Charleys Philly Steaks

I love this place.
I’m from the east coast and this is the first place I’ve gotten a steak and cheese for fear of disappointment. Yummo.
First of all, the people working here are awesome. Not sure if every location has people that are so nice but they really are sooooooo nice. The manager there just gushes over my daughter whenever we go in and he slips me some oreos for her. he even asks first before just giving them so as not to interfere. This isn’t your typical «I hate my life and my job heres your food» kinda place… but if so-​they hide it well!
The cheesesteaks are awesome, and the Chicken cheesesteaks are awesome too. Their fries are always super hot and fresh. They’re very fairly priced. the toppings are pretty average, but you can put whatever you want on it. I definitely wouldn’t order to go as ive noticed when taking my time the sub roll got a teeny soggier then I would have liked-​but I’ve never had an issue inhaling the sub before its become an issue. I’ve never been to the other locations so I cant speak for them-​but this place is definitely a good one to go to.

I was here once years ago, but generally I tend to pass it by. The other day I was running errands nearby, and my first few lunch choices were closed (permanently or at that time of day) and it was handy, so I stopped back. Now I’m wondering why I stayed away so long.
Service was great start to finish. It’s not big or fancy, but it’s just a sandwich joint, after all. I had the bacon three cheese philly, regular size with fries, and it was amazing. Good bread, great meats, your choice of veggies, and plenty big for me. The fries were above average.
Prices were very reasonable for the quality. Everything was fresh and hot. Amongst the «fast-​casual» sandwich chains I can think of, I would put this at the top, then Jersey Mike’s, Penn Station, Potbelly, Dibella’s, Firehouse, Quizno’s, Subway, and Jimmy John’s, in roughly that order. I will definitely be back here.

Was just another sub shop nothing stood out to me the store manager was great though and very friendly.

First time here so I tried their feature sub, Chicken Teriyaki and my boyfriend tried the Italian. They were ok with flavor but, not the best. More bread than anything. Fries were pretty good and lemonade was fantastic. Staff was very nice and personable. Don’t think we will be stopping in again anytime soon.

They updated the interior since my first review. Very clean and fresh. Great food. Great service. Can’t ask for more from a fast casual restaurant.

Can we get a hell yea? These guys make an awesome Philly and it is consistant every time. The staff is very friendly and it is always clean in there. They have some great combos anf cool variations of loaded fries.

For a restaurant that sells grilled made-​to-​order subs, I was amazed how clean their kitchen was. All of their ingredients looked fresh, like they had just gotten it from the farm. They have a lot of different options to choose from, from chicken to pepperoni that are put on top of the steak. I’ve only been here once, so I can’t compare their current portion size to what it was before (someone said they’re small). But these are definitely not small! A «small» looked about 8″, medium is 12″, and a large looked like 16″. When I got my pepperoni steak sub, the meat was falling out of the sub.

The store has been remodeled within the last year or so. Unfortunately, prices are up and quality is a bit down. I had a bacon TWO cheese steak today. They forgot the third cheese.
I used to be a regular but rarely come in now. Too many competitors have better prices and better attention to detail. I come in here when I’m in a hurry because there isn’t much wait.

WUT. IS. THIS. PLACE.
I walk in, and I’m like… «This is not Charley’s, where am I?» It’s gorgeous, clean, modern, worthy of a spot on the Cbus food scene.
The service was friendly, and fast. Something was dirty, I let them know, they thanked me and promptly cleaned it.
And THE FOOD. Plus, they have a bajillion sauces to choose from.
Literally my only complaint about this place is that the table wobbled. That’s it.
I’m hooked.

Food is ok. It used to be a lot better. Portion sizes dropped as well. We left hungry.
I guess I will just go to firehouse.

Ugh.
The good: the staff is friendly, although borderline annoying. And it’s quick. And there’s plenty of seating. The fries were hot.
The bad: I’ve been in gas station bathrooms that felt cleaner than this one. Seriously gross. The sandwich was OK, not enough fillings and the «fresh toppings» tasted pretty bland and generic.
I’ve been happy with Charley’s in the past, but I don’t recommend this Sawmill location.

There are no better subs in the city. Without a doubt.
Not only are the sandwiches grilled in front of you, but you also get a sub card where you earn free sandwiches.
When I crave a sandwich, I go here. They may be known for their cheese steak… but I get the buffalo chicken. Very tasty.

Amazingly better than it used to be. Terrific/​fresh food. Customer service was second to none. I will be coming back often.

My father and I were looking to find some food quickly and we stumbled upon Charley’s. The restaurant is quite simple, you first place your order at the counter and the chef prepares your meat/​main portion. After placing the main into a bun you have the option of different vegetables and sauces.
It is inexpensive and the service is quick. Definitely appropriate if you need to pick something up in a hurry, but not too flashy.
