perfect place to be cozy for winter and chill in summer.

Great affordable food and healthy choices at this theater café next to the cinemas! The cheese ravioli, salad, bread and chocolate gelato were amazing and affordable! I will return the next time I’m visiting my friend in Forest Hills!

We enjoyed the food very much. Everything was delicious. The gentleman who runs the plAce was super friendly and substituted something non-vegetarian on the appetizer with something vegetarian. Would recommend.

I went there just to have a cocktail before seeing a movie next door. The atmosphere was nice enough, and the staff was friendly. However, I ordered an extra dry Sapphire martini, and I got the opposite. All I could taste was the vermouth. That drink is pretty much my standard order, so I know how it should taste, and this was all wrong.

Normally walk right past this place but today decided to check it out on our Metropolitan Neighborhood walk. First thing we noticed was the amazing coffee and alcohol menu! It’s like a café bar with couches and old school fireplace. The café is right next to the antique theater and it exhibits the same ambiance. We ordered a vegetarian crêpe(with added turkey for my crazy boyfriend) to split and was surprised at the portions! It was huge and delicious! Definitely not a romantic dinner spot but perfect for lunch or drinks! Amazing desserts as well.

My first time here. It was a warm night so we sat outside. The inside is nicely decorated and the bathroom is clean. I was a little disappointed that the menu was so small and that they didn’t offer fries with their wraps but the food was good. The service was a little slow, I’m guessing because it was a Tuesday night and only one waitress was on staff, but she was friendly enough. I’m still kinda undecided about this place. Looks like they have an extensive dessert menu though, might come back just for dessert.

The café adjacent to the Cinema Theater that we went to few hours ago after watching a movie. It has a theatrical ambiance, movie posters were hanged in the wall. Lounge chairs and bistro tables are plentiful. They have outdoor seating too. The has a charming vibes. A perfect place for simple gathering, get together or anything in your mind. The menu is simple, few selections but prices are reasonable. Foods taste were okay. It has big serving size. Employees are nice, very welcoming. They want cash for tips. I’ll come back if needed.

I thought this place was great! It was the first time I went there and I loved it. I loved that they have outdoor seating and wanted to sit outside but it was pretty busy, so we dined inside. The inside was pretty cozy and had a nice atmosphere. I went with my sister and she only wanted dessert but I wanted food as well so I ordered the Grilled chicken panini. I thought it was pretty good and it was made super fast which was great. Now on t the dessert, they have a good selection of desserts, so picking one was fun. My sister wanted ice cream and ordered the Classic Tartufo, which she really enjoyed. I ordered the Hazelnut Ganage and it tasted amazing! Overall, when I am back in NYC, I will be back to try another one of there delicious desserts and sit outside.

I love coming here. It’s not fancy but the food is good, the atmosphere is charming and the owner/servers are friendly. They are only open in the evenings/late afternoon during the week which makes this one of my favorite spots to come work during the evenings. I can order my favorite avocado salad with grilled chicken, some sangria and if I’m really hungry, one of their Mediterranean spreads with pita. Very reasonably priced and good quality food. Just don’t forget that while they do take cards, it’s cash only for tips. Sitting outside or inside, at a table or in a comfy chair, with friends or solo, this place is perfect for any occasion.

Chilled place to have a coffee… some little couches and even a fireplace they run in the winter… def relaxed… they couldn’t add the tip to my bill when I paid with a cc… which left me and the server both a bit uncomfortable… but I apologized as I did not have any cash on me and he said it is ok… but management loses a star on that… but great little place… carry a few bucks if your paying w a CC. Cheers!

I purchased a Groupon deal that came with movie tickets from Cinemart Cinemas and dinner from the Theater Café. The groupon came with two adult movie tickets, two entrees, two non alcoholic drinks, two dessert crepes and two coffees. The café was well decorated and the food was good. We ordered the ravioli and pizza which were both okay but the best part was the Nutella and fruit crepes. They were amazing… well anything with Nutella is great. What I really enjoyed was the fact that the Groupon allowed you to select anything from the menu. The service was good too. There was only one waiter on a Saturday afternoon which is insane. He was really good though and seemed comfortable handling everything by himself. I would come again definitely with the Groupon deal because it was so cheap.

Best kept secret in Queens! Great outdoor seating for summertime café hangouts ! Very reasonably priced, friendly and accommodating service makes you feel right at home. One of my favorite places to go to for a nice dose of Greek coffee while enjoying the Parisian style outside café.

Such a wonderful place to sit outside with your dog, drink a cup of coffee, and soak in some sun. The spinach pies, and hummus are delicious! The staff is hospitable, fast, and accommodating. CONS: They open at noon on Sunday. Wish they would open earlier so I could sit and have some breakfast after my morning walk.

My friend and I come here whenever we’re looking for a good local place with more drink options than just beer and wine. The food is great. We’ve had the Theater Café salad, penne vodka, vegetarian and Lebanese wrap, cheese raviolis, all of which were really tasty. Their drinks(especially their French Martini) are very good. We find the staff to be friendly, and not overbearing. The waitress will pop over on occasion, but not so often as to be annoying. Great place to sit, chat and grab a bite to eat with a friend(or friends).

Went here on a Groupon that had expired. It’s a cute place, nicely located next to the Cinemart Theater, so it must do well with the after theater crowd. I guess for that, I’d go for a coffee and a quite good warm chocolate cake. But I tried a Panino and it lacked what a Panino needs– flavor and a great bread. Perhaps I’m spoiled by Panino Rustico in Brooklyn?

Very disappointed. I used to come here a few years back. The menu isn’t very vast as I remember it to be. I had the theater salad which I was extremely dissapointed in. It taste like the salad was taken out a bag and put into my plate. Lack taste and seasoning. The chicken was dry also without taste. I came here with one other person who felt the same about her dish. Service was pretty slow and difficult to get a waiters attention. Won’t be visiting again.

RUDE. Unprofessional. The chic is so nasty. As expected… We ordered 4 drinks & the cappuccinos HADNOMILKFOAMATALL! I work at a café and she did it ALLWRONG + NOCARRYINGTRAYS do I look like I have 4 hands? She didn’t even give me back change… but she probably needs it more than I do… At least the janitor/cook whatever he was, was the only one nice enough to say good bye. They never have tiramisu either. And I’m pretty sure I got regular milk when I asked for soy #vegan I’m allergic.

Honestly so disappointed. My friend & I have our usual place on metro(nicks) but one day we realized it was closed. Next we checked Dee’s, also closed. So we decided to try something new, hoping it’d be decent. Last time I went into theater café the waiter definitely told my boyfriend and me that they didn’t really serve food, just coffee and alcohol. weird since now they seem to have a menu. Maybe he didn’t feel like serving? Anyway so my friend and I ordered chicken sandwiches, the sandwich is dry and basic. It does come with an option of mustard, honey mustard or mayo on the side. how adventurous. The menu doesn’t say anything about any sort of sides, they don’t have fries so when we asked the waitress she had an attitude and told us they come with chips. which is fine but maybe you should put that on the menu. The chicken seemed precooked and microwaved. It was eatable but nothing special. We also ordered soda, two flat cans for I believe $ 2.50 each. Paying too much for a can and then it being flat? The water came in tiny cups with drink mixers. we didn’t order tequila, so that was a little confusing. Why not just bring us a lime slice and salt for our water while you’re at it? Don’t know if they think they’re a café or a bar but the atmosphere was awkward and the waitress acted like taking our order was doing a favor for us. We were nothing but friendly and she still barely made any attempt to drop the attitude. Also, the coffee is all $ 5.00+. Specialty coffee is good but any place that calls itself a «café» should offer a regular blend. non $ 5.00 coffee. It wasn’t terrible but eh, not worth it. Maybe there are better items on the menu? I don’t know. Didn’t seem like too many options.

Walk by this place a few times decided as plan A eatery was closed for vacation to go here as plan b. So I walk in wait then a girl with short black hair walks in holding a phone and apparently was sitting outside. We finally get seated and handed menus had to ask the girl for specials instead of her informing us the specials. She tells me she has a foccachia panini for the specials our food arrives a foccachia panini Well a panini with cherry tomatoes nasty mozzarella overportioned and pesto no foccachia at all. I got the chicken soulvaki pita the taziki sauce was runny and bland lacking seasoning the oregano chicken was lacking seasoning no sign of oregano just bland and blah. Our food came with ruffle cheddar cheese chips and slice pickles it looked like food for a child would eat off a paper plate. Our water was warm and never got refilled no one came to hand us our check and were the only table occupied the waitress was to focused on cleaning tables instead of waiting on us also she picked up trash on the floor well taking our order at other times don’t they own a broom. We did not finish food and the girl never said thanks bye or asked us about food or wrap it up to go. Was awful will never go back and was my #1 most forgettable food experience!

Have you ever experienced this situation: A local eatery somehow evades your attention, you finally go, enjoy it thoroughly and gripe to yourself about having not gone sooner. As was my experience yesterday at the Theatre Café. Admittedly, I really didn’t see the location succeeding based on its sheer size coupled with the fact that Metropolitan Ave is a tricky area for food and beverage. A great restaurant can fall flat on the avenue and many have, much to my chagrin. The lunch menu is very extensive, with a Mediterranean flavor, forcing me to order two lunches. The Rustica crêpe was outstanding. Ham, cheese and mushrooms(which could have been sauteed a bit) was light, flavorful and inexpensive. My Greek Spreads or Sampler(not the correct name, soon to be edited) was interesting, but it did not fit the bill for a lunch meal. Pita points surrounded the Flipiti, roasted red pepper with feta and onion, ground into a purée. The Taramosalata had a red caviar base and ground up finely, then mixed with a creamed cheese of some smooth and delicious sort. The Tzatziki and Baba Ganoush portions, rounded off the four spreads. The Baba was missing some ingredient I can’t quite put my finger on, but it needed more of an enhanced flavor. Spectacular service, local, priced well. Yea, I’ll be back soon.
