Went with our hiking group after a morning bald eagle hike at Millerton. I had the Machaca with a Pacifico to re-hydrate. Chips and Salsa were really good. Service was great. Machaca was great. Price was right on. Love the trees on the patio. Great meal. I will be back soon.

It’s okay. A little pricey for what you get, but all in all not bad. Attentive service and sitting on the patio on a rainy day was cool.

Parking here is very limited sometimes it’s hard to even find a parking spot but its so worth it i even parked down the street once to walk and get food The fresh chips and salsa are so good they give you endless supplies of it The staff are very professional and nice and the food is so delicious and fleshly made so thank you for whoever makes the food because you deserve a raise its so good lol You get to choose if you want to eat inside the main part of the restaurant or the back i always choose the back beause its more open and the booths are very comfortable

I have never experienced worse service in my life and I will never be returning to this location. I had a to go order made and they left out two of the items I purchased so I call nicely and let them know and the manager on the phone was very unprofessional and rude. She called me a liar and kept repeating«im pretty sure I put them in your bag .» I just wanted the items I paid for that they accidently left out and didnt ask for anything more after the inconvenience of them leaving my food out. They wouldnt reimburse me my money and denied giving me the two items they left out. I do not recommend this location and they lost a loyal customer. I actually spent 30.00 this morning and they left out my two carne asada burritos and couldnt give me the 7 dollars back or remake the part of the order they left out. DONOTGOHERE ! The manager Maribelle called me a liar when shes the one who made the mistakes.

The food was pretty good but unfortunately the parking lot was so full that we had a park one block away. It was about 8:30PM and we didn’t realize that we were in the middle of a bad neighborhood, it was a fight rubbing outside the parking lot and we had to scramble to get in our cars as soon as possible and get out of there. Recommend not parking one block west of this restaurant

This place used to be better. Dinner last night was one of the worst Mexican food experiences I’ve had. The asda was over cooked, dry, hard, and way too salty. The rice had no flavor at all, and the beans were just OK. The worst part is they stopped making their own chips and went to hearing up pre made corn chips. The wait staff was very friendly and responsive and for that they 2 starts.

Excellent service, good food, bad ambience /location. The restaurant is located right on Blackstone, situated very close to the curb. When you go in, you will be asked if you want to eat inside or in the patio. Both times that I ate here, i chose to eat inside instead of the patio. I feel that when the cars get a red light on Blackstone, people watch me eat. Also, there’s just too much traffic noise… it’s a bit scary. I havent tried eating at their patio, but i probably should next time. The food is good. I love their enchilada verde. The rice that came with it is really yummy too. Their burrito is also yummy. Would definitely come back here again

We have so many choices for good Mexican food in Fresno it’s hard to say which is the best. I have to put this Toledos and the one in Mission Village in the top 5. What makes this location special is the covered patio area. Reminds us of being in Mexico although the food is more Tex-Mex and not traditional Mexican, in my opinion. Generous portions, great atmosphere, good service and a tad bit above the average cost but worth every penny.

Stopped in for a snack and a couple of margaritas. Interesting layout for a restaurant, small restaurant in front, maybe 8 or 10 tables, no bar area. A waitress directed us to the rear of the place into a somewhat air cooled patio(still no bar to belly up to) with lots of tables. Busy father’s day, we were warned of a 20 plus minute wait for food, but we didn’t wait but maybe 5 minutes. We only had margaritas, chips, salsa and guacamole and shared a tamale. Margs were a concoction of clear liquids. I’ve never seen clear lime or lemon juice OR marg mix for that matter, these were clear like sparkling water and tasted okay, but certainly not like I’m used to. Next we «braved» the cucumber watermelon marg, not a fan, tasted like a Jolly Rancher candy. Chips were good once we asked for and added the hot salsa. Guacamole was tame, nothing like the guac served in some of my fav So California Mexican restaurants — it had onions but no «umph», no spicy jalapeño or Serrano peppers and not a hit of cilantro of which I think is essential to any guacamole recipe. Tamale was packed with meat, but lacked the earthy taste of masa. Masa surrounded the tamale, but hardly had any taste. I consider this the type of Mexican restaurant that’s attempting to cater to what they think Americans want in Mexican food. This one is a miss, but service was fantastic and quite friendly. Ample parking, easy to find.

As soon as you walk in the cozy atmosphere invites you in. You have the option to go to the patio if you chose to. The chips and salsa was mediocre at best but the cocktails did make up for it. On the dinner menu did give you a choice of soup or salad, I would highly recommend choosing the soup. The entrée of carne asada tacos and enchilada was delightful. Overall it was above average Mexican food in the Central Valley.

The , I almost want to return to Fresno just to have the Famous Fajitas!!! There chef’s specialty comes sautéed in a secret sauce that is «to die for»! The service was great, and the atmosphere«outside under a tent» really worked. Only problem was no Guinness. I know it’s a Mexican restaurant… but come on, most Irish pubs serve corona and Dos Equis ! The monstrous portions came at a fair to low price… that’s is the major factor in my late review. I just waste twice as much dough for a mediocre sushi experience, and remembered to give credit where credit is due. I will visit this establishment every time I’m in town!!!

This is my go-to Mexican restaurant in Fresno. I’ve been to the Clovis location as well, but I prefer the Blackstone spot for its tiny-inside-huge-outside seating contrast. Want to feel like you’re in one of the smaller satellite towns in the valley and not busy Fresno? Sit inside, there’s only 10 booths! Want to feel like you’re in a treehouse? Sit outside, it’s a whole other world! Okay, food talk. I’ve had the enchiladas, flautas and sopes. Once I went sopes it was hard to order anything else. My suggestion: add carne asada. You won’t regret it. Hubby usually gets the campechana and is pretty content. It’s the valley, so the stuff is likely frozen, but that’s how it is in the ‘No. On this day, we had our first Toledo’s breakfast. I ordered the Martha’s special, which was 2 chorizo and egg enchiladas with sour cream, served with rice and beans. It was satisfying. The hubby had huevos rancheros and cleaned his plate, then mine. The servings are not huge; prices are about $ 9 – 14 per person without drinks. Standard, solid Mexican food.

This is a great place to eat mexican food or have a cocktail. I often go here whenever I am in fresno. The portion sizes are great for the price. The chips and salsa are amazing. I recently tried there breakfast this morning for the first time and it was so good. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves mexican food like I do :-) Service is excellent and the patio dinning is a must never hot nor cold always a great atmosphere.

Delicious, yet overpriced food. Had the chili colorado burrito plate… it was GREAT!!! No lunch specials on Sundays, and the cheapest meal on the menu was $ 11. I really like their patio area. Would have loved to try their margaritas, but figured I better stick to water if I had to pay so much for the food.

What a wonderful restaurant! Many, many times we have passed by Toledo’s on Blackstone in Pinedale, but had never stopped as we headed for a favorite spot somewhere else. We are very glad that we finally did stop. We spoke with an outgoing couple on our way in, to see what info we could glean. The advice we took was to sit in the patio. Good advice. We may have missed it had we not known about it. A pleasant surprise met us when we walked into the patio area. Reminiscent of Mexico, I immediately was taken back in time when I visited similar places south of the border. The nice ethnic music helped. «Cucurucucu»(sp?) was playing and bringing back a lot to me. Several trees were growing through the roof, adding to the patio aspect nicely. We noticed everything was nice and clean. Service was quick, and as it turned out, plentiful and pleasant. The ubiquitous tortilla chips, served with a tasty pico de gallo, were differentiated from the norm. They were delightfully dusted with a spice blend that made the chips quite unique to any I have previously eaten. I could not identify the spice and when I inquired as to what it was, I was told it was a house secret. Maybe someone knows and can clue me in. Our order came quickly — there were still chips in the bowl — and accurately. Wow! Everything was soooo good. We each had the lunch special which consisted of two choices of entrees along with beans and rice(7.49). Choices of meats for the entrees were many, and not all are readily available elsewhere. My wife chose a Chili Relleno as she so often does, along with a pork tamal which came with Chili Colorado sauce. The masa was spiced nicely. Yum! The sauce was a bit picante for her taste, but very good to mine. Her Chile Relleno was great! Nice, light batter with a «cool» chili inside and the most delicious sauce I have ever tasted on a Chili Relleno. My order consisted of a cheese enchilada (which I most often order the first time I eat at a Mexican restaurant, mainly to get a handle on their food. I figure that if the cheese enchilada is exceptional, the probability is high that everything else will be also). I really enjoyed the cheese enchilada and the sauce it was bathed in. I also ordered a Carnitas Burrito. It contained a decent volume of tasty Carnitas along with chopped cabbage. I added some of the Chili Colorado sauce and it was BOMB! The beans were better than most. Neither of us tried the rice, but the way everything else tasted. I probably should have. My wife ordered a small flan($ 1.99) For dessert. Delicious and nicely spiced also. Holy Toledo! What a meal! Overall, OUTSTANDING! A true 5 star experience! We won’t pass by as easily in the future, and We hope future experiences will be as rewarding.

2 ½ stars. Place is pretty Americanized. Food isn’t great. I ordered the camarones empanisados and wasn’t too impressed with the shrimp, the rice nor the beans. The flour tortillas weren’t anything much either. I did like their chips and salsa and they have a much hotter salsa in a big bowl on ice out on their patio. That sauce isn’t bad. That’s pretty much it.

There were two huge pieces of hair in my meal. That is horrid. This means that any time anyone goes to this restaurant there is a chance hair will be in their food. Also the manager and office declined to refund my food, showing greedy business technique. Horrible food experience overall.

I’ve heard their chips are fried w/lard. I do love how they give chips and salsa and refill it w/o having to ask. We sat in the patio because the front restaurant was too dingy looking for me. The patio was kind of cold so I chose to sit under the heating lamp. Toledos is restaurant style = more expensive than don pepe or your taco truck. I got the 3 item dinner combo w/sopes and a cheese enchilada. They sub meat w/boiled beans and our server kindly informed me the refried beans also had lard in them. It cost about $ 13 for my entrée. Their sopes were delicious. It’s pretty Veggie friendly to a degree. Had a good date night there!
