Nice selection of wine and craft beer at this spot. And, their baked brie is amazing! If you’re in the area definitely worth checking out.

Trendy dim lit Tapas type place with a good wine list. NOT a place to bring kids. All the tables are bar height except for a few. For a Tapas type place, the portions are on the large side. Approximately $ 10/dish for a «largish» appetizer and $ 10 for a glass of wine. Solidly good food, but nothing exceptional for the price tag(hence 4 stars instead of 5). Laid back but friendly staff.

Good wine selection, good food, and best of all everyone is so nice. Great place for GNO or a date night. Love their baked brie!

A perfect place to drink wine, eat bread and chat with friends at a cute setting. We started off with a glass of red wine, baked Brie, grilled flatbread, and pesto pasta. All for two girls! The baked brie was so addicting! I love how they give you a lot of bread for dipping, and some sliced Granny Smith apples. The grilled flatbread was simple but very tasty. I hate cherry tomatoes but on the flatbread it gave it amazing flavors. The pesto pasta was a little salty but still really creamy and yummy. Me and my cousin sat outside and the environment was so relaxing and everyone is so friendly. The day we went there was a nice birthday table set up outside and all of a sudden we see a lady playing the violin and a man proposing to his girlfriend!

Great service and the food is phenomenal! Wish they had more high top tables for larger groups but nonetheless it’s great to enjoy with your friends. The brie bowl is so addicting and you can’t stop eating it! I had the pesto pasta and added chicken and it was so good! I can’t wait to come back again and try something new because I have a feeling I can’t go wrong.

1. Food/Drinks a) Wine: For wine lovers, I recommended trying out this spot. I think they change up the wines since I can no longer find the one I had. b) Manchego Meatballs: This may be the best meatballs I’ve had. Good quality meat drenched in a mouthwatering broth. c) Garlic Basic Pasta: Nothing special 2. Décor: Classy spot in DTF 3. Price: A littler higher, but you pay for the ambiance. 4. Service: The service was great and even though there was a wait, we were welcomed to sit at the bar and enjoy water and wine before getting our table.

Asked for almond or nuts after kitchen closed and says«kitchen is closed». How hard is it to go open a can or jar of almonds and serve them to a long time patron!

There are two separate issues that I would like to address. One may be out of the control of the Twisted Vine. The other, is entirely within the control of the Twisted Vine and its staff. 1. My girlfriend brought her passport with her as identification and it was not accepted. Fair… I understand there are incentives to follow rules, so this isn’t necessarily the Twisted Vine’s fault. 2. The female employee who dealt with us, however, was entirely rude and handled the situation in the worst way possible. Let me begin: The moment we entered the Twisted Vine, we approached the female employee hoping to find a seat. Upon seeing us, she immediately displayed on her face that she did not want to seat us. We were a group of 24 year old people, so maybe we don’t fit the typical crowd, but we were not boisterous. We just wanted some quality drinks. We all began to show her our IDs, and my girlfriend only happened to have her passport on her(an American passport, mind you). The woman immediately says«We can’t accept that because it doesn’t show your height and weight». Since when to height and weight have anything to do with drinking age? But that’s beside the point. Before saying anything else, she began to take away the water glasses that she had just put down on the table. Our entire group was slightly flustered because the remaining four of us were still going to get drinks anyway. Then, as if it were blatantly obvious she said«I can’t serve any of you». She did not say sorry. She showed absolutely no form of sympathy. Twisted Vine, how can you allow yourselves to keep an employee who is not the least bit friendly? Now to add some background: — This isn’t a new issue. Mackenzie P. left a review on 4÷13÷16 and mentioned the exact same thing, and it probably was the same waitress. — My girlfriend and I have really enjoyed the Twisted Vine in the past. The guys who work the bar have always been extremely friendly, helpful, and informative. And the drinks are great! — My girlfriend has used her passport as identification at the Twisted Vine before To reiterate, the issue is not the policy, the issue is in the way that the situation was handled by a certain employee. If the Twisted Vine is a quality business, they will do something about this.

I have read all of the reviews, and took them with a grain of salt… This place was perfect for my wife and I. The service and food was excellent! Big props to all of our servers, but Brent made us feel like an old friend. He really made our time memorable. He was knowledgeable and… just attentive enough where it wasn’t intrusive. All in all, a hidden gem. We will be coming back soon. One of our new favorites.

Nice atmosphere with dark wood floors, and a variety of comfortable seating options: counter-height tables, low tables, sofas, and patio seating. For this first visit, we went for a single glass of wine. Attractive menu offering a decent variety of wines and beers, and food items. We visited during a quiet time of the early afternoon; I’d love to return when it’s more active.

I am just now getting around to writing this review, and it pains me because I was a fan of Twisted Vine at one point. I keep putting it off because I had been here before a couple of times and had a great time with great food, no complaints. My most recent visit to Twisted Vine was what changed my mind completely about this business. Let me start from the beginning. A friend and I walked into the restaurant on a busy Saturday night. We put our name in to wait for a table and everything was great up until a woman with short brown pixie hair asked us if we wanted anything to drink while we were waiting. Clearly we were the youngest people in the restaurant, and I think she noticed that since there was a definite lack of respect when she took my ID to check my birthdate. I carry my passport card with me at the moment since I misplaced my driver’s license, and have used my passport card at Twisted Vine before with NO problems. She looked at my ID completely dismayed and told me that Twisted Vine does not accept passports as a form of identification. Her words were… «Passports are not for drinking… Just so you know. I’m going to have to check to see if we can accept this. I know we never accept these as a form of ID.» She walked away to the back of the restaurant to check with somebody to see if she could serve me a glass of wine. At the same time I was thinking to myself… ‘Are DRIVER’S licenses solely for drinking??’ Last time I checked they were meant for driving. The lady was gone for a solid 8 – 10 minutes before returning and reluctantly accepting my passport card as a form of IDFORDRINKING. She also let me know to «Don’t come back here and try to use that again.» So great, we get to sit down at the bar(which was not seat yourself, strange and I noticed it confused customers who showed up after us.) and order our food. Everything was fine again until we saw the same brown haired pixie woman behind the bar pouring glasses of wine for herself! We saw her drink at least two glasses of wine and she also finished off a couple of beers after pouring them for customers too. And that was just in the short time we spent there. We were in complete shock watching her behavior at what we thought was supposed to be a classy joint. Needless to say, brown haired pixie woman ruined my experience with her rude customer service and unprofessional behavior. I’d be reluctant to come back.

Planned an engagement party here site unseen. Going off of recommendations and Unilocal reviews. Jeff was very easy to work with and responsive. We hosted 50ish people on their patio and I was so happy with how everything turned out. The patio has a great ambience especially for an evening event, we had floral arrangements for the buffet table and regular tables as well as votive candles. I really liked how we didn’t have to do a lot to dress it up which was great. We had heavy apps, a pasta dish, dessert bites, and assorted wines and beer. The staff were great, Jeff was on top of everything. No wanted for food or drink. Food was good. Super happy with the event and I felt it was all really well-priced.

Great lounge, perfect for girls night or date night. They don’t have tables to accommodate parties larger than 4 unfortunately. Our group had to squish a little to fit 5 at a booth table. For wine, I tried the tempranillo — delish, full-bodied, and lush. The server was really helpful with wine selection. Ask if you need help and recommendations. For food, I would order again: baked brie, chorizo empanadas, and pesto pasta. Our group shared the chocolate fondue. It was decent and plenty but it’s not a fondue. It’s melted chocolate in a sauce dish. Just so you know what to expect cause I was surprised when it came.

This place is awesome, especially for date night! My husband & I stopped by for apps before heading to the movies & we couldn’t help but wonder why it has taken us so long to come here. The small charcuterie plate was wonderful & the service was great! We will be back!!!

For a place that has an average wine list and mini bites to accompany it, place gets 4 stars. White wine flights for $ 15(3 varietals) and red wine flights for $ 20. 5 meats cured plate was similar to a Costco Charcuterie pack! Their baked Brie was very ordinary and bland. Not sure why I loved it so much years before? It’s a good carb loader esp when wine is involved. If you’re looking for a dinner place, head out and pick another joint or you’ll be disappointed. This place used to be my hang out spot back in my college years and yet, 9 years later nothing has changed aside from a few servers. Come check this place out before or after dinner. Music isn’t too loud and atmosphere is very casual. It’s dark but your eyes will adjust!

***400th review*** My fave go to wine bar though the service is a hit and miss. Sometimes stuck up but I still love this place. The wine flight changes weekly or bi weekly, I forget, but always good. Most of the food I tried of the many times I visited are good with a couple of hit and misses. Their wine list is decent and you can find some good wines at a decent price. Atmosphere: Lounge type feel with dimmed lighting. Cozy and trendy. Price: $$ Service: hit and miss Food: Mostly good Drinks: Decent wine list and craft brew on tap or bottled The many food I tried during different visits: Baked brie(4⁄5) $ 14: comes in a bread bowl with bite sized toasted bread and apples to dip. Creamy and yummy. Manchego Meatballs(3⁄5) $ 10: Meh… did not care for this. The meatballs come in a pot with a toasted panini type bread to dip in the sauce. I just thought it was ok. Short Rib Panini(3.5÷5) $ 11: The panini was cooked right and the short rib was good but for me it was not amazing or memorable. Chipotle Pasta w/chicken(5⁄5) $ 12: This is by far my favorite dish here, I could finish it all myself. It was creamy with a nice kick in every bite. Yum! Chorizo Crostini(3⁄5) $ 6: It was ok, the bread was overly toasted and each bite tasted burnt. PB&H Panini(4⁄5) $ 7: Interesting but the combination is good. It can be quite heavy and is good with the red wine flight. The service here can be very good or completely off. Sometimes the servers are a little pretentious but most of the time they are quite nice. They do have a lot of foot traffic and its always packed on weekend nights so I dont blame them but still Im always happier when i get them on a good day. Overall a 4⁄5 in my book and fave wine bar in OC when I am visiting DTF.

Came here for date night. It’s a cute little place, dimly lit. We order both flights of wine, red and white. I don’t really drink wine so it was nice to try out a bunch of different type. The food and service is great as well. Highly recommend this place for a date, especially if you or your date likes wine. They also have a lot of bottles of wine you can buy so if you like the wine you tried you can buy the bottle, which I think is pretty cool.

I definitely was surprised and upset that I didn’t try this place sooner! A very cute wine bar, and very yummy bites to match! 2014 Domaine du Tremblay Sauvignon Blanc | Quincy, France Portabella Mushrooms — $ 12.00 Sautéed mushrooms in our garlic cream sauce, served over sautéed spinach. Beef Empanadas — $ 10.00 South American style beef empanadas served with a creamy chipotle sauce, Mama Castillo’s recipe. Chorizo Potato Empanadas — $ 10.00 Flaky pastries stuffed with Mexican chorizo and seasoned potatoes with a cool cilantro dipping sauce. All are highly recommended — but the most recommended has to be the Portabella Mushrooms! The broth dipped in the bread was out of this world!

I love the Baked Brie! My friend and I have started coming here regularly. Just for the baked brie. That’s how good it is! They also have a really nice selection of wine and beers. But honestly, I’d come here even if I didn’t feel like drinking. again– for the baked brie. I’ve also tried their artichoke bread, pesto pasta, and a salad I don’t remember the name of. They were fine– the pesto pasta was a little on the bland side. The service is pretty good! The waiters are really nice and they promptly bring over your drinks once you’ve ordered them. The lighting is a little dim here, and although I think most people are OK with that– I’m sure there are people who find it annoying. The noise level is fine, you can easily have a discussion with your friend(s) without raising your voice– something that’s a little harder to do at other bars in the Downtown Fullerton area. The price is just a little high though, so this place is a nice«treat yo’ self» for a poor college student such as myself.

Came here for a bachelorette party around three and it was totally empty. It was a nice change to come to downtown Fullerton early, when it’s not so ratchet and college towney. The owner gave us a hard time about sitting on the couch. He said those are reserved seats but our group was literally the only people in the restaurant. He eventually warmed up to us and gave the bride to be a free glass of champagne and gave us a tip to not tip on the tab because tip is automatically included in a large group tab.
