, came when the told me to come, and still had to wait another 10+ minutes. Another time I went in to grab something fast & was told it would take 15 minutes to get a simple California roll. This place is just not worth it.

Herro! This place is not authentic but it’s still really tasty. Huge portion sizes for the curry plates are great since I share my food with a voracious two year old. This is my go to place for when I haven’t made my way to the grocery market.

We love coming for Tempura Tuesday! I am a fan of the combo with sesame chicken and a spicy tuna roll, and we order shrimp and assorted veggie tempura at special prices. Not a high end sushi bar but a great place for good Japanese at reasonable prices. Nice people working there, friendly service.

Great find in my neighborhood. I had the dinner special that comes with a little of everything. I enjoyed the teriyaki chicken and tempura shrimp and veggies the most. I was not a fan of their california rolls but their ramen noodle soup was tasty. I think i’ll be back here soon.

This place is the closest japanese restaurant next to my house within walking distance. The inside of the restaurant seems cozy and have some japanese themed decorations it wonderful to enjoy a night out with friends. I like it when they have discount deals on sushi because they’re decent. Shrimp sushi are good, I also enjoy their ramen bowls despite its not great but good enough.

Great place for teriyaki chicken bowls! I always get the Super Bowl which comes with teriyaki chicken, 1 piece of sesame chicken, 1 pc gyoza, 1 shrimp tempura, and 1 veggie tempura. However, it’s a little pricey at $ 8. This place also gets really packed during lunch time so be prepared to wait at least 30 mins to 40 minutes for your order. Who has time to wait that long during a lunch break? They do deliver but make sure you call ahead of time since large orders can take 1 to 2 hours for delivery. It’s a shame because I would order more often if it didn’t take so long!

Bamboo Teri House fails to impress me with their low quality Japanese food fare. Udon noodle soup tasted like it was made with instant dashi stock. The yakisoba noodles were greasy too and lacking flavor. California roll broke apart easily. This is japanese fast food served at premium prices, no thanks.

We went there with the Supper Club group. I have lived in LB since 1980 and this was my first visit to the Bamboo Teri House… thanks to the Bixby Knolls Bus Assoc, I had chx teriyaki & tempura. The tempura was my fav really good. The décor inside is so cute and the place is sparkly clean. Gracious owners/hosts.

Folks, we need to establish the fact that this restaurant is NOT the place to dine if you’re looking for sushi, sashimi, or authentic Japanese food for that matter. Now that we got that straight, let me tell you why I AM A FAN of this place! Located on Atlantic Blvd in Bixby Knolls, this place offers its patron«better than good» teriyaki type dishes. They have a daily special. They also offer 2 and 3-item combos. For the healthier folks, you can ask for brown rice for an additional fee. Parking can be difficult any day of the week because the restaurant shares a parking lot with other businesses. Parking on the street seemed a lot easier(and faster) for us on a Friday afternoon. This place looks smaller from the outside. Once you’re inside, the place opens up quite a bit. Lots of seating for four, and if you come with a group, you can put a few tables together. This place offers NO wait service, so you are on your own. Order up front from one of two registers. Daily specials are displayed right up front — even with the words NOSUBSTITUTION written boldly. Here is what I ordered for lunch. 2-item Combo with chow mein and upgraded brown rice with: 1) Sesame Chicken. Decent chunks of chicken, breaded and deep fried. Not overcooked at all. Kind of resembles chicken karrage. Not a huge portion, but what you would expect portion size for a 2-item combo. Came out hot. Tasted even better with a little katsu dipping sauce. 2) Chicken Katsu. Small piece of chicken breast. Probably around 3oz of breast flattened, breaded and deep fried. I think they could have done a better prep job because the panko(breading) was falling off a bit. Not over cooked. Tasted good. IMO, this place is a nice lunch spot. Get here early to deal with the potential parking situation. It’s not gourmet, but better than a lot of other lunch spots in the Bixby Knolls area. Would recommend to all, and I would definitely come back. Enjoy!

BAMBOOTERIHOUSE I think NOT… Actually I know NOT! I don’t need to think about anything because I am quite certain I my lunch SUCKED! I had this lace bookmarked for a minute. I pass by it some mornings on my way to work and thought hmmm I should give that place a try! Well I was as wrong as a $ 3 bill. When I had a moment I went online and checkout some reviews. I noticed a Unilocal peep I know had been there but her visit was boarder line eons ago but I figured I would still go for it! Not only that other peeps had given this place some O.K. reviews. I decided to take a relaxing lunch and drive over and I even thought I get some reading in at lunch time. Just a NICE relaxing uninterrupted lunch with me, myself, and I! I was a bit thrown off that this place was pretty empty for the lunch rush hours but brushed it off and decided to move forward and order anyway. Plus I really didn’t want to have to THNIKUP another place to go. I got the lunch special that seemed to be the rage in most of the reviews I read and it had a little bit of everything so I figured it would give me a GOOD idea about this place. It came with chicken teriyaki over rice, 2 Calif Rolls, 1 piece of sesame chicken, one egg roll, 1 gyoza, and noodles for $ 6.99 plus tax. I was going to substitute the noodles but it Lunch Special sign clearly stated«NOSUBSTITUTIONS». So I added on a sumiyaki salad that had 4 little cucumbers on it and I got a bottle of unsweetened oolong tea I have not seen since I was in China plus I haven’t been looking. I was given a number and went to take a seat and wait for my food. Since it was practically empty in there it was quiet so I was able to read a bit. They had the TV on for the US Open but it was low enough that it didn’t disturbed me. A short time later the sumiyaki arrived. I was bummed because I forgot my own chop sticks and I can be a bit of a chop stick snob, but I sucked it up. I tried the sumiyaki and it wasn’t all that. I usually can’t stop eating it but I didn’t seem to have that problem here. A few minutes later my food arrived and a commenced to digging in. The teriyaki chicken had a bit too much teriyaki on it for my taste but the chicken was moist and tasted ok. I had a smiggy-bit of the rice and it was rice. Steamed to perfection and NOT crunchy. WILLNOT be going back
