We have an unusual door, and the lock mechanism broke. We called the 2 top-​rated locksmiths on Unilocal,and 1 top-​rated locksmith from Angie’s List (Embassy).
The 2 top-​rated Unilocal locksmiths were nice, but made clear that they had no experience with this type of door/​lock. They only said that it would be very expensive no matter what (like the 1000-​and-​up range).
When we called Mike at Embassy, he was familiar with the style of lock. We booked an appointment and he came to take a look. From the start, he was very courteous and personable, and his deep knowledge about all kinds of doors and locks was apparent. He assessed and explained how the inner workings of this unique door worked without having to take it apart (which the competing company said they’d have to do after we sent them photos).
After investigating more, Mike discovered a way to repair the door with minimal effort. Thankfully it didn’t require a replacement or extensive work that would’ve cost a fortune. Instead it cost us less than $ 80 (and he didn’t even want to charge that since it was so easy, but we insisted on paying him for his time).
Mike has very quickly become a new go-​to guy for us. Hopefully we won’t need a locksmith very often, but he’s the guy when we do. Locksmiths in NYC can be very hit or miss (mostly miss, i.e. shady, dishonest) so finding a good one is like striking gold. Thank you, Mike!

I found this company on Unilocal.I had search for numerous company that would be able to assist me with my broken front door lock. The several i had called were either to expensive, or charged for just for coming in to look at job, even if i did not agree. I came across embassy locksmith and they immediately responded to my home, changed my lock at a reasonable fee. Michael the person that came to do the job was very professional, and cordial. He was very handy. I will definitely be using their services in the near future. I highly recommend this company
