This is my tale about Chipotle. Chipotle was founded by a chef guy in Denver, CO in early 1990’s after he learned about tacos and(Mission-) burritos at Mission District, San Francisco. The first branch outside Denver, was in Kansas City. This Chipotle branch is located inside the endocardium of Texas Medical Center. This makes it one of the busiest Chipotle places. It happened that I have been to Houston, Kansas City, San Francisco and Denver. This branch brings back so many memories. The extra-long line and rambunctious atmosphere during rush hours, discussing nerdy scientific stuff with friends on Chipotle tables and the quiet and mellow nights were unforgettable. Used to come here not for the food, but for the friends get-together sort of thing. Chipotle is one of the icons in college life if you don’t get E. Coli or some GI virus. Here is a list of some chipotle places I’ve been to. 1– Denver: not the original branch, but one in Boulder. It was fantastic! 2– San Francisco. Anyways, in SF, you don’t need to eat at chain restaurants. 3– Bangor, Maine: their chicken is the best. 4– Kansas City: there is a great one by the plaza district. 5– Houston, TMC. Houston has generally amazing restaurants. 43% of the city is hispanic which allows for a rich hispanic cuisine; so it’s OK to peacefully get snobbish and picky about burritos here. For the quality of Houstonian restaurants, this branch needs work. Their chicken and meat are not as fresh and flavorful as the other branches. All the rest of the process are great and standard. P. S. South Park aren’t joking when they say showtimes you get diarrhea after Chipotle.

Great food and fast service, the only downfall is that it is always always jam packed. I wish they came up with a way to get the people in and out faster, specially during lunch time.

The staff was pretty nice. But once again, I hate inconsistency and on my latest visit, I felt like they gave a ton of rice, while skimping on the vegetables and I was getting a vegetable bowl so it was a little annoying. And what sucks more is that they skimped on the salsa too even though I asked for all three salsas! My chipotle bowl just did not taste right. Additionally, the table near the window that I sat at was continuously dripping water. However, the other few time I came, my experience was fine. And the location is conveniently located in the med center. Honestly, it’s location is the only reason I would consider going back.

It was OK, the food was good but I still think it’s overpriced. Overall I think I would go back.

Went here for dinner before my fiancés shift last week and(as always) everything was great! They were quick in line and generous with portions, not to mention it was clean. Chipotle is the standard for great food and consistency in the food industry.

Clearly there is no leadership here on the weekends. The staff is busy socializing and ignoring the long line of people waiting to order. They served one of the other staff and ignored the line. I had to ask to be served. My son got the kids tacos and the lady tried to charge us for the toppings– extra for lettuce, extra for salsa and extra for cheese… WHAT? It’s a taco… the toppings are always included. I’ve never had this experience at a Chipotle. Smh…

Fast and friendly service. I had the steak bowl and it was delicious! Word of caution: this place gets packed at lunchtime with a line out the door.

This Chipotle boasts a friendly staff who really seem to care about how clean the place is. So not only do you get a filling burrito for under $ 10 but you can enjoy it in a clean and comfortable setting despite being in the middle of the medical center. I came by for dinner and hung out for a while reading a book. There was always a few seats free. The burrito may not be quite as stuffed filled as bodegas but the proximity to the metro rail offsets that value, and it’s plenty enough as it is.

Always looking for a healthy fast option, I dropped into Chipotle hoping for a good tasting Mex with the upside of being able to control the ingredients Subway assembly line style. The options looked good. I went with a chicken bowl and added black beans(pinto beans also an option here), guac, salsa(nice selection of green tomatillo, red, and pico de gallo). I ditched the cheese and sour cream options and it looked like I was off to a fast, healthy start. The service was fast and friendly but what I found lacking was the heat. The food, fresh of the assembly line was really not hot — in fact the chicken and beans were just a little warm while the salsas and guac cooled them down even more. If I had added the cheese and sour cream, my dish might have been extra cold real fast. Chipotle offers a good idea for people on the go who want tasty, fast and healthy options, but the cold delivery of my chicken bowl is really just disappointing. I might try them again.

Horrible customer service for a chipotle. they are consistently cheap with their portions. I feel like I’m Oliver Twist in line, ‘more please?’

I’m not a huge fan of Chipotle, but working in the med center limits your options. I especially don’t like this location because of the high traffic during lunch. It’s always very crowded and loud. The staff does a good job at making the line go fast, but in doing so losses some quality. The quantity of the food in my burrito was very lacking and at times just thrown on. They were out of carnitas so I went with barbacoa, which was dry. They were also very stingy with the salsa to accompany my chips. I still have half a bag left but no more salsa. The only food they ever seem to give too much of is rice.

As usual organic food at its best. I did wait for the cilantro lime rice while it was cooking. It is at its best when you eat it straight off from the kitchen. I wish, they serve food on the hotter side. Sometimes, it is served at room temperature

I am a big Chipotle fan! Been liking it ever since I first tasted ‘Veggie Burrito Bowl’ 4 years back in San Mateo, California. Never really wrote a review but today the day has come. I always order Veggie Buritto Bowl or wrap. It is always freshly made. Quantity is huge. Price is affordable. Generally I come here in the evenings and I always get place to sit. No complaints whatsoever. Long live Chipotle !

It’s hard to rate a chain restaurant because their food is usually consistent with other chain locations. Therefore, my review and rating is based on their services. I stay at the Houston Marriot Medical Center very frequently and if I am looking for something quick, yet somewhat healthy, I will stop by Chipotle. However, I usually encounter subpar customer service. The employees working behind the counter always look like they hate their jobs. To give them some credit, they are pretty efficient in getting your items on a plate, but their cashiers are always horrible. During two of my last visits, both cashiers were standing there talking to their friends as I was standing there waiting to pay for my food. At some point, they decided to take a seat. As I waved for their attention, they would wave to notify me that their conversation would only last for another minute. Very unprofessional. Unfortunately, right out side this place are homeless people. So expect to get hit up for some food… let me correct myself, expect to get hit up for money! I once offered half of my burritos, but the homeless guy requested money for nothing at all. Nothing was what he got. I am giving this place 2 starts for their horrible service. Their food remains consistent as other chain locations.

Thank God for Chipotle, their online ordering capability and this location’s sparate window for to go orders! Anywhere you go for lunch in the Med Center is seriously insane. So when the urge arises for the yummy cilantro lime rice goodness, the BEST thing to do is go online, place your order & select your time to pick up(make sure to try to order at least 1 hr ahead of the time you want to pick up); you can also pay online and skip that process in the store too. When you get there, you will see the main line for people eating there that is wrapped all the way around inside and pretty much out the door; then off to the side, you will see the To Go area(WIN). Walk up, give your name, get your order, and if you paid online, walk right out the door and back to your office to enjoy your yummy goodness in peace & still have time to nap afterwards if you get an hour for lunch like me!!! LOL(hope you do cuz you’ll need a nap after this) The food, as always, is fresh, yummy… lots of flavor AND if you ask for extra anything in the note section online, they actually do a good job of putting it on there. Seriously, this to go window was the best idea they have had!

It’s your typical Chipotle place, which is a good thing. Lines vanish quick and(in my experience so far) they give a good portion of meat. The only thing you have to worry about is the outside area that’s facing the train station. A bird took a crap on my head once, so watch out!

Health conscience eater here. I’m always stressing about my fitness and when I need a quick bite and don’t want to feel too guilty about it I swing by chipotle. The company has recently started a transparency initiative vowing to eliminate GMOs from their kitchens. Chipotle is obviously a major chain eatery with locations all over the country. This location is located in Houston’s bustling Med Center and gets particularly busy at lunch so keep an eye for Dr. McDreamy while you scarf down that burrito. Clean, affordable and pretty healthy… this place is a winner in my book!

I LOVECHIPOTLE. I’m pretty picky with what I eat(health-wise), and I don’t eat meat, so Chipotle is perfect for me since you get to pick out everything you want. This location gets super busy during lunch time, and you’ll see a stream of people in scrubs from all the hospitals in the area. But, the line goes pretty quickly. Plus, this is probably the only decent place(in my opinion) to get lunch in the med center, so I’m willing to deal with it.

Have you had your Vitamin B today? B is for Burrito. The jewel of the crown that is fine dining in the world famous Texas Medical Centre(TMC) proper. This was the first place I ate at my first time working in TMC back in the aughts. And then again years later with St God’s, it just makes sense to eat here because it is always a flawless experience. They make a mean burrito that is appropriately stuffed balls to the walls with the good stuff(steak) rather than the cheap, frilly lettuce. Consider the tortilla to be permanently touched with the undetectable extension charm because it always holds more food than your eyes tell you it does. Unlike other locations(Shepherd) where routinely there is so little filling you can just tie off the left over tortilla and use it again and again to make other new burritos. Yes, that was a Dave Attell reference, you’re welcome. Yes, the line sometimes reaches out onto Fannin. Because everyone and their grandmother knows this is the hot spot, this is where burrito magic happens. Seriously when there is a good burrito nearby who wants to deal with another Starbucks, McDonalds, or Subway? Nobody. That is why the line is out on the street and everyone looks miserable for being in line, but nobody leaves even if it is raining and their scrubs are getting wet it doesn’t matter — cuz burrito. Considering the line hits the street and eventually gets dispatched out into the world again with a burrito(or bowl) in tow they do keep things moving. But if you are in the back of the line, you have a wait cut out for you. Unlike back in the aughts with just a dumb flip phone, now there is iPhone to do iThings with. #success Unless you have the time/energy/Qcard funds to burn to get on the light rail and head downtown(or call the audible and go to Bodega’s several stops earlier) or to get in your car and drive to Antone’s(8057 Kirby) this is by far the best lunch option you are lucky to have available to you. What time is it? ADVENTURETIME to wait in line for several minutes before placing an order for your burrito, paying, walking out, and quickly devouring the deliciousness.
