Larry the Locksmith and Hardware

I called in advance to set up an appointment to have my locked change on the co-​op I just purchased. Jacob came out today to change out my locks (that had been drilled out) & called ½ hour before arriving. Once he looked at the lock he realized that I had asked for the wrong thing. I had asked for the cylinders to be changed & I actually needed the full deadlock for the top lock. He, be fully prepared, had what I actually needed. Jacob went right to work, installing both the bottom lock cylinder & the top deadlock. He keyed them all to one key at my request & was done in an hour. Quick, efficient, knowledgeable & polite! Should I ever be locked out or lose my keys, he’s who I’m going to call to get me back in!

Review of the store, and not the other services offered. Friendly staff, always greet customers when they walk in. Helpful in finding items, tons of common household items and I have been many times for little odds and ends. Prices are great. Keys duplicated are done well with attention to detail and work like a charm.

I had a contractor come in and install a brand new deadbolt on my front door. He could not. It took him 4 hours and he still didn’t complete the job. I read the reviews and gave in and called Larry the Locksmith. JAMIE came to the rescue!!! Called me when he was on his way (within the promised time slot). Arrived with the business logo clearly displayed. Took off sand reinstalled the lock within minutes. Showed me what was wrong, and how he would fix it. He did the job and taught at the same time. I couldn’t ask for more! I feel like a proud educated customer. Jamie is friendly, professional and efficient. Larry is fortunate to have Jamie on his team

Jaime came out and got me into my apartment quickly after my jimmy-​proof lock broke. He was friendly and professional. He showed up in a reasonable amount of time within the arrival window. I like that they take credit cards right on site.

Jamie was amazing. I’m moved into a new place and needed the locks changed. The previous tenant only left the bottom lock key. Jamie was on time and completed the job very quickly. Also it was super hot and he didn’t complain once. I would definitely recommend him again.

Pricing was fair — not a ripoff like some other locksmith crooks). 3. They are licensed! Very important. You won’t always get that from a random Craigslist or Google Search locksmith. Jaime was able to show me his license from NYC Consumer Affairs. 4. They are 24 hours. I didn’t need them in the middle of the night, but if I’m ever in that situation — I now have their phone number saved in my cell. 5. They do high quality work, and stand by it. Jaime was 100% invested in doing the job right and making sure the lock and door was secure. And lastly, reason 6 — they’re in the Bronx! I love it when I get good quality work for a fair price from businesses in my own borough. A friend of mine recommended Larry the Locksmith, and I see why. They are the best!

Overall, pretty satisfied — they did a good job replacing my locks. Scheduled an appointment quickly, came on time, courteous, professional — the whole nine yards.
I also drop by every so often to buy something for home improvement projects, and they usually have it, for decent prices — and again, everyone is professional, polite, etc.

The locksmith, Jaime, was able to come early for our appointment. He was quick and very friendly. He made sure we knew all of the costs up front, and was good about explaining our options.

I couldn’t lock my door and I called Larry the locksmith, Jaime came and was very polite and informative on everything he was doing he explained why the locks wasn’t working and was very thorough in showing me step by step which I appreciated that. Based on existing reviews, I contacted this company to fix my medeco lock. Overall, I was very satisfied with the services I received starting with the young lady who provided excellent phone customer service and tips on how to troubleshoot the problem with my lock to the on site service provided by Joe, the locksmith. I would not only ise them again but recommend this company to my friends and neighbors.

My Medeco lock wasn’t working. Apparently, it was such a good model, that they don’t make it anymore. Jaime fixed the problem, and was polite and efficient. He cleaned up after himself with his own duster and dust bin. I had previously used another company, but now I am a Larry the Locksmith convert!

This review is a little late, but back on October 7^th 2014, I called Larry the Locksmith based on the great reviews on here. I was visiting my mom for the week and used The Club on the steering wheel thinking I had the key on me. I know… some people say using the Club isn’t going to stop anyone, but any little bit helps. Anyway, so I finally realized I left my key back in Toronto, Canada. Called CAA (AAA) they couldn’t help me. So I finally called Larry the Locksmith and they sent Jacob, who by the way showed up earlier than the time they gave me. He was very helpful, trustworthy, and friendly. They also took credit cards as payment, which was a plus for me. I definitely recommend this business for professionalism and service. *****

If you live in Co-​op City then you already know to go out and find your own locksmith! Well here they are.
I’ve used them on 3 occasions for different reasons (never a «re-​do) and always satisfied. Great staff and workmanship with pride. Great job you guys!

I called Larry the Locksmith based upon the wonderful reviews I read in Unilocal!I was hardly disappointed. Jamie came on time and removed and installed two lock cylinders. He was friendly and knowledgeable. He handled the job professionally and more importantly he explained the work done, the operation of the lock, tips on keeping the premises secure and the warranty. The entire experience was so refreshing compared to unprofessional encounters I had had with another area locksmith. Thank you very much!

After going on the Internet and finding «Larry The Locksmith» and getting scammed, I found the right Larry The Locksmith on Riverdale Avenue. Jamie came, fixed the work the other butcher (locksmith) had done to my door and was very professional. Great service, thank you!

Jamie came and installed a lock for us, and just like the reviews say, he’s great!
I have also shopped in the store, and it is nice to talk to sales people that are knowledgable about the products they sell. The guy who helped me actually told me how i could fix the problem with my kitchen shelf. He wasn’t all sales-​y about it either.
