A wet morning before sunrise. Great SPAM omelette and potatoes. A little on greasy side, but it slides down nicely. Order kind of like fast food, but eat like a communal IHOP. Nice feel. Hawaiian music. Birds in Banyan tree chirping. Waikiki is waking up. ~$ 13 breakfast average. Neat place.

I had heard raves about this store and yes, at 8:00AM there is a long line. Seeing the masses, I opted for carry-out of a Loco Moco. It was generally par for the course. I found out later from locals that Egg ‘N Thinks claim to fame are pancakes and signature syrups. Since neither of which are of interest to me, I don’t think I’ll be back.

Extremely disappointed w the service given here. Especially talking small talk w the host about if they offer kama’aina %. So at this location your whole party must be at the front and you must Order before seating. Anyway we inquired about that and let a party that had all their guest go in front which was only us 2 at the time. My 3friends came 2mins into the first party ordering but had to move to the side since the party was big. Mind you before the line started forming. Which the host didn’t seem to notice) anyways as the Asian party finished up their ordering a line had formed and meanwhile me waiting right behind the party; my party ready to order and my whole group right next to the Asian party was now told We must now go to the back of the line. Which at that point would have been at least 45min wait. Auwe not happy w the way treated. knowing the rest were tourist even more so we could’ve been return guest.

Me and hubby looked for somewhere to have breakfast as the place had a long a line. We thought that food will be amazing unfortunately my order blueberries with whip cream and nuts came with very thin waffle, exaggerated whip cream and not fresh berries. Not

There is always a line to get into this place, so it has to be good right? It was, but nothing special. The pancakes were nice and spongy. There was a nice selection of omelettes and they have daily specials. The coffee is hot and fresh(as it should be in Hawaii) and they kept filling the cup! So was it worth the wait?! Maybe.

This restaurant is very popular! They have a pretty efficient method of serving such a large volumes of customers. It has a 15ish min wait & a little pricey, you also have to order before entering the restaurant, and in addition the dining area is quite small but that doesn’t affect the deliciousness of the food! This was my first time here, I ordered island style fried rice with eggs. This was a very filling and tasty dish! This fried rice was full of a variety of veggies and had a savory flavor. I was thoroughly pleased with the service here and with the food!

What to expect: typical diner fare with a Hawaiian twist, serving up large portions at a moderate price. The process: wait in line, look at the menu board, decide what to get before getting to the host, place your order with the host, pay at the cash register, wait in the«to be seated» line, get seated and enjoy. The food: I tried their mango chicken sausage with eggs. The sausage was very good, the bit of sweetness from the mango really made it stand out. The eggs were rubbery. My friend’s island style friend rice with a sunny side up egg was delicious. The rice was full of flavor! The pancakes looked like the greatest things ever made… so next time I’ll try those. It’s a little steep for the quality but overall it’s a good touristy stop.

I will start this off for stating if you don’t like waiting for good food then don’t come here. This is a busy place. I have eaten at two of their locations over the last 10 years and have always had to wait to get inside. To me the wait was worth it. I got to experience a great breakfast that can only be gotten in Hawaii and now Guam. They have 3 locations in Hawaii and 1 in Guam. Despite the free flavorless breakfast at my hotel I choose to come here to eat my favorite breakfast in Hawaii. I always get the 2 egg with Portuguese sausage and do the upgrade to Macadamia Nut Pancakes. As soon as I land at Honolulu I start thinking of getting breakfast at Eggs’ n Things. It has always met my expectations and has never disappointed. I don’t mind waiting for good food unlike many others who leave negative reviews. Waikiki is a busy place and waiting to get into the more popular places is the norm. Try getting into Dukes on a Friday or Saturday night after 6PM. The service is very good. From the check it to the wait staff. They do an amazing job managing the chaos that is a daily part of their work environment. They were very friendly and made sure I was well taken care of. My food arrived quickly which considering how busy they were kind of surprised me. It was the exactly what I needed after the long day of touring the island yesterday. The eggs were perfectly cooked — over easy was my request. The Portuguese sausage was delicious with a slight spiciness to it. I was so happy with my choice. The pancakes were thick and loaded with chopped Macadamia Nuts. I added some coconut syrup and wow was I in Pancake Zen. As someone who loves breakfast this is one of my favorite breakfast. Everything was cooked perfectly and I enjoyed it tremendously. I don’t usually like to wait to eat but for Eggs’ N Things I gladly stand in line and wait my turn to eat at this local treasure. The wife was sleeping in and I took her the same treat I had and you would have thought I brought her flowers. I look forward to my next visit and will gladly stand in line and patiently wait my turn to eat one of the best breakfast I have ever had the pleasure of eating.

Terrible service. I was waiting forever for someone to come and top up my coffee. I eventually gave up. The food is nothing to write home about. It is bland and over priced. I would caution you and suggest you avoid this place.

You have to order before you enter and then you have to wait in line. Then you have to pay before you are seated and again you have to wait in line. Then once you are seated. You are served. The staff is sloppy. Don’t even come here !!

I’m giving my review not based solely on the food, but the fact that it is priced 75% above what any normal restaurant would charge for this kind of meal. I cannot fathom, in any universe, why this restaurant is rated so highly. My girlfriend theorized that it’s probably because they have an English and Japanese menu, have Japanese speaking servers and are located just across from the beach. If you’ve ever eaten at Waffle House, IHOP, Denny’s or Norm’s Diner than you have eaten the same food you will experience at Eggs n’ Things. You will wait in line, literally for 30 – 60 minutes, pay 20 – 25 dollars per meal and be extremely disappointed when you’re finished with your food. I ordered the bacon and eggs with pancakes and an orange juice. I upgraded my pancakes to the«strawberry whipped cream» specialty pancakes as it’s rated one of their«popular items». The up charge was 6 $. I literally received basic pancakes with 4 strawberries out of a wal-mart strawberry compote can and a mound of whipped cream(literally cool-whip). The profit margin on that up charge is probably 5000%. My bacon was the lowest quality bacon you can find at any low-tier pancake house and the cakes were over-cooked. All in all, I paid 23 $ for this meal. My girlfriend ordered a similar plate — macadamia nut pancakes, turkey bacon, eggs and pineapple juice. Her total charge was 21 $. Total cost: 44 $ + 45 minute outdoor wait in Honolulu heat. The value of this was maybe 16 – 20 $ with tax at a standard diner. Nothing about this meal was anything more than mediocre and I left regretting everything I’d invested. Look, if you want to have a solid breakfast on the beach, there are a plethora of options that are cheaper, with no wait, for equal or better quality food. I know it’s standard for touristy destinations to mark up prices, but eggs n’ things is clearly capitalizing on its unjustified popularity. Just know what you’re getting into. Across the board, it’s simply not a good experience.

Island Style Fried Rice is amazing! Everything a growing boy needs,(rice, green onion, carrots, celery, sprouts, ham, sausage, fish cake, eggs) all in one dish! The crepes were tasty too. Peaches were firm and crisp. Didn’t seem like they were canned peaches.

To be completely honest, this place is very popular, but also it is a total tourist trap. If you do decide to give it a try, it’s nice to be prepared for this: — The long wait. At least 15 minutes, in-line, outside. — A friendly host who will greet you, and will take your order– before you get seated. — You will pay the cashier inside– again, before you get seated. — If you are a party of one, you will either share a table with others, or a corner seat. Nobody puts baby in a corner! Not even Eggs ‘n Things. No body. — You will get water only when you ask. — If it was a humid, sticky day, you will sweat excessively. There is no air condition, and it might get worse if the fan was not working. — An over-hyped breakfast. I had the Loco Moco bowl: A big hamburger patty over white steamed rice topped with two eggs over hard(per request) and dripping brown gravy. As one of the local favorites dishes; It was interesting, but just didn’t hit the spot– in any way. Two and half Unilocal is way too generous.

Great service, food is great, but I feel like portions are small for the price I paid. Got the B2 platter for two people which was around $ 28, I believe. It came with eggs, Portuguese sausage, pancakes, potatoes, and two drinks. It felt like we paid more for the pancakes than the whole entrée itself. Just expected more Portuguese sausage and potatoes. Overall, the pancakes were bomb! Very fluffy and light. And the Plantation Iced Tea is one of the best drinks to get. If you like mango iced tea and pineapple juice, this is the drink for you! Lastly, the location is wonderful because it’s along side Waikiki beach! Very peaceful, not loud or obnoxious. Also, it does get pretty busy so come early! Despite the 4 stars, I recommend this place & am willing to try this place again.

Came here on a Saturday around noon, think we waited around 20 minutes. Very casual — wait in line, order at the stand and pay, then get seated. Once we ordered and were seated, the food came out very quickly. Our party of 2 got got counter seating. Extensive options… I decided on the Traditional Loco Moco and Plantation Iced Tea. I did enjoy my dish, can’t say it was mind blowing though, and the sauce was a bit too thick for me. I honestly kind of like the paper plates and forks — horrible for the environment, I know — Hawaiian food comes off as so simple and presented in a non-fussy way, that the serveware and utensils here felt like they matched. The iced tea was so refreshing and best word to describe it is «tropical» — I highly recommend this. Very ideal location for those staying in Waikiki. Good grindz, it was recommended to me by a local friend, seems like one of those places to take visitors. Try it out if you get a chance, but if you don’t have time, no need to have regrets either.

I wish we had an Eggs ‘n Things back home. The Aloha Food Factory is not quite the same. I ordered the Portuguese Sausage with Poached Eggs and a side of Macadamia Nut Pancakes, and my husband ordered the Pork Chop with Over Easy Eggs and Strawberry Nut Pancakes and Plantation Tea. Everything was good. The meat was flavorful. I’ve never had a pork chop Hawaiian style, before, but it is like a hybrid between ham and pork chop. It’s really good. The pancakes come with Macadamia Nuts, toasted and sprinkled on, rather than in the batter. It tastes just as good as if it was inside. The syrups were delicious. I thought the Coconut Syrup was a really good, not too sweet compliment to the flavor of the pancakes. My hubbie preferred the Guava Syrup. If you get the pancakes as a side, they give you 3 cakes. It was more than enough food for me. I gave some of my sausages and pancakes to my husband. We got a great view, next to the beach, with the windows wide open.
