Very accomadating to pets. Waitress was very nice. Comfortable atmosphere. Fans were going and we could watch the sun goes down while eating a NYC special pizza.

We ate here because another place we went had a long wait. We got seated pretty quick(4 people). I got 2 slices of pizza with pepperoni, ham, sausage, ground beef, and green peppers. It was good and slices were big. Garlic breadsticks were kind of hard and not very warm. My daughter got wings and she said they weren’t bad. My husband and son got a large New York Style pizza with Pineapple, Ham and Mushrooms. They said it was gross and barely edible. They said the sauce was disgusting. They only ate it because we paid for it. Will not be going back here again.

The service here is the best thing going for it. The waitress, the hostess, and the manager are all super nice. The waitress kept our drinks filled and the manager checked on us at least two or three times. We did not like the sauce used for the chicken parm(it’s a homemade sauce that involves carrots and is orangish), so the waitress returned it and took it off the bill, no hard feelings. The«pizza» was questionable. Being from NYC ourselves, this fell far, far, far short of New York pizza. We are, of course, pizza snobs. So the deep dish pan pizza tasted a bit like Ellio’s frozen pizza to us. There were a few complaints in prior reviews about the ambience. No screaming kids or March Madness during our visit. There was some golf tournament being played on like six of the eight or so TV sets they have in the joint. Surprisingly, Southerners take their golf seriously and were making a collective, audible«Ohhhh!» and«Woooo!» when putts were made or missed. There were also a few drunken shirtless college rednecks meandering about outside, who apparently believe catcalling to young women in convertibles remains an acceptable mating call in the 21st century.(This would likely explain why these three young men were walking around without women by their side… drunk…on a Monday afternoon.) But I can’t fault the restaurant for the patrons or the drunken behavior of their neighbors.

Hate to be a hater, but this place has changed, and not for the good. The ambience is what I expect; kids, beach, pizza place, plastic cups. The pizza though, in a word, tasteless. Bland sauce, sausage from a convenience store, on a blah dough. It’s a great location and it’s pizza, so shouldn’t be too hard. Sadly we won’t be back. Bummer, missed the old pizza.

I don’t understand the poor reviews. Our family had a great experience tonight. We were looking for a quick bite & lots of TVs to watch March Madness. This was the perfect spot for both. We ordered 3 pizzas, all of which were piping hot w/generous toppings and great crust, a yummy wrap w/tomato, basil & fresh mozzarella and a simple but tasty house salad that was huge. Great atmosphere and very clean. Love the location(right near Orange Leaf fro yo for dessert). Service was very friendly, attentive & efficient. Prices were in line w/what we’d pay at home. Can’t wait to come back next time we’re in HHI!

Salad was ok. Prices were in line with area but pizza was between bad and passable. I ate it, my wife refused. Service was good. Personally I go for food and can handle bad service. I won’t go back.

Stopped in for pizza like we always do when we first arrive on HHI. The service was prompt and friendly. Our server brought the pizza and it was the wrong order, an honest mistake. We would have kept it except we aren’t pepperoni fans. Savannah apologized and in a short time we had our pizza, piping hot and delicious, as always. She spoke to her manager, Jose’, and he came over and took $ 10 off of our check. He then proceeded to give us a gift certificate to be used on our next visit. It’s not often that you find customer service that goes over and above. It’s always been our favorite pizza on the island and now Shelter Cove is our favorite location! Thank you Jose’ and Savannah!

You have been warned. Do not even bother with this place. We ordered two slices of pizza,($ 1 each), nachos and the Saratoga chips. The nacho chips were baked pizza dough triangles and had ground beef and melted cheddar cheese. There was hardly any ground beef at all, the cheese was really runny and had absolutely no taste, and the pizza dough chips were soggy and gross. I guess someone didn’t realize that if you pour runny cheese over pizza dough it gets soggy. The Saratoga chips were handmade chips with melted blue cheese. When they came to the table they looked so gross. Lumps of unmelted, oily blue cheese sprinkled on the handmade chips. I had absolutely one. It was the most disgusting food item I had ever eaten in my life. We told the waiter, and to his credit he took the item off our bill. The pizza was just ok, but I’m glad I didn’t order a full pie. This place has 4 or 5 locations on the island I was told, and honestly I would be surprised if they are here when we come back next year. Absolutely awful. It’s almost like they don’t even taste the food they serve. I think if Restaurant Rescue is looking for another project, this one would be it. The atmosphere is excellent, clean, New York City decorations etc. the décor is the only reason for the 1 star.

I ordered the salad and slice of pizza. Very tasty and reasonably priced. We also ordered the NYCP And really lined that too. I took off a star because our waiter was not so great.

It’s really hard to screw up pizza and pasta, but this place did it. Bad food, Worse service. We ordered a margarita pizza, it came with sause on dough with a few drops of cheese. when we inquired about it misding ingredients, the waitress took it and poured olive oil over it, and said they were out 9f the rest. We refused it, Waitress didn’t care a bit. Lasagna? forget about it. noodles with Pizz sause poured over it. not even baked, not hot,. terrible. employees goofing around quite a bit. THIS Place Is in a new, half built outlet mall, tourist trap. Don’t bother eating here. Gross Gross Gross!!!
