Blue Ocean Seafood & Steak

5 stars for food and value. We have spent a lot more in Waikiki for food that pales in comparison. Amazing coconut shrimp, perfectly cooked salmon and perfectly priced. Yes its a food truck but I would have an amazing meal here then go to a wine bar for the ambiance.
We are already planning our next meal here tonight!

Wow, so taken aback today as i ordered my food. I live in the neighborhood and have eaten here about a dozen times. Mostly I have paid with a debit card in the past. Today as I gave my order and tried to pay with my card (prior to food being prepared), the counter lady barked, «cash only». Then proceeded to be nasty with a «forget it». Mind you, I could have walked home and grabbed cash, but why would I ever give them money again when the counter lady (presumably the owner) was incredibly rude. Never again for me no matter who is working, routine customer lost. They make good food but go somewhere else if a lady is working the register.

Nice place. Easy to order, lots of photos of the dishes stuck on the food truck.
Ordered the Mahi Mahi. It was pretty good, not the best I’ve had but it did the trick.
My date ordered the salmon and shrimp but unfortunately, when we got home, they forgot the salmon so all he had was shrimp :(
The bread they give you with each dish is pretty tasty. It also comes with a side salad and rice (more carbs!!)

SO FREAKING GOOD!!! Got the salmon, and it was HUGE and so delicious! Better salmon than Tikis! And this was WAY cheaper! I love the lady that runs it too! She’s hilarious and absolutely amazing! I’m sad to leave the island, I won’t be able to have her salmon anymore!

Really enjoyed everything that we ordered and boy did we order everything. A mother and son team man the helm and they are absolutely adorable. My husband and I tried several entrees and enjoyed them all but, I would highly recommend the garlic shrimp, soft shell crab and the fish and chips! (to die for!!!)
Once you stop by I promise you’ll be craving another tasty bite!

Wandering around aimlessly one night, I couldn’t decide what to eat for dinner. I had the pup in tow and couldn’t exactly eat at any of the indoor restaurants in Waikiki and I wasn’t in the mood to spend an arm and a leg. I’d like to spend al fresco, under the moon light while having a pretty good meal.
Finally, I find this royal blue truck nudged in between high rises. It was inviting as they have/​had an outdoor pizza vendor adjacent from them. They have benches for outdoor seating should you decide not to take your meal to go. The surrounding areas is not the fanciest. They have a decent selection of shrimp (not near north shore shrimp), seafood plates, steak plates, chicken, burgers, sandwiches, tacos and eclectic choices of combo plates. I’ve tried their advertised garlic shrimp. To be honest, I couldn’t taste the garlic in it. However, the garlic tasted nicely buttered in other seasonings I could not make out. The meal came with rice, garlic bread and salad. I loved the sauce covering my rice as it was delightful to eat. The bread sadly was on the bland side. However, the shrimp was satisfying.
I am curious to try their other choices as soon as I can find my way back here again. My next venture would have to be the seafood combo. Customer service is friendly and welcoming. The plus? They accept credit cards and deliver within the vicinity. Street parking only.

The Lady that runs this incredible Seafood truck is an absolute joy and the food is Superb! We encountered the Blue Ocean truck because it was literally around the corner from the Hilton Waikiki and we had plans to meet friends for dinner but, we wanted to grab a bite to carry us until dinner time! The wife and I shared an order of Soft Shell Crab and we were amazed by both the taste and freshness. We returned almost daily to try something different and we were continuously amazed. The Blue Ocean truck is serving by far some of the best and most memorable seafood dishes on the island and you would be doing yourself a huge favor by stopping by !!!

We ordered the 12 piece Garlic Shrimp which came with rice, bread and romaine lettuce. The shrimp were not fresh as they had the after taste of being frozen. The shrimp had a very mild Garlic taste and the butter appeared to have flour added which made the butter thick looking on the shrimp. The butter still looked yellow on the shrimp instead of being clear like it should have been if the shrimp with cooked in garlic butter,
Just after leaving Blue Ocean we went to order Garlic Shrimp from the Pacific Garlic Shrimp stand to see who really had the better tasting Garlic Shrimp. I can honestly say that Pacific was the clear winner. The shrimp at Blue Ocean had little garlic flavor and the strange thickness of the butter was not appealing. The side salad from Blue Ocean did not come with dressing so it was just dry romaine lettuce. The bread was light but tasteless. it was just filler and ended up in the trash. The rice did not absorb any of the Garlic Shrimp flavor due to it being non existent so it was boring.
Sadly Blue Ocean is not worth the stop. For 12 shrimp similar in size to Pacific’s with rice, salad and tasteless bread they charge $ 17. I will not be returning to Blue Ocean ever again. Better to hit up Pacific Garlic Shrimp if craving the North Shore Style Garlic Shrimp.

Ono garlic shrimp! I had the combo with the shrimp & Mahi Mahi because I couldn’t decide. OMG so good! I could not stop eating!

Absolutely amazing! The owner was very kind and social. She seemed like the friendly neighborhood star of the block, everyone said hi to her when they passed by! We were lucky enough to be able to sit down with the owner and have a good conversation about our Vietnamese heritage/​roots.
Asides from that, the food was phenomenal. We ordered the garlic shrimp and the smell just permeated the air with its richness! All the flavored were amazing, and to top it off, the garlic bread was a surprising edition! All the variety of seafood, in addition to this burger, gives you a quick bite with a chill and atmosphere.
10/​10, I would give more stars if I could. Overall, food is top notch, service is excellent. Major shoutout to the owner for making our stay more than enjoyable!

This food truck was located a block from the condo that we were staying at and we needed a quick option so we grabbed some plate lunches here. Food was very tasty and fresh, but a bit pricey so I’ll knock down a star for the value issue, not for the food quality

Run away! Awful food and service. I was overcharged for a burger. The burger was cold and disgusting. McDonald’s has better food and service. You have been warned.
