I am not pleased with this dentist. I have a history of going to the shoddiest dentists for the cheapest work. This was no exception. Somehow my mom had wrangled a 10% discount if we paid in cash and they would pay us back if we got insurance because they would bill the work then. Either way, the 10% discount was not worth it because when I was getting a cavity filled, I felt Dr. Gu start drilling in my other tooth and pull my mom into the room to show her the cavity she had discovered. When I told her that I felt her drilling the tooth, she told me that it was because she had to drill the cavity so my mom could see it. When I asked to see the x-ray, she told me the tooth in front was blocking it. I was way over 18 at the time, so I don’t see why she couldn’t have told me and had to go to my mother instead. Stupidly, I needed a root canal on one of the teeth that had a cavity. She left the needles in my mouth and went to work on another patient for an hour without telling me that there were long needles in my mouth to kill the roots. I found out only after I started falling asleep in the chair and my mouth closed in on the handle of the needle. I went to the bathroom to take a look in the mirror and was horrified to see that there were needles in my tooth. The root canal was compromised, and on top of that, Dr. Gu wanted me to do this expensive procedure because she claimed that there was not enough tooth left to put a crown on. I went to another dentist and a crown was put on without any problems and the expensive procedure was unnecessary. Granted I am not a dentist, however I personally feel that my experiences were not positive and even questionable and I would not recommend this dentist to anyone.
