Attended a baby shower and enjoyed the food and wonderful customer service. You must try the vanilla cannoli cake. It was to die for!!! Will definitely go back!

Great local spot with a unique atmosphere, wonderful staff, and delicious food. We’ve been thinking of going to this place for a while and it was worth it. The food is prepared the moment you order so everything is fresh but that gave us time to overindulge in appetizers which were amazing as well(lobster bisque was the best). Entrees were terrific as well with the Oxtail stew having a great spice taste to it. Desserts were wonderful even if we didn’t think we had enough space(the pear in wine was phenomenal). Dhanny and Joe were great to be around and made us truly feel at home in their kitchen. Definitely recommend to anyone.

I hosted my BFF’s Bridal Shower here on December 20th and it was the best decision we made when choosing the right place to host such an important event. Danny was so helpful and accommodating, she was so wonderful and even helped with decorating the room. Her husband was delightful and the food was soooo good ! … Thank you Danny for all you did for us !!!

I was there for my son birthday, 15 people, a friend my racommand this place. They gave us a comfort table and we tried a lot of dishes. I am a very traditional guy and I ordered fresh mozzarella as appetizer and salmon as main and they were” squisiti.“But what impressed me was the genuine hospitality of the owners Joe and Dhanny which makes big difference when you go at the restaurant.

My wonderful wife, Pam, and I had a great time here last night. The food and drink were top notch and the service even better. We highly recommend it and look forward to dinning there again soon. Thanks again and happy birthday again Dhanny! Ryan

I’ve been here for 2 different events: a 1 year old birthday party and a bridal shower. The staff was very professional both times. Food was good. Drinks could have been stronger. The space is big and kept clean. One of the parties utilized the outdoor space which was really nice on a sunny day! Worth looking into for private events.

Clean white linen on the tables, an open kitchen in the back, friendly service, great, inventive food, what else can anyone ask for? It is only open for dinner but they do parties so call before you go. Joe shops for all the food so you know that everything is fresh/This place is a treasure! Go Joe and Dhanni!

Came here for birthday dinner for Mom. It was a great meal. We shared a Cesar salad among three of us. It was a great portion with one of the best dressings I’ve had. I am picky when it comes to Cesar’s but they did a great job! I had the Pappardelle with curried lamb ragu, and yogurt lime sauce on it. Yes! Mom had the grilled chicken with artichokes. She loved it, but knew she would love it since she’d had it before. Friend had angel hair pasta with spinach and plum tomatoes in garlic sauce, instead of the tomato sauce that is on the menu. The food was fantastic and the service was great. We did not opt for dessert since we were all full!

I went here this past Friday night(1÷23÷15) for a delightful chef’s table event at My Kitchen Restaurant. I had come here with my boyfriend to support his brother who was part of this intimate dinner of about a dozen people. His brother was the one who helped with all the wine pairings. As the wine choices were described to each diner, Joe would come out after each dish was served to explain why he chose to make that dish and to chat with diners. It was great to get personal with both Joe and Dhanny as the night progressed. All of us were gathered for a chef’s table dinner based on wines from Brooklyn’s Red Hook Winery and a 5 course dinner that complemented the wines the owners, Joe and Dhanny, had chosen(some favorites of theirs). This was not only a showcase for a Brooklyn winery but a showcase on spectacular cooking and entertainment provided by the lovely owners. We started the evening with small talk and a drink before getting seated at a beautifully decorated table for the guests. Our first course were two pizzettes that were extremely delicious and paired well with the riesling. They were a roasted flame seedless grapes with fresh(homemade!!!) ricotta and fresh thyme pizzette and a homemade uncased chicken sausage with roasted menindee grapes and a smoked gouda pizzete. The crust was crispy, the portion just right. My favorite had to be the first one since I am a huge fan of ricotta cheese. It was a light and pleasing start to what was a delectable evening. The next course was a grilled romaine caesar salad with fried oyster croutons. This course was paired with a savignon blanc. I enjoyed the charring of the romaine, a new thing for me and apparently new food trend according to the chef and owner Joe. I absolutely loved the fried oyster croutons as well. Our third course, and my favorite, was duck confit with fennel and sour cherry in an adorable cocotte. I honestly wish I can eat that dish everyday for the rest of my life. It was to die for. Duck confit is a favorite dish of mine and when I originally saw the menu listing for this event I was pulled just by seeing it on the menu. At first bite my breath was taken away by how succulent and heavenly this dish was. You could tell mostly everyone was a fan of this dish with how quiet the atmosphere got. The duck confit was paired with the first red wine of the evening, a cabernet/merlot reserve blend. I’m not a huge fan of red wines but it paired wonderfully with the duck. I was sad to have finished my plate but was excited to try what else the talented chef prepared. The fourth course of the evening was a blackberry and horseradish glazed lamb short rib with some grits served underneath. This dish was also paired with a red wine, a cabernet sauvignon. I am not normally a huge fan of lamb but this was pretty good. My compliments to you Joe. The glaze was enjoyable and you could only taste a hint of the horseradish in it. Our last course was a cheese/dessert plate. It included a white Vermont cheddar cheese, apple caramel goat cheese, a chocolate wellesley cheese(I believe but could be mistaken), a cranberry almond raisin crisp, and the scrumptious parmesan pound cake with kumquat marmalade. All of that was served with a sweet late harvest riesling. Each morsel was delicious but the standout was the pound cake. It’s an original idea to create a pound cake with parmesan and it was outstanding! The evening ended with some Italian dark roasted coffee and good conversation. I was sad to leave such a lovely experience. I cannot gush on about this place and the owners. The food is delicious and really showed the passion and talent Giuseppe has in the kitchen. Dhanny is a wonderful hostess who regularly checks in on each diner to make sure they are enjoying themselves. Now I was here at a chef’s table where Joe had the ability to be really creative with the menu. But from looking at their regular menu I know I not only need to come back but I wouldn’t be disappointed — it all looks so good! As their restaurant name suggests, it really does feel like you are at home with Joe and Dhanny. I would recommend this place to anyone who is a foodie, who loves feeling cozy and comfortable and welcomed. It’s great as a restaurant but does really well as a catering hall and private events(like this chef’s table) since they have the additional hall and a small deck out in the back. If you are looking for a good time, great food, and pretty much all good things come here and try them out, it’s a gem of a place! *I do apologize for any spelling mistakes!*

A friend and I had dinner here before going to a preview of American Sniper. Had eaten here several times under the previous owner and decided it was time to try the new management and were delighted that we did . We were warmly greeted by co-owner Dhanny, a delightful, warm and outgoing individual. She is so welcoming you feel as tho you’re in her home. The special on this Thursday was steak, which we both ordered. As sides, I had the parmesan french fries and my friend had the sautéed spinach with garlic. The steaks were cooked exactly as ordered and were delicious as were the sides. This is a great neighborhood establishment and will definitely be back. They also do catering which I would definitely consider if I had an occasion.

We had our rehearsal dinner here the night before our wedding. Dhanni and Giuseppe made the night truly memorable. From the food, to the décor, to the warm and welcoming vibe. Now coming here doesn’t even feel like a night out but rather like good friends are having you over for a delicious meal. You seriously cannot go wrong with anything on their menu. A hidden jewel in Forest Hills.

Amazing. Wonderful. Delicious. Caring. That’s right, I said caring in a restaurant review. Dhanny and Joe put together a 60 person event for our daughters first birthday with 2 days notice and KILLEDIT! They went out of their way to create a fun, personalized, and delicious evening for our extended Irish, Italian, Colombian family. We had originally planned a BBQ outside in the park, and when the weather forecast called for rain, I entered My Kitchen seeking some much needed help. Dhanny and Joe immediately put me at ease, agreed to host the event, and even provided us with a «bring the outside BBQ inside» theme for the night. Pork kabobs — outstanding. Sausage and peppers — best ever. Fried chicken — beyond words — chicken heaven on a plate. We are now not only customers, but based on the depth of this experience we are friends and fans! My Kitchen is now out go-to spot. Heading there for my birthday next Thursday!

Ours was an early group dinner for three dozen, in between funeral viewings on a Friday evening. The owners were very courteous making all the arrangements well in advance, setting the menu(5 entrees, grilled vegetables, rolls and salad, with coffee, tea, and cake for dessert.) Everyone liked the food considering it was prepared in advance of our arrival. I’d go back to try ordering from their menu. They opened early for us, cash bar was reasonably priced, and had plenty of wait staff on hand, even though the food was served buffet-style. We had the private room to ourselves. The husband-and-wife Owners were both on hand, and were appropriately charming, given why we were there. Other reviewers are correct: the décor is simple and charming; there’s no vestibule into the private room; it’s better to enter through the restaurant, which is much smaller. There’s only street parking on Metropolitan Avenue and neighborhood streets, so allow time for that.

went to a sweet 16 here. Going to start off by my first impression. Cute looking restaurant. Street parking only. Entrance for party room is inside the party room, no hallway or any type of space in between, which means there are guest tables rite by the door… burrrr! Party room is a nice size but says it accommodates up to 100pp online, i don’t see how that’s possible. Our party was probably 40−50pp and it was kind of «crowded» by the table area. They do have a nice outside area, but it was too cold for me to check out(I’m sure its beautiful in the warmer weather). Party room also had a nice size bar and small DJ area towards the back of the room. Very pretty, looks like it was just done,. Restrooms(i always mention) were single private rooms, one ladies and one for the boys, which kind of caused a small wait, but i prefer single rooms. the negatives– we waited really long for our food, we weren’t the only ones hungry! Wait staff was super young and looked like they were working there first party. My honey asked a waitress for a drink and she sent him to the bar? i was under the impression they were«waiters» but maybe i was wrong. food was not so great, very small portion, very plain chicken, waiters had really no idea what they were serving. Our choices were chicken or salmon both came with the same side. Side had peppers which I THINK a good waiter would mention, however when i asked the our waiter, he didn’t really know what was in the potatoes. we started off with a garden salad which was very yummy, but super basic. Overall: I have only experienced this place«party status» would def give them a chance«dinning status». Place seemed clean and was very nicely decorated, wish they had a parking lot, altho it wasn’t very difficult to find street parking.

Finally! New Owners. This new husband and wife duo are staging this lovely, warm establishment into the direction it should have always been. They are 100% outgoing and dedicated to your event of planning and both have the sweetest demeanor you may find in the business. Dhany will help guide and plan, so that you won’t feel overwhelmed. Joe, is a big ol’ teddy bear that can cook his heart out! Man, This guy can COOK! Our event took up the entire square footage and if went off w/o a hitch. ;) An outdoor patio w/soft lighting and a large tree that umbrellas over you, is a perfect setting for warmer temp brunch & dinners. The inner floor space should be utilized a little better, like the piano. it needs to go. The large indoor plants and cheesy canvas paintings on the wall needs to go. They need go take advantage of the large tree and add some funky hanging art & lighting. I see a lot of potential w/space like this and I can see Dhany & Joe moving it in the direction it needs to go and I wish them luck! Overall, FOOD5:5, WAITSERVICE4:5, ATMOSPHERE4:5, PRICE5:5 + the additional hospitality of the owners = 5

I rented the place out for my grandmother’s 80th Birthday… Big Mistake! The owner was very friendly and attentive while we were booking and he was taking our money however the night of the party it was as if Mr. Hyde showed up instead of him. I paid for open bar and the alcohol was watered down. Some of my brothers wanted shots and the owner was very rude when telling them shots were not allowed. He was also very rude to the wait staff, wait staff that should not have been bar tending because none of them were over 21. The food was horrible. It had no flavor and the paella that was made was raw and the sausage was under cooked. When told about the meat the owner said«it’s Spanish Style». My mother is a chef and she was like no, it’s raw and if you eat that you will get sick. Finally towards the end of the night he said we could stay until 11pm during the meetings at 10:30pm he shut the party down. When asked why he said I have a party tomorrow and I need to clean, while we were talking the youth waitstaff were sweeping and moving large garbage bags. This place was just horrible. Point Blank. Period.
