Probably some of the best barbeque you can get in Greenville. During lunch though, you’ll have a hard time finding a place to sit. But that’s just a testament to how good the food is.

If you’re looking for a good bbq joint, this is it! It is VERY small though and fills up fast, but we got lucky and got a table right away. There is also seating outside, weather permitting. I had the bbq sandwich and it was delicious. The people I were with had the rack of ribs and said it was the best they had ever had. The ribs have so much meat on them. Definitely recommend.

If someone comes to town and wants southern BBQ this is the place to go. So authentic and tasty. Fresh sides that are all good. Hard to pick a favorite. Local owners who give back to the community and are active and responsive on social media. I love going to events where Henry’s is the caterer. You know you will be fed well! I’ve used for football tailgating too. Great!

Best ribs in Greenville, esp for the price point. Pornographically tender. Just wish they were open later… and served Coke products.

Avoid this place at all costs. Unless you are a regular don’t expect any service. Order a bbq sandwich plate but only got a sandwich. Asked for my sides which I paid for, was told that they didn’t have the time to make em. But I watched as the obvious regulars were treated like royalty. Definitely will never patron this place again.

Henry’s is good BBQ, but not great. The pork tastes like what you’d expect and the ribs are excellent. Henry’s has two sauces, a hot mustard-based sauce, and a mild vinegary ketchup based sauce. Both are good. Sides are hit or miss: The sweet potato casserole was AMAZING and the BBQ hash was quite good too. Unfortunately, the green beans and baked beans tasted like they came from a can, the peach cobbler was mostly dough, and the fries were a bit greasy. Still, not bad for the money. Kids meal is half portion/half price with no age limit. Good if you are not-so-hungry. Service is fast and friendly.

The most disappointing plate of BBQ I think I’ve ever had and I’ve had more than I should over the years. Was told this place wasn’t bad but wasn’t the best either. I agree. It was a one time visit for me. Got the 2 item combination plate. No seasoning on the ribs and dry. Pork was flavorless. I had to drown both in a sauce provided on the table. Only two to choose from and one was spicy. A third sauce was a hot sauce. Fries had been sitting under a heat lamp for a bit of time and tasted like they were cooked in old grease. Couldn’t finish those at all. Best thing on the plate was the slaw. Nice flavor to that. Couldn’t believe they also charge $ 0.54 for water. My philosophy on food service is the next plate you sit in front of your customer should best the best meal you’ve ever prepared. Didn’t get that here. Moving on.

Found this place purely by sniffing it out. I’m from ATL and was here working, started to drive home and smelled bbq and had to stop. I’ve been to a bunch of bbq but this place killed it. I got the half rack of ribs with sweet potato casserole. The ribs were smoked to the point of falling off the bone and the flavor was phenomenal. The sweet potato casserole was probably the best I’ve ever had — it had bits of some sort of cinnamon crust that were on point. 10⁄10 would go again.

We tried out Henry’s on a whim in a last ditch effort to grab some barbecue before our cross-country trek. Being from the Upstate, my normal go-to’s are Little Pig’s and The Pompous Pig, but they were both closed due to the Labor Day weekend. Henry’s was open, and let me tell you, I’m glad we stopped to try out Henry’s. The restaurant itself is tiny but open. The staff was friendly and accommodating. They went to the trouble of seating us outside at our request. The sweet tea was great, with the unsweetened option available for the less southern consumer. The fries seemed fresh and cut and made in-house. I got the chopped pork plate with mac & cheese and sweet potatoes-those sweet potatoes were some of the best I’ve had.(Don’t tell any of my aunts.) The pulled pork was moist and had that mild smokey barbecue-y taste we know and love. Got a chance to try the chopped chicken and it was similarly moist and tender. My mom had the Brunswick stew with her chicken and she thought it was pretty good. They had only two sauces, a mild vinegar based sauce and a spicier mustard based sauce, but unlike those establishment a wide range of mediocre sauces, the two sauces Henry’s offered were righteous and kicked ass. All-around had a good experience at Henry’s and will try to eat there again the next time I’m in town.

Oh, Henry’s. You make this ex-Memphian’s longing for BBQ a little less achy. The ribs are meaty and have a great amount of char(if you like char. I do) and the pulled pork sandwich plates are a great value. The sides are your usual BBQ joint sides –mac and cheese, greens, green beans –but they are well done and flavorful. There’s outside seating as well as inside tables and the location is easy to get to. I am reserving the 5th star because they do not serve beer and sometimes you just want a cold beer to go with your BBQ… but for the times you are satisfied with sweet tea, then Henry’s is your place!

If this is the best thar Greenville has to offer for BBQ then go to the next town. The pulled pork looked like it had been passed through a meat grinder then steamed and it had no taste(the roll with sausage was better). The chicken was a huge disappointment(just a hunk on white meat) and the ribs were overcooked and also tasted like they were steamed. overall a huge disappointment perhaps it was one of there bad days.

Incredible BarbieQ and you just can’t go wrong with the sides. There was limited indoor seating so my friend and I had to sit in the 90° heat and sweat it out, but the food was worth it.

Henry’s was recommended to me by a client in the area. I had the pulled pork and chicken platter with baked beans and cole slaw. The pork was good, the rest not so much. The chicken breast had no flavor, no smoke ring, nothing, it was simply baked chicken breast. The beans tasted like they were from a can and the cole slaw was just shredded cabbage with no dressing. The mild sauce was the saving grace for it all, I smothered everything in it. I’ve had BBQ in central Texas, Kansas City, the Carolinas and Memphis. I’ve had truly awesome stuff but sadly I wasn’t impressed at all here. Updated on June 20th… I’m removing my stars on this. It should actually be no stars but Unilocal won’t let me do that. I haven’t felt right since I ate this food 5 days ago. The nausea passed after about 8 hours but something still isn’t right inside. Coincidence? Maybe, but I will not go near this place the next time I’m in Greenville.

The very local BBQ shack is operationally slow, but is service with a smile. Indoor seating is not super plentiful, but if it is a nice day, there is seating available outdoors. The group consensus was that the pork was the best choice, whether it was a sandwich or plate. The chicken was just a few pieces of small chunks of chicken. The Brunswick Stew was okay, but nothing memorable and made with frozen vegetables. Macaroni & cheese was said to be «just OK» while the potato salad and sweet potato casserole were the favorites. Henry’s is a great hole-in-the-wall type of spot that makes a visitor feel like that have had a taste of local southern BBQ, which can be a fun spot if passing through, but not a place to go out of your way for.

Busy good BBQ food is what Henry’s does right. I got the two combination pulled pork and ribs with mac and cheese and sweet potato casserole. Mac and cheese good I’ve had better from My mother ;), sweet potato casserole was probably the best I had in my life. Loaded with brown sugar and an interesting touch of walnuts. The meat was amazingly rich moist and tender. The ribs fell off the bone no need to bite and each table has three sauces for you to taste. How to be successful at Henry’s 1.Come in 2.order at the front 3. sit down and get ready to chow down!

This little joint is fantastic. I have enjoyed it since my time in High School. My friends and I would go in after school for ribs. They are the best fall off the bone ribs you will ever have. They also do Holiday orders and their bar-b-que is very. Nothing like the smoked flavor in all of their dishes. I have never had a meal here that is was not fantastic. If you work in downtown Greenville it is a perfect place to run in and pick up a quick lunch. You will note this because when you walk in at lunch time you see many coats and ties. Take my advice on this place it rocks!

Amazing delicious southern bbq. Henry’s doesn’t have much seating(28 inside and a few picnic tables outside) and it fills up fast and often. I was glad to find a place to sit when we wen and a few minutes after we arrived the place was packed out. Order: 2 regular sandwich plates. In the south they don’t say pulled pork or beef brisket, it’s just«sandwich plate» so the pulled pork is implied. Sides Baked beans & sweet potato casserole Fries & macaroni and cheese Everything was delicious and the sweet potato casserole was AWESOME, Paula Deen would be proud. There were 2 bottles of bbq sauce, one regular and one hot. I didn’t care for the hot as it didn’t taste good, the regular was unique and not like regular bbq sauce.

We have passed this place a few times and every time the place is PACKED! So we decided to stop for ourselves and see what all the fuss is about. When we got there the line was out the door!!! I decided to order a Combo Platter and got: pork, ribs, slaw and the sweet potato casserole. When my food came I was SHOCKED! There was so much food on my plate! The sweet potato casserole is a must! It is by far the BEST I HAVEEVERYHAD!!! The slaw was yummy and reminded me of the slaw my mom-mom used to make. The pork was good, not as smokey as I typical liked it and the ribs were good but again could use a little more smokey flavor to them. Now, I am not a big BBQ sauce person but I was a little disappointed to find that they only had vinegar based sauce. I like them a little more sweeter but they weren’t bad and I did add them to my ribs. Keep the yummy food coming!

Definitely a great place to get authentic Southern BBQ. The combo plate with 3 meats is a huge meal to finish, I would recommend getting it for 2(unless you’re unbelievably hungry). Overall, the exact place you need to get good smoked meat in South Carolina!
