Breakfast Service is fine. Food is ok. Well done in all respects but two. The place is frigging COLD and the crappy music is too loud for breakfast at 7:00 in the morning. All complaints are met with«I can’t control the temperature.»

It’s your average breakfast, prices are pretty average for a hotel breakfast. Wait staff was attentive.

U.S. Customs and border patrol deported half the kitchen staff the day before we stayed at the resort and attempted to eat at the café. How is it that company as large as Landry’s has this problem? I ordered a BLT, bacon lettuce and tomatoes. Easy right? I think not. After and hour waiting, it showed up without lettuce or mayo! Lettuce? Really? It’s a f$%^ing BL“T”. I will never again fall victim to eating at this place again. Don’t waste your time or money. There are great places all around Galveston to eat that offer better food and better service.

A great choice for breakfast, whether you’re staying at the San Luis or not. It’s worth stopping by even if staying at one of the other hotels. The staff provides attentive, personal service. Absolute best choice is the seafood omelette, which is always delicious. Perfectly cooked every time, stuffed with shrimp, crab, and smoked salmon, topped with swiss cheese and avocado slices. They do have a breakfast buffet, but we prefer to order from the menu. Best breakfast on the island!

The Café is a great place to eat for people who are staying at the San Luis hotel. I’m not sure I would go out of my way to eat here otherwise. PROS * Dining In — Staff is incredibly friendly and attentive. They ask for your name when they seat you and then proceed to refer to you by name. Nice touch. Drinks were always full, approached me at the right times, etc. Free refills on drinks. * Room Service — Room service food was quite good. I got the California salad, and found it to be of really high quality. I also got the tomato bisque soup. That was good but very fattening(you’ve been warned). CONS * The food I had when I ate in restaurant was sort of «eh». I had the lunch buffet(Italian food) for $ 15.95. The salad part was pretty good. The main entrees reminded me of a cafeteria. They had pasta that was way over cooked and mushy. The lasagna looked like something the lunch lady would glob onto some poor kids tray. If I ever go back I will definitely not do the buffet and just order a salad or something. Lesson learned. 5 stars for service, 3 stars for food(4 if just taking the room service into consideration).
