I’ve been a longtime fan of Kentucky Fried Chicken long before it was«KFC». I cook… a lot… as a cook, I learned to cook from my grandma and mom… fried chicken from these women was outstanding. It’s been years since I’ve enjoyed a box of KFC, something that was a treat to eat, particularly when it was a hot summer evening, or you were just too pooped to prep good chicken. In the 60s, 70s, thru the 80s and 90s, a dinner of KFC was always an event. My DIL and I decided after a day of working and my son coming home late, we would treat ourselves to a bucket of KFC with the sides and extras. So disappointed I almost cried. First of all… rather than a crunchy delicious coating on the chicken, it was a doughy mess, not golden brown all the way thru… totally undone. The chicken pieces were of unknown origin of the bird… at least from a chicken known to this planet. There was a piece that was unrecognizable from either a leg, a thigh, or whatever… plus…it was so small, it was highly doubtful if it was a working limb of the bird or not! Next(and the worst), was the chicken itself… it wasn’t done :(it was still pink and bloody near the bone. We had to zap it in the microwave to finish the cooking cycle. An order of macaroni and cheese was not included, although paid for. Disappointed doesn’t even cover it. Did I call and complain? No… won’t use them again. The chicken that was left over, went into a scrumptious chicken and dumpling for dinner a couple of nights later… divine! KFC isn’t long for this world… not with offerings of this caliber. Will I go again? Nope.

This is the only KFC located in the Gresham and Troutdale area. It is one of the smaller branches located right off of Eastman Parkway and Burnside. I have never really seen this place that. Yay in the years that we have been coming here. With that said parking is never a problem. The food is good and I generally get the original or extra crispy fried chicken. The biscuits and Coleslaw is also pretty good. The workers seem to be ok but not overly friendly. I come here for the food not the service. It’s a chain fried chicken restaurant you can’t expect too much in terms of service. I always check my order before leaving though just in case. If you like fried chicken. They are worth checking out.

Twice in the last week I have gone back to this place. I really need to go grocery shopping. Regardless of my laziness to cook for myself, this place continues to astound. Both times they left something out of my order. Only today did I call them on it and got my full order. After months and months of getting orders wrong, I finally prevailed because I am smarter than these idiots that work here. The drive thru speaker is still impossible to hear and the non-Engrish speaking girl is still working there making it worse and assigned to annoy customers on it. This place just sucks. 1-Star for pot pies.

The screwed up my order the time before this visit and this visit was to go in and get the food they missed and they were going to «make it up to me»…(this was actually the 2nd time they have forgotten part of my order) My order was $ 35 and fed my family of 4… when I went in I expected to have the food the forgot replaced and then maybe a little something for the inconvenience… they replaced my whole order. I was very happy and I will come back again… next time maybe I will check my order before leaving their lot, but I am a happy girl now. They turned my angry into gratefulness…

Wish I could give no stars. First the lady at the drive thru had me wait over 5 minutes to take my order. Keep in mind, only one car was ahead of me. Then at the window, took and ran my card for $$$ then informed me they were out of biscuits, replaced 4 biscuits with 2 cookies… and they forgot my drink. Horrible customer service, I got screwed and paid too much and didn’t get everything I paid for.

The worst customer service I’ve had at a KFC, when I had gone up to get help the store manager she replied what now. I’ve yet to call customer service but to say the least I won’t be stopping by there again.

Say what you want about fast food and how horrible it is for you but KFC makes some fine fried chicken. I avoid McD’s and most other fast food like the plague and i don’t go to corp fast food often so i don’t feel bad, actually i feel quite good eating some fried chicken from time to time. I’m not comparing KFC to anyone, I’m just saying, DAMNATION, that is some good chicken. Hot, crispy and delicious, KFC needs some love people. I was watching Anthony Bordain and several of the chefs on the show were commenting on how much they like KFC and good fried chicken. I think sometimes foodies take themselves a little to serious and need good fried chicken to bring themselves back down to earth. Mario Battali says«no matter what you eat today it’s all s###t tomorrow so the real question is how much do you want to pay for your s###t.» $ 5.00, that’s how much. 3 awesome chicken strips, a biscuit, mac and cheese, and a 20oz soft drink come in that meal. Sign me up. I may only come here about 4 times a year but i am always happy when i do. And yes I’ve been to Cackalack’s Hot Chicken Shack and many other places that serve up some fine fried chickies but if this was my last meal on earth i would die with a full tummy and a smile.
