First, the food was really good. If I was scoring just the food I would give it a 5 star rating. Secondly, the service was just average. I did find out when we were leaving the waitress we had was new, and still in training. So take maybe it will be better next time. Lastly, the restaurant itself seemed to be clean, and the staff were friendly. The only negative I can come up with is the music was just a little to loud. One last thing. Everyone should try the s’mote

I’m reviewing this place purely on the food. My husband and I came here in a Wednesday night(which also happened to be quiz night, yay!) and my first reaction was ‘this is really lovely’. I soon realized it’s a little hipster paradise. We came primarily to eat. The menu certainly looked great and I was excited to try as much as I could. I had a real hankering for some good fish so I ordered the beer battered fish and chips. I guess being from Ireland I’m spoiled for fish but this was just bland bland bland. No flavour whatsoever. Plus my fish and chips were served in a bowl?! How on earth are you supposed to cut fish in a bowl? Hipster dining madness. My husband noted his dish was also lacking in flavor a little. The bar itself is nice, the quiz was quite fun! I’d go back but just for drinks. The food is not worth the price.

I’m giving a 5 star rating for my experience on a really busy Friday night. This was my first time sitting somewhere else other than at the bar. I got a table on the restaurant side of the place and the service was so good! The waitress kept checking up at the table, the food came out fast, and they had DuClaw’s Sweet Baby Jesus on tap. Total win! I got The Dive burger and it was very yummy. Very juicy and flavorful!

This is now my second time here and it was just as enjoyable as the first. Place was packed so we sat at the bar which was very lively and Maggie and Erin took great care of us. Food was on point and trivia was entertaining as it wasn’t the typical trivia you normally partake in. Beer selection still good, cocktails still interesting. Will definitely make this a frequent stop. I love that Dive N Boar is laid back and doesn’t take itself too seriously.

Great little bar. Food is good. The girl behind the bar wasn’t very good. Service could be better for sure! Worth trying for the atmosphere and food, just hope she isn’t working

Recently a group of friends and I had a fun night out at Dive ‘n’ Boar. The fried pickle appetizers were delicious and the drinks were fun. We went on a Thursday which seems to be a trivia night and the place was packed. That probably impacted service somewhat as the place is super popular but the staff was friendly and did their best! Definitely want to go back another time!

Fabulous late night hangout with the girls! Amazing BBQ nachos. Trivia night on Tuesday. Great service. Bartenders are awesome and friendly and attentive. Drink specials to keep you coming back and a photo booth in the back to boot!

I have visited three times in the last four weeks since friends come here regularly. Servers are very nice however, the first time, I received the wrong beer. The 2nd time, was told that craft draught beers were not on happy hour„ ordered a bottle, then was told that the server was wrong. I ordered a second– draught. Was brought the wrong beer. Was told that«they probably switched the keg. Sorry. The third time, I ordered wings(excellent) and asked for a sub on fries. The server highly encouraged me to GE the fresh made soup. I said okay. And received fries. The food is good, the beer choices good, but somehow I’m three for three on errors. That is really unusual.

Came here for first time on NYE w a group of 10. Enjoyed the unique menu options and both dishes I tried were extremely creative and flavorful. Recommend the pork potato skins app(which are really more like waffle fries), and the brisket burrito which has an amazing spicy pepper flavor. The bbq baked beans were unreal, too. The atmosphere is less trendy and sexy than its sister restaurant, Southern Culture, but is clean and comfy and great for groups.

I was excited to try this place but was very disappointed. The restaurant over all was nice and I like the concept of it but the food and service is BAD. Service was very slack and almost non existent. Food had a very bland flavor. No taste to it. I would not come back here again. I looked to see what others thought and was surprised how rude and condescending their responses was to people. Very poor taste on their end.

Came here to visit another couple to eat and drink. Our friends were there before us and when we greeted them, they warned us that the service was already bad. We sat in the bar area at a booth. We were not greeted for probably about 10 minutes. When we finally were, a girl walked up to us and said«Do you know what you want to drink yet?!». No introducing herself, no asking how we were, just straight to the point and very rude. We told her what we wanted to drink and before we can even finish what we were saying, she ran off. When she came back with our drinks, our friends had nachos and asked for more chips. Chips seriously came to the table 15 minutes later, no exaggeration. While we were sipping on drinks, we decided what we wanted to eat. No one would ever come by. We were still waiting and still no one came by. We finally went to the bar to order our food. The bartender went up to us and asked my fiancé why he went to the bar to order. My fiancé said because no one came around to the table to ask what we wanted to eat. Bartender said that he makes his rounds at the table(which he did not do). It was after 10PM so they only served food from the left side of the menu, so we didn’t have much to choose from. I ordered the Korean wings and waffle fries. Wings were decent size. I asked for crispy and they were not crispy nor were they slimy. They were just regular to me but definitely not crispy. The Korean flavor was ok, but not what I was expecting. It was more on the sweeter side for me. Avocado ranch was pretty good. It would be good on salads as well. Flavor was there. Fries were good and fresh but more on the salty side. My fiancé got ‘Merica Nachos. It was served in a bowl which was really hard to share at the table. It was very large for the size. There were lots of toppings on it, almost too much. 80% of the chips were so soggy. The queso cheese was very bland and had a weird texture to it, almost like it came from a can. Also, about every 3 or 4 bites there would be just a huge amount of salt that would overpower any of the nacho flavor and make it hard to keep eating. My fiancé said these were the worse nachos he’s EVER ordered at a restaurant. When our food was served, we asked for more napkins. We never got any napkins. And, no one even came by after our food. All our drinks were COMPLETELYEMPTY! We even sat our drinks by the end of the table and no one came by, EVER! There were 2 bartenders and I can tell they were helping each other out but I still can’t believe how horrible the service was. We once again had to go up to the bar to get more drinks. When my fiancé walked up to the bar to get more drinks, the bartender walked by him at least 3x while cleaning behind the bar and chatting with the other lady bartender. We had planned to get more beer and drinks but since we had to wait so long and the bartender decided to ignore us we just decided it was time to go. Horrible service. I’ve never had service that bad. Sad part is we were a party of 4 that have all worked in the restaurant industry and usually let things go. But I’ve never been treated at a restaurant so terrible before until now. Horrible service and horrible food. Never again.

Great beer/bourbon selection. Phenomenal food with unique twists on old classics. Incredibly knowledgable waiters. This place is amazing. Erick came to the table and just shot the shit with us for a few minutes about bourbon and beer they had on tap, and it was obvious that he really knew his stuff. Appetizers were delicious, we got the fried pickles and chicken and waffles. For dinner I got the burrito(forgot the name) and it was delicious. Not a single negative word from anybody in our party about the food. One negative, which obviously doesn’t change my review, was that service was a little slow considering it was a Saturday night. Whatever, this place is awesome. Really hope they’re able to start around for a while!

The music when Maggie is working is on point. Today it was old school hip hop. I can’t imagine a better way to start my Sunday than with brunch at Dive n Boar. 2 follar mimosas to add to the great music selection when MAGGIE is working. Now to the food is AMAZING! What a great way to reinvent food and exercise the taste buds. Everything here works well with a new twist executed perfectly. All of the staff are friendly and never leave you glass empty. When it comes to my morning mimosas for brunch that is important. In short great food, great music, great service because of the great people. Feeling that you need to get out of the rut of the ordinary? Come in for a bite you won’t be dissappointed.

Went in for a late night drink and one of the employees was passed out on a booth. When she woke up she insulted the bar guests. Before I left I was given a bar tab for 2 drinks that had already been paid for. Very disappointed in the staff, the comedy show was the only good part of the night.

This was almost an epic/awesome experience! FOOD3⁄5 stars. Increased to 4⁄5 stars because of the service. Stopped in for a dinner while the finance was out of town. I thoroughly enjoyed the décor and feel of this place. I ordered a couple of beers, they do have a good selection of craft beer. There are plenty of mixed drinks with interesting names and combinations. For dinner I started with chicken wings, with their traditional hot sauce(house made per the bar keep) and finished my experience off with a Brisket burrito. The chicken wings were a little bit of work(came with the wing and drum together) which does not bother me but definitely a little more work. The sauce was good, definitely not generic sauce and had a decent amount of heat without being over the top. The blue cheese dipping sauce was GREAT! The wings came out super hot and delicious. My main course fell WAYSHORT! The concept of the burrito was great and the ingredients in it also equally great in theory. My problem was it barely came out to me warm. The cheese on the top looked like it had time to congeal and the temperature backed it up. I got a side of BBQ beans and mac n cheese. The baked beans were the best beans I have had!!! The beans had plenty of meat and the flavor was spot on!!! The mac n cheese was ok, not the best but better than most boxed mac n cheeses. This could have been a 5 star review but when my meal comes out barely warm there is some issues! I would have given this 3 stars, but the bar keep was awesome! Improvements: make sure the food is coming out hot. I do not send food back to be microwaved.

This place is a gem! I’m so happy the place we were going to wasn’t there, or we never would have stumbled upon this restaurant. The food, for starters was fantastic. I got the pork quesadilla with baked beans, and Josh got the Cuban sandwich with slaw. I also ordered us a side of macaroni to split because it was recommended. Nothing on our plates is something we wouldn’t order again. The quesadilla took the prize for our favorite though. Josh also had the house amber. We later found out it was a Michelob amber, which who knew they made anything besides ultra and light? Pretty decent as well as the rest of their fantastic drink menu. The last thing I saw was this glamorous pig portrait on the wall, and if nothing else it was worth it to come in just to see this pig.

EDIT: OMG they posted this: to their facebook shortly after my review. Why is there a knife??? PLS don’t murder me. Also a bunch of their employees jumped on the facebook post and tried to say how non threatening the picture is and how most can see how it is a light hearted joke. And then they deleted all comments suggesting the picture was a bad idea. Picture is still there. No apology in sight. I wish I could give 2 reviews… one for the bar and one for the food. The bar was on point. Good beer, growlers, excellent cocktails. Good service. The food was unremarkable especially for the price. $ 9for one pretzel??? Everything that claimed to be smoked had no smoke flavor(dressing, corn, brisket). The brisket was served BBQ style, torn up. Small portion for 17 $. You can only pick one sauce, but it comes in a squirting bottle. Someone spent a lot of time marketing this place to perfection with interior style, food presentation, music choices, etc. But the whole point, the food, just didn’t deliver. We southerners are not fooled. Tldr, ain’t no bacon bros.

The atmosphere seemed inviting enough… There are many options for beer but none that really appealed to my husband or my tastes. Service was good enough for a Friday evening. Food sadly was sub-par. Husband got the dog which was mushy, he said the chili was good and liked the onion ring garnish. Got the Mac n cheese for a side which was cold and not very cheesy ie blah. I ordered the Nachos Merica. Pretty awful. They serve it in a bowl which was annoying, and everything on top was liquid except the shreds of lettuce. Every topping tasted pre packaged including the guacamole. The nachos weren’t even luke warm. We were trying to decide between this joint and Compadres since Compadres is our go to Mex restaurant. We were disappointed in our decision to try something new. I would recommend other local establishments over spending your money at Dive N Boar.

Beer selection is fantastic. They do a lot of good local beers on draft, and the list had a lot of our favorites(hopsecutioner…yum!) I got the mojo pork with Mac and cheese and baked beans, and my husband got the brisket burrito with onion rings. Burrito was good, onion rings good. I tried all three sauces with the mojo pork-Alabama white was good, a second was good but forgettable, and the mustard based was delicious-if you are ever guilty of mixing vinegar and mustard sauces at your local BBQ place then you will love this one! The real show stealer for me was the baked beans and the OMG *****MACANDCHEESE ******
