Crow’s Nest Restaurant & Lounge

Fun place! We stopped here while on a trip through town (on a recommendation for the pizza). The pizza was decent, but the bartender Derek was above and beyond — friendly and accommodating. Enjoy the food and the atmosphere but go for him!

Dirty and cluttered locally appreciated dive bar. Despite the clutter and aged interior the place has good bar food. Taco Tuesdays are popular with $ 1.00 per taco. Just want a beer and a pizza with the guys… This is your spot. Any special requests on food items are unwelcome. Don’t try.
Not for kids or clean freaks.
Oregon lotto gaming and a pool table somehow fits amongst the clutter.

When my friend found out that my fiancé and I were going to spend a weekend in Gold Beach, she told me that I HAD to try the fish tacos at the Crow’s Nest. The tacos were truly something special, especially when you drizzle the hot sauce over them. We stayed long enough to be serviced by two pleasant bartenders who kept us quite entertained with conversation about the history of Gold Beach, and served up generously poured drinks to wash the tacos down. If you are passing through Gold Beach, definitely hit up the fish tacos at the Crow’s Nest!

First of all, I believe there is a place for everybody no matter who you are… unfortunately this is not a place for me.
I am sure it is a great place to hang out. I am sure the food skyrockets past the competition (several people told me it’s the best pizza in town). And I am sure the drinks here are superb. But I also know that if you have no idea why minorities have any issues in our society then you should come here and be among others who think like you.
In other words, my review is political, unashamedly.
I met the owner and his wife… she seems quite nice. The discussions going on in the bar however were not. After listening to the owner’s views I will exercise the same god given right he has to his opinion to take my business elsewhere…
Which is too bad, I really wanted to try the pizza.
Besides, he charged me $ 2.50 for a club soda…25 cents more than the PBR I got at the Sea Star down the street.

Great pizza, phenomenal drinks, even better ambiance. Good conversation too. This was quite possibly the friendliest «townie» bar I’ve ever been to. Every person in the establishment was nice to us out-​of-​towners.

For an interesting unique ambiance in a small town bar, the Crow’s Nest would come high on my list on the South Coast. Great view from the bar stools. High on my culinary recommendations at this bar I’ve eaten at many times would be the pizza, fish tacos, and 2fer Tuesday tacos for $ 1. No frozen crap served here. It’s made from scratch by a chef that knows how to produce food people enjoy eating. Parking is around back so go downhill at the light and into the first alley. You will get your money’s worth on drinks here.
