First time since they changed management. Saturday night. Arrived early about 5:45, Good thing as they filled fast. I was seated right away. New menu. Salad tasty but mostly lettuce. I like the house dressing. Bread fresh but not warm. Spinach and cheese ravioli took awhile to get there, and when it did, the marinara sauce was warm and the raviolis were cold. Tasty but cold. Waitress asked how it was and I told her. She offered to have cook make me more but I didn’t want to wait. Ate part of it and asked for a box to take the rest home. They did give me a 25% discount for the meal being cold; however, when I got home I opened the box and found someone’s spaghetti instead of my ravioli. I won;t be going back anytime soon.

I will never come back here again, the whole experience I had at this restaurant was horrible. The wait staff was unfriendly and ignored my several times. The food tasted like it came from a box. Just down right horrible. Never again.

We went in the late afternoon and enjoyed an afternoon snack. The calamari was far too light for the heavy sauces. We did enjoy our tiramisu but the whipped cream was far over powering. They need to make a big effort to update their food to keep up with the people visiting from out of town.

This has your everyday Italian-american food. Some of the Chef’s specials are great. The pasta is super fresh, but the sauces are usually a bit bland. Great ambiance. I like this place a lot for what it is.

Descent food. Bread great as always, although we did not get it until after our soups. A mix up in the kitchen with my chicken picatta delayed my dish, but the server was very apologetic and the kitchen fixed it fairly quick. Pizza, chicken picatta, cheese ravioli, shrimp bisque soup, and minestrone. It was all okay, but I really wanted that, «Wow this is great!»…the search continues…

Delicious indeed! BUT: what happened to the sautéed mushroom appetizer?! The Appetizer section of the menu isn’t very vegetarian friendly with all but two non-meat options which are garlic bread and fried mozzarella which is a bummer. It’s what I came for!

Decent food. Good service. They did just switch their menu to reflect the Arcata location. We had gnocchi, spaghetti and meatballs, and a creamy pasta with pancetta. Bread, butter, & olive oil are always good. Warm, crispy outside, soft gooey inside Italian bread. The herbed butter is delicious too. Soup and salad course was boring. Whatever though. Entrees were a decent size. Our party of 3 took home 3 small boxes of leftovers each. If I’m gonna be really critical, I’ll say the gnocchi’s were heavy, marinara boring, and pasta wasn’t well drained(MYPETPEEVEWHENORDERINGPASTA!!!) Mediocre meatballs. 3 of us had above with a $ 20 bottle of cheap wine, & our bill was about $ 100 with tip included.

Considering Italian cuisine is so known and extremely well done especially in California, a restaurant with this rep even in the backwoods of Arcata needs to keep up the quality. The menu looked and sounded great but the actual food was very average. The prices are closer to“fine dining” but the food is not quite there. We waited about 25 mins. to be seated around 6 pm on a busy«move-in» night. The space is nicely built, with lots of wood and greenery, a bar out front and one in back, there is a lot of varied seating but the front booths and window seats are probably the most desirable. The atmosphere is good for a group, and that may be the best part. The waitress was«new» and knew almost nothing about the wine or the menu. She was slammed by the onslaught of parents moving kids into campus so we can cut some slack. The ciabatta bread slices and garlic butter at the beginning was quite good. We got the vegetable soup with ham, average. Then we ordered a large, but got a small Prosciutto pizza, with gorgonzolla, it was fine but not special in any way. Our mains were the manocotti with red sauce, as well as liguini w/clams. Both were good and the best dishes of the meal, with real ricotta and fresh cheeses, and local clams. The house red wine, an adequate blend, should be better coming from N. California.(Sangiovese ?)

We were up in Arcata moving our son into a new apartment for school. After a long day we ended up in Eureka around dinner time. We had enjoyed a very nice dinner at the Arcata location last year so we figured we would have a similar experience here. Boy were we wrong. We did not have reservations and waited about 20 minutes for a table… no problem it was 7pm on a Saturday night… Once we sat down everything took forever to come… bread…salads …by this time we knew we were in trouble and we actually discussed asking for the check and leaving… after another very very long wait dinner arrived… food was so so but not bad… I would call it average Italian… but the service was so very terrible it just made everything terrible… similar to what many of the others have written… we will not be back.

The service was terrible! Our waitress has inattentive and got our order wrong 3x! We ordered no cheese … And everything brought had cheese on it! We waited incredibly long just for her to take our order and since we had to wAit for her to correct the food everytime. She promise to bring us free dessert … But never did!

We had not been here in awhile, and were really excited to have dinner. The service was poor our sodas ran out, the pasta had a funny taste like it was old, or maybe a cheap store bought brand. We had to ask for our check, waited 10 minutes for it finally got up asked the guy at the bar for it. The server finally came around with the check and tried to argue with us about why it took a total of 15 minutes to get it, after asking for it. Will never go back again.

I called in a order to go. The girl that took my order was very nice and sounded like she took down everything I specified I wanted. I showed up around 25 minutes later to pick up my order, only to find out, after standing at the bar for ten minutes my order was never placed. When I did receive my order, 25 mins later it was wrong. They were already out of salad for the night so had to get soup and then once I got home, I realized I never received the bread and butter with my pasta, which I love along with the salad !! Very disappointed with my dinner, it was not worth the time or my money.

I really try to see the good in places but this place is a pretty average Italian. I would recommend a deep cleaning of the restaurant and a bit more attention given to customers. We waited quite some time to be seated because the hostess was just MIA(place was not busy). As soon as the hostess came out of the back, 4 other waitresses did too very causally. Then we waited awhile for our dishes but they come to the table at room temperature. Bland. Sorry.

Food was good but the waitress was rushing us. I was shocked at the poor reviews. But overall, my husband and I enjoyed our meal.

They ruined my parents dinner date by barely paying them any attention until my dad was upset enough to walk out(he paid for the drinks and soups). The food is good, but it’s pricey for what you get and staff isn’t friendly or attentive. Won’t be back to this Mazzoti’s, go to the one in Arcata, it’s better.

For some reason a lot of people like Mazzotis but I’ve never been impressed. The food isn’t anything special having tried both the Eureka and Arcata locations a few times.

I used to love this place as a kid. I would beg my mom to take me for my birthday every year. Now as an adult i have went a few times and the service is HORRIBLE! the food is OK… but the main reason for my low rating is the last 4 times i have came(mind you i work right across the street from this place) they have been straight up disrespectful. for example. 1. when i called they put me on hold for 12 minutes! I’m sorry that’s unacceptable i could hear them through the phone talking and laughing.(no hold music haha) 2. told me it would take them 20 min. for my food to be ready, got there in 25min. waited another 30min. 3. when i got there i waited at the front door 15 min before anybody even greeted me. and there were 3 other party’s waiting also. the place wasn’t even busy. 4. the waitresses are snobby and rude. they sure do know how to make you feel uncomfortable and like a burden. they have NOMANNERS! THEONLYFEMALEWAITRESSWHOISEVENNICEANDACTUALLYDESERVESHERJOBTHEREIS A LADYNAMEDAMBER. but that’s one out of how many that treat you like crap? i definitely would not recommend this place to eat if you have a bad temper or anger problems you might slap-a-b**ch HAHA! hope this review helps

Great service & Good food! I’ve been in here several times with both small and large groups and had the same experience every time: excellent. I am a huge water drinker so I am a stickler about my water being full/filled up continously and they exceed my expectations. My favorite staff members are Trevor & Elani. They are always friendly and on top of it. Oh, and the cook Mercedez is excellent. I wish she was in my own kitchen. Good work guys! See you next time :)
