Does not matter how good the food is, they are way too rude.

I have only bought samosas from here both the chicken and vegetable ones. I prefer the chicken. It is spicy and very similar to Latin American empanadas. A white sauce accompanies it as well so it makes a great combination.

I went here during the past 4th of July weekend for a snack. I ended up getting 3 shush-kabobs from behind the front counter. Each were $ 5. Took it home, and it was extremely spicy, keep in mind I eat a lot of spicy food… Any way, I was starving and I though it would help if I used the white sauce it came with but, that didn’t help. My stomach was not the same for almost two weeks, needless to say that I won’t be going back there any time soon. I feel these are one of those places where people eat bad indian food and never want to try indian food again. So don’t use this place as a determination if you will like indian food because you will be doing yourself a big injustice. FYI– New Rochelle has some great Indian Resturants Also, they updated the inside a lot so, maybe their under new management.

This place reopened as a Curry/Kabob house. It used to be a takeout Indian restaurant. Not sure how the new food is or if is the same owner. Food was OK but the place was quite dirty, even more than my liking.) Took out some Indian pastries once, not bad but I have had a lot better.

Serviceable Pakistani/Indian food. They just got new steam trays and a new deli case for sweets, Looks a bit better. The girl behind the counter is much nicer than the man who preceded her, he is very gruff and rude by American standards. She does seem a bit terrified of the customers though, might be culture clash. The food is pretty good. We don’t really have another option nearby. I think it is better to get it as take-out because the dining room is poorly lit and poorly attended. The restaurant has a very good price point. The Chicken Tikka Masala is fantastic. I like that they don’t overdo the cream in their recipes. The goat curry was disgusting though, just tasted of fat(either goat fat or ghee I don’t know.) I will not order this again. If you order naan they bring one piece. Make sure you ask for raita(yogurt) because the food tends toward super spicy for most americans. Get a mango lassi too, these are excellent. The sweets are too drippy.

Rawal is a good resturant, nay cafeteria, that serves Indian food. Its a small place, but there are tables to eat in. I have only orderd take out. The menu has a tantalizing list of entrees, most under $ 6.99. Also most not available when you call. I am a huge fan of their paneer dishes, both aloo(potato) and paneer(fresh cheese) The goat is good, but very boney. Lamb a bit less boney. I have 2 problems with Rawal: 1) whoever answers the phone doesn’t add up your tab correctly. Totals can be anywhere from $ 2 to $ 8.00 off. 2) CHECKYOURORDERBEFOREYOULEAVE. So far we have been given rice pudding instead of white rice. Our chicken tikka was ice cold. I had to heat it up in a pan after serving myself. Sizes may be not what you ordered. Small halwa comes in as lg. A $ 3. Mistake. None of the entrees come w/rice. For an additional $ 3. You can buy a tray of very plain basmati rice, enough for 3 ppl, or 2 very big eaters. All in all, I do like their food. Rawal needs to tighten up its order taking and quality control. Letting an entrée out of the door ice cold is sort of hard to understand. But the food is really good, and is alone as far as good tasting, reasonably priced Indian take out. Also, the dishes are spiced very hot. I personally love it, but be warned.
