Old fashion setting with great food. We had breakfast there twice during our one week stay in Flagstaff, Arizonia. The food was plentiful and great. The coffee was flowing with empty cups being filled before we had to ask. The waitresses were very friendly and attentive. If you’re in the area, stop in and have a bite to eat.

Good food, good service. I had old fashioned open faced beef and mashed potatoes, hubby had tacos. Both we tasty, and the mashed potatoes were real. Onion rings were worth the stop for sure. Would stop again.

I loved this place! Our breakfast was terrific and our server was very sweet. The décor is authentically vintage and I really liked the trail road theme. They even had a little train on a track chugging along the perimeter of the restaurant. And it’s so cool to see the real locomotives and their cargo roll by across the street! Anyone who wants a nice breakfast in a vintage setting should check it out.

I was in Flagstaff to see the snow of course from Phoenix then as the kids were getting cold and hungry we kind of just went here on a whim. This was an amazing place! the food was great(we had various plates), the staff was friendly(our server was slightly hard to find but got done what he needed to do). There is a train that the kids loved watching go in circles and we all loved their hot chocolate it was literally amazing! So without question I will definitely go back here next time I am in Flagstaff.

Stopped in with my wife and split the cheese enchilada with scrambled eggs and side of bacon. Good food for good price. Then I had the pleasure of talking to the owner about owning a business and all of the characters in and out that must be dealt with daily and keep a smile and friendly attitude no matter what. If only everyone had the non pleasure of such an impossible task. I lasted only 4 years and hurt no one but this owner has been at it for 20! Hats off to him and God’s grace on his life and business for serving so many for so long. Next time you frequent a business please remember the owners are humans too with usually a great deal of things going on and many folks depending on them for their livelihood!

Good food and price. Grandson liked model trains. That circled café. We got there at closing but the staff still took care of us. Plus a geocaching nearby

First off, this is a diner. This food is as expected, good quality and good service. My kids love the train then and it doesn’t get more Route 66 than being on Route 66, in a diner, across from the BNSF railway tracks.

Standard American diner fare, right on the Route 66 and next door to the hotel we stayed in so was an awesome stop. We ate dinner twice here and breakfast once and at no time were we disappointed. Cute décor felt like a throwback to the 60s and 70s, with a view of the railroad. Had the pork chops for dinner one night, the chicken fried steak another night. My husband had the meatloaf and fajitas. Morning was the short stack fruit for me and for him their famous 66 omelette. The portions are gargantuan so we always had some leftover to take with us. Would definitely stop here again. Servers were friendly and didn’t bother us while we ate(which is how I prefer to dine so I can enjoy my meal). It’s nothing fancy so just help yourself to a booth or table and get stuck in!

This past weekend the owner screamed«Get the hell out of my restaurant!» at me, my wife and my 10 month old daughter, as well as an entire restaurant full of people. Here is what happened. I asked if we had to wait even if we wanted counter service to which he replied«No» very rudely. I then saw several people sit down at the counter in front of a large crowd of us who were already waiting. After I told the owner about it he yelled and ask if I wanted to watch him kick them out. At that point, I knew that I wasn’t dealing with someone who was either patient or professional so I told him that I did not like his attitude. He then yelled and pointed his finger to the door and told me to get the hell out. I can’t remember the last time I witnessed such a display of childish and insane behavior from a man in his 50’s. The fact that it is the owner of the place makes it even more abhorrent. Some of the reviews on the post also mention the treatment that they received from this guy. If you go there during a busy time, I highly recommend that you have your phone cameras ready because no one will believe what a barbarian this guy is.

Every time I come through Flagstaff THISIS the must go to place for breakfast for me. Had the cheese enchiladas and eggs. Served w hash browns and perfect refried beans, it was like angels dancing on my palate! Monica is my favorite server. A consummate professional. Warm and welcoming, she is always ready with food suggestions should you want one. It was WAY too much food for me to eat and I would have taken a pic, however my stomach got the best of me and I just dove right in! Lastly, the atmosphere for a train lover is perfectly charming. Great coffee and homemade salsa!

Yep, old school, but it was five stars for customer service. Food was also good. Come on in!

Ate here with the kids while on a family vacation. The décor was stellar, the model railroad displays, with the BNSF trains rolling through flagstaff 100 yds away, were a really awesome touch. The food– Standard diner fare, with a few regional influences on the daily specials. Personally had the«Mexican» chicken fried steak and eggs, which I would recommend to anyone. This ended up being a chicken fried steak topped with a green Chile sauce instead of gravy. Other orders were more tame, food was good for the price. All in all, a decent dining experience with a great environment.

Ate here on a whim, we were tired and it is close to the hotel. Really good, better than I would of thought. I had salad, stuffed cabbage, baked potato, and corn on the cob. Everything was delicious, well cooked. Not over cooked. Hubby ordered ground beef patty with brown gravy and grilled onions, steamed broccoli and mashed potatoes with gravy. Also really good! Server Claire was pleasant, efficient, friendly. We liked to train theme and the electric train circling the ceiling track. We would eat here again!

My husband and I came here for dinner on a Saturday night; it wasn’t busy at all. It appeared to be clean and was decorated nicely. I enjoyed watching the model train drive by along the track above the dining area. I thought the food took a little long to come out, especially considering they weren’t busy. I really loved the flavor of the Chicken & Rice Soup. The Stuffed Cabbage was okay but it was a very hearty serving of food. The menu items were reasonably priced.

From the outside, and once you walk in, the Crown Railroad Café reminds you of something out of the late 60s or early 70s. And I can say the dining experience is the same. And that is not a bad thing at all. Back to a time when cooks knew how to perfectly make eggs over medium. Where toast comes out hot and freshly buttered. Where your coffee never hits bottom of cup or gets cold. And a place where the staff is as friendly as can be. This is no high style dining. But it is a perfect tribute to the art of American roadside dining. Do yourself a favor if you’re going through Flagstaff. Stop here. Eat. Talk. Oh, and the cherry pie and chocolate cake are both amazing. Don’t judge me for ordering both. Lol.

Food was really good, the toy train orbiting the restaurant was a really nice touch, my kids were more interested in watching the train than eating their food! The server was very nice and our drinks never stayed empty for long. The prices were nice, 2 adults and 2 kids plus a bit of carry out for the pets only came up to 44 bucks. Service is a bit slow, but I don’t hold it against them, they really need to hire another waitress, had one girl running the whole floor. Manager had to help out on the floor. I will be coming back, overall, a pleasant time with my family.

A diner on Route 66. That’s what this place is. It features diner food. We sat at New York Central table(they name their tables). We didn’t really arrive late, but as we were ordering we were told we got last bowl of soup. They were out. Which was annoying because TWO of us wanted soup. Seems odd they would be out when it’s only a bit after 7pm. They were also out of one of their specials(I forget which one). Server was friendly. Menu was as-expected. Food was fine. Nothing special. Just fine. I wouldn’t go out of my way to come here, but if I was driving by and wanted diner food I would stop here again.

Literally the worst place i’ve ever eaten in my life. The ambience of this place is super cute, but that is where the positives of this place end. Service can make or break an experience so we will start with that. As we enter as a party of 5, we stand for about 10 mins before greeted or even looked at by the two servers working in a practically empty restaurant. We are told we can sit wherever we want. So we do. We wait about 10 mins for someone to get us menus before we take things into our own hands and grab a few, after that someone finally approached us with menus and offered to take our drink order.(these menus by the way are possibly the filthiest i have ever seen, as if they had been passed through thousands of hands without being wiped down) we get our drinks and an entirely different waitress takes our dinner order. We wait for possibly 30 mins for our food, half of our party got salads prior after the waitress broke a plate in the kitchen. On to the food: eggs were burnt on the outsides and undercooked in the middle, all the meat(hamburger) was undercooked, and under seasoned, the onions they use overpowered my entire palette. The waitress forgot my friend’s biscuit and gravy until someone from our party walked up to the kitchen to point out the error… its a good thing we did because it was the only good thing that was served to us. Even reliving it in this diatribe makes me livid because even at the very end of the meal which we explicitly asked for separate checks the waitress wrote out 2 checks but had it all come to 1 total. DEFEATINGTHEENTIREPURPOSE. So avoid this hellhole at all costs.

What a great find! This place is amazing! One of the best Cuban sandwiches I’ve ever had! And even the Caesar salad was great! You can get breakfast all day also! The vibe is great and so is the service. I’m coming back for dinner! I don’t recommend the fajitas though.
