Definitely hidden! It was fun just trying to get there! Not much for interior looks & small, but the food was good & reasonably priced. The blueberry pancakes were huge! Mrs. Kitty came out to greet us & to check if everything was to our liking. :-)

This place wasn’t anything special, the food that the cook kept bragging about was very plain. The burger I had was very dry, slow service. Not going back nuff said

Only recently found out about this place. I heard it was good and I certainly wasn’t disappointed. I ordered for delivery, fried catfish basket. The food was amazing! Very prompt obviously just prepared still hot. The fish was perfect, the fries perfectly seasoned, hush puppies perfect… and then there was fried green tomatoes. Outstanding! I also have enough for tomorrow. So glad I found this little Island gem and definitely will be making a sit down dinner visit soon.

This place was really awful… and it takes A WHOLELOT of bad things to happen for me to say a meal/restaurant is awful. My husband & I went to Kitty’s for breakfast about a month ago. Except for Kitty’s, we have eaten breakfast at every place on the island that serves breakfast, and were excited to give it a try. To get there it’s kind of a twisty turn-y path to find Kitty’s inside The Victorian’s condominium complex. If you are a disabled person(as I am) it’s a bit of a walk plus an elevator ride to reach Kitty’s. The atmosphere is very dated. I’m pretty sure the paint, the carpet, and the decorations have not been touched since the early 1980s. Upon entering no one was around to seat us so we just kind of stood there waiting — not sure what to do. There was only one table occupied with customers and they were kind enough to let us know it’s a ‘seat-yourself’ protocol.(A sign would be helpful.) After sitting for several minutes, a gentleman in plain clothes(meaning he wore no apron, name tag, or anything that would distinguish wait staff from customers) came out asked if we wanted coffee and gave us our menus. Here’s where it began to go south for me. After preparing my coffee as I do wherever we go, I took my first sip. I feel — in my mouth— a big«glob». A mystery substance. Freaking out, but in the most discrete way possible, I spit the ‘mystery substance’ out into my napkin to investigate. The cream I’d put into my coffee was spoiled resulting in some kind of teaspoon-sized curd. Stifling my gag reflex, I said to myself«OK. It happens. I can forgive this. Let’s move on.» I notified our server and asked for new coffee and creamers. As per the menu, I was a bit disappointed in the selections. However, they offer up your average homemade-type breakfast options and prices are reasonable. My husband ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese on toast ‘breakfast sandwich’. It was nothing special and quite unremarkable. It looks very much like what a person would make at home. I was hungrier than my better half and ordered a pancake breakfast. This consisted of 2 pancakes, 2 eggs, 2 bacon etc. We waited a very long time for our meals – which was odd because there was only one other table(family of five) in Kitty’s besides us. As we waited, two more couples came in, were seated, and given coffee. After about 20 minutes I was becoming impatient. The newer customers were getting coffee refills and we were kind of forgotten. As I had mentioned before, Kitty’s wasn’t busy. We needed our meals or refills of coffee… well, BOTH really. I looked at my husband inquisitively wondering why our server didn’t seem to notice us. It was sorta weird. The tipping point came when the newer arriving couples received their food. I was just about to wonder out loud if I had taken crazy pills, when our server suddenly saw us and commented, «Yours is coming right out.» So out comes our food and it was just terrible. It was cold. Not one thing on the plate was warm-at all. Butter wouldn’t melt(or soften) on my pancakes. I picked up a pancake and it was rubbery. I tried to tear it in half and it was, for a pancake, not easy to tear. Moving on, I took a bite of egg and it too was ice cold. The plate was warmer than the food on it. I decided I could not and would not eat this meal. My husband, who said his sandwich was also cold, had no problem eating it because he was really hungry.(That’s my man!) We told our server(when we finally saw him again) about our food. By this time my husband had scarfed his sandwich and was finished. He was done. Our server offered to have my breakfast re-made. I declined. My husband was finished & we didn’t want to sit there any longer. After a bit he came over with the check and said, «I comped the coffees since your food was cold.» Wait, what? My coffee had a spoiled glob within it that ended up in my mouth! My food was cold, the pancakes were rubbery. I managed to down ONE bite of my breakfast before handing it back and we get comped for 2 coffees? Really? NORMALLY I would ask to speak to a manager. NORMALLY I do not pay for food that I don’t eat(nor should I or anyone). NORMALLY I give an establishment the benefit of the doubt — like if it’s super busy, or if my server is overwhelmed, or if it’s usually a good place to eat etc etc. I would NEVER give a bad review EVER if the place tries to right the wrong and is empathic about my experience. We are not wealthy people by any stretch. Our one(and usually only) fun thing that my husband & I do, is go out to breakfast on his day off. IF our budget allows. Paying for my inedible meal-(which we did) was painful. It left me feeling disappointed & if I’m honest, a bit hurt. I do NOT recommend this restaurant. In fact, I warn anyone who is considering eating at Kitty’s to do so with caution and keep expectations low. Perhaps lunch and dinner is better, I’ll never know because I will not return

This was the most delicious home cooking that I’ve had in awhile. The chicken fried chicken sandwich was to die for and the catfish was really good as well. We ordered the fried mushrooms and were very pleased. The atmosphere isn’t the best, but the food definitely makes up for this shortcoming. The staff and cook are friendly. Yum yum yum

Amazing home cooking. Wish we had heard about it sooner. Kitty is very sweet, and really enjoys cooking for people. You do NOT have to stay at the Victorian to eat here… seriously stop by for a meal… it’s worth it and you won’t regret it.

Difficult to locate, but, but worth the search. Located in the center of the Victorian condo & hotel is a really great little place that will remind you of real home cooking. All meals are individually prepared from scratch with fresh ingredients. You may have to wait a little longer for your meal, but, when it arrives you will gnat and why it took a little longer. I have eaten 3 different meals here and each was like home cooking. The fries pickles and green tomatoes are fantastic. Had the roast beef over Texas toast and this is not the normal processes need, but, real shredded beef. The potatoes are real and work gravy are a meal in themselves. Breakfast can be had anytime and the omelets with 3 eggs are sure to please. Grits were nice and at the right consistency. Fresh fried catfish was tasty and breaded with cornmeal. The fish was flaky and fresh. Having eaten at other restaurants in Galveston, dollar for dollar you won’t find a more reasonable establishment. With a tourist area finding a gem like this at a responsible price is unusual.
