This is definitely your average Starbucks with one exception: the staff is not well informed about the refill policy. My first round of a drink was a Frappacino and once I finished it, I went to the bar to redeem a free iced coffee refill as a gold member. The barista did not know that I was«eligible for free refills on brewed or iced coffee or tea beverages of the same size(some restrictions apply), regardless of the original beverage purchased». She was very adamant that because I had ordered a Frappacino as my original drink, I couldn’t get a refill. She eventually called another employee over, who was equally misinformed about the policy. I tried to explain their corporate policy and how it exists at all other locations, but they kept looking at me incredulously. Eventually, they ended up giving me the free refill but with the attitude that I had created this policy rather than Starbucks corporate. I have received excellent customer service at other locations and was disappointed to find out that my experience here broke that trend.

I have been in Texas. for over a week, everyday i got my morning cup of coffee from this Starbucks, I love there customer service, they were training a new girl and it went so smooth, not like in Cali where I get oh sorry she is training. I’m leaving today to go home and the Manager was super kind and threw in a add shot, thank you all I will miss you Texas. The football grandmother HBU

It’s in a central location in the Med Center, so it can get really busy at times. I’ve always found the service fast and friendly.

Love this Starbucks. I work in med center so I come here a lot. The staff is super friendly and seem to always remember my order. Very clean. It can get busy here but the staff are quick and efficient.

I’m not here often since my workplace is off the Texas Medical Center campus, but when I’m in the TMC, I always pass by here for my caffeine fix. The staff is nicer compared to other freestanding Starbucks; they’re understanding when you need a little time to order. As for the prices, it’s Starbucks, what do you expect?

I frequent this Starbucks because I go to school at TWU, which is just down the street. I usually need a kick of caffeine, black tea lemonade, or pastry after a long day at school. The line is usually to the door during lunch hours or happy hour half price frap days or other specials because of the location. Although there are several Starbucks in the Texas Medical Center, this location is an actual store. Sometimes the little cafes that sell Starbucks don’t honor the Starbucks specials that are going on, or you can’t earn stars through your Starbucks gift card app. Since this location is so busy, I do not recommend trying to study here. I see people on their laptops or with their books and headphones, but it’s just too loud. People are always coming and going, which can be distracting.

I am a huge fan of Starbucks and have been a gold member for years. That being said, I may be a bit critical in my review. LOCATION: This location is generally busy throughout the day. There are normal rushes that come after lunch, during the middle of the afternoon, and definitely on days where there is a special going on for members. That being said, usual wait time is not very long. AMBIANCE: There are almost always chairs and tables that you can find. Most of the customers take their drinks to-go, so it’s usually not a problem to find seating. The location could use a couple of things to freshen it up but it’s not a big deal. The bathroom is spacious and cleaned often if you had a concern. BARISTAS: Generally nice. There’s one barista who has made my drink incorrectly more than once. I asked for it to be remade on two different occasions. He seemed annoyed and now I’ll just take my wrongly made drink and scarf it down. I go there too often to make enemies with a barista. Besides him, everyone else on the team is really nice and sweet. WARNING: This location has a couple baristas who make drinks very sweet. I would recommend cutting down on the amount of sweetener used. I think they use very FULL pumps. DRINKS: My consistent favorite is a Tall Black Iced Coffee with one pump of sweetener(but at this location get ½ a pump). This combination brings out the nuttiness of the coffee and I find that I don’t need any milk or half and half. This is what I get 9⁄10 times I go to Starbucks. Plus, if you’re a member, you also get free refills on your iced coffee/tea drinks during the same visit! So yay more coffee! Overall, I would have given this place a 3.5÷5, but I go here too often and it has grown on me. To anyone else who knows their Starbucks, just lessen your sweetener and it’s a nice, convenient location in the Med Center.

Went to medical school here and now I’m doing residency. Honestly the only reason I keep coming to this location is bc it is so close. The baristas in the morning are GREAT. They make an extra effort to try and learn your name(even if it requires cheating off your ID badge). The biggest downfall is I think it gets too busy for its own good. If you’re in any hury to get anywhere. forget it. I can understand the wait in the morning when the crowd is out the door, but it seems like later in the day the quality/speed of service dwindles.

Yup, it’s a Starbucks — burnt coffee beans for the drip coffee, drinkable espresso drinks. Can wait for a while during work hours.

Coffee beans everywhere… if it ain’t about the caffeine then I just don’t care… Work and live in the Med Center and have to stop here every now and then for my fix. Never really blown-away or impressed with coffee or service here butttttt I always come back. I mean they sell the drug that makes the world go ’round…

This Starbucks NEVER seems to have a lull; I guess that is the«perks» of being in the med center. The line can be all the way to the door, but thankfully they are always fully staffed and orders come popping out very quickly. The physician I work for likes to buy drinks for the office on a weekly basis so we ALWAYS have a 12 – 15 drink list… no fret, no problems ever and the orders just keep coming out. They are very well organized and always pleasant regardless of how crazy it seems to get in there. This is the better Starbucks for our office as the one in our building is a kiosk and owned by the hotel. Whenever we need a bite to eat albeit a sandwich or protein boxes, this is the place to come to. The only tiny problem you may encounter from time to time is the occasional bum, but it is not a persistent issue either. There is plenty of seating and great lighting in here as well; and as every good Starbucks does, it also provides wi-fi.

Came in one day and the line was out the door. It went very quick, though, as the counter help and baristas are pros. But here’s the kicker… the entire crew is SO stinking friendly and truly(seem to) enjoy their jobs. The older gentleman who took my order was so friendly(«Welcome to Starbucks… how am I going to take your monies today???). Super friendly, fun and flirty with the ladies and everyone left the counter with a BIGOLE smile on their faces. Great job. Great Job. GREATJOB. Every starbucks new hire should spend some time in the location and take this vibe from this store and spread it around to their own store.

Great coffee but unfriendly staff. Usually Starbucks professionals are really eager to please and my attendant was very irritable.

With all my travels, this has been one of my favorite Starbucks to visit. The line may be scary during the morning rush but they are very efficient and I think it is Monique who is one of the friendliest baristas I have seen. If I worked in the area, I would be a regular because of their efficiency and customer service.

Probably the nicest cashier I’ve ever had the fortune to meet at a Starbucks! She calls everyone«darling» and is just a lovely personality. I’m not sure when she works(definitely Sunday mornings), but if you’re feeling down and need a coffee pick-me up, stop by here and get some great coffee and a smile to brighten up your day.

It’s a Starbucks, so you get what you expect from this coffee chain. This is in the middle of the Medical Center across from Methodist, TCH, and St. Lukes, so I expect many employees come here to get their coffee fix. I’ve only been during late afternoon, early evening times and it’s usually not busy at all. The baristas are always friendly and make small talk with you. I’ve never waited a long time to get my drink which is awesome. There is plenty of seating which usually is filled with people studying. This Starbucks also has a large selection of reserve coffees which interchange every so often. If you are into different coffee selections from around the world, this would satisfy your needs.

It’s Starbucks … Pretty much, it’s what you would expect from any other coffee chain. During early morning and late afternoon, it can get pretty busy as Med Center employees arrive/leave, so plan to wait up to 10−15min to get your caffeine fix. The employees here seem to be decently competent and friendly; I can’t complain.

This particular location is in the middle of the Medical Center, so it can get quite crowded during peak hours. For the most part, this is just a typical Starbucks. The drinks are decent(although extremely sweet, I always request fewer pumps than the standard recipe requires). My biggest complaint is that I once ordered a peppermint mocha in the winter, and it came out tasting like toothpaste. I couldn’t finish it because the minty-ness was way too strong. That was a bit unfortunate. But then I learned to ask them to tone down the syrup levels in my drinks, and it has been fine since.
