Good coffee, but red head has a bad attitude. I also ordered a breakfast biscuit with«farm fresh eggs». Turns out it is cooked over easy and very runny. I wasn’t expecting that and personally do not like eggs that way. Sign doesn’t let you know that, but to be fair, I should have asked up front. Anyway, I politely asked if I could have it cooked more. Lady was rude.

Not my favorite coffee place in town, but there’s not much to choose from on the south end of Boulder for good coffees. They serve good coffees, but it’s expensive. It’s often very crowded at meal times, but the food is delicious, if they haven’t run out of what you want, which has happened to me several times. The menu options are pretty good, though small in selection, and kind of expensive for what you get. I’ve come for music nights a few times over the years, even booked in groups here for a few events, but I just don’t feel all that comfortable here. It’s not the staff or the patrons, but the atmosphere and the furnishings. It feels claustrophobic sometimes(when it’s busy), somewhat run down and cheap furnishings. They do have waiter service, I think, but this is only on the musical evenings, and I think only when there is live music. The women’s bathroom is often too cold and not very nice either. Free WiFi, but that’s not enough to keep me coming back. Finding parking can be very challenging. I really think they need better management.

Went for lunch — food options were limited, and not very good. Feels like a converted salon, not a cozy café. Run down furniture, chipped paint — not

Caffe Sole is a hidden gem in South Boulder. I come here regularly for morning coffee, lunch, drinks at night, you name it. They have a great kitchen, and everything I’ve ordered has been wonderful. I really enjoy the atmosphere as well… Usually there’s a great mix of all age groups(kids to seniors), young professionals working on laptops, people having good conversation, and the occasional student. Lots of tables and good wifi. Not a ton of power outlets, but you can usually get a table near one if you need it.

I love this place. I have been coming here since I was a kid living in South Boulder. I have recently started coming back as I am now back in the neighborhood. The pastries are insane. All homemade and incredible. The poppyseed rolls have become a family favorite and I dream about them regularly. The almond croissants are also dreamy. The staff is friendly and efficient and I love that they have live music and serve alcohol. The only feedback I have is the coffee they use tastes really acidic or burnt. I thought it was just the espresso at first, and maybe it was just a bad pull – but I tried the drip and it was just as sour. I keep trying but the coffee just kinda sucks at no fault of the baristas. But the food and atmosphere are great!

I had a really good egg biscuit sandwich here a few months ago and went back recently for the same thing. It took 35 mins for the food to arrive(with a burrito for my friend) and there weren’t many people there at the time. No one seemed to care about the delay. We had to ask about our food after about 25 mins and got a cold shoulder kind of response. The sandwich is good but I’ll probably find somewhere else to go where they care a bit more.

Went here on a Saturday night to eat and listen to live music. Was greeted at the door by the owner who was friendly and welcoming. The Eggplant Parmigiana(just $ 10!) was very good – not ordinary, and my wife’s cobb salad was full of fresh and delicious ingredients. The atmosphere is very pleasant inside – lovely art on the walls, candles at your table, flowers and plants abound and perfect warm lighting. The music was fantastic and the crowd was laid back and mellow. What a great evening. The chocolate mousse was fluffy but not very choclatety, but that is the only complaint. Will definitely return.

The service at this place is atrocious. I went to the counter to order my drink, an iced macchiato with caramel, at which point the snotty barista with long hair with pastel streaks, buts in and loudly says, «um, I can make you that Starbucks drink, but it’s a vanilla latte with caramel,» in the most condescending voice she can muster. I just looked at her surprised for this unprovoked rudeness, and told her just the caramel with shots on top please. She makes the drink and makes it hot, which was not what I asked for. Ordinarily I might let it go and just drink it, but because she knows soooo much about coffee, I decided to ask her to make the drink I actually ordered. She then starts arguing with me about how what I’m really asking for is two plain shots of espresso with caramel over ice. I carefully explain that I would like milk, caramel, with the shots on the top over ice, aka a macchiato with caramel iced. So she pours espresso shots over ice, puts in about a tablespoon of milk, squirts some caramel on top and wordlessly pushes my cut across the counter at me. I would never go here, unless being insulted by surly hipster baristas is your thing. Do yourself a favor and drive literally anywhere else, even Starbucks for crying out loud, and don’t waste your money at the rudest coffee shop in Boulder.

One of my favorites in Boulder. I love that they serve beer *and* coffee. so, you know, you can caffeinate yourself and then get drunk. No judgments here. I went last weekend, not only because I love Caffe Sole, but also because it’s a Boulder Passport venue — buy one, get one free. I love sitting outside, over-caffeinating myself or imbibing in the local draft of the day. The view of the flatirons is pretty great and it’s a place where you’re just damned glad you’re alive. A shout out to the nice barista who helped me out… even though he made fun of me for being super tired at 9pm. :)(I’m getting old, folks.) But, thanks, Chris!

Independent coffee shop with the coolest staff. They know what they’re talking about, can make recommendations, and are so nice to boot. The space is giant so you can be anti-social or as friendly as you like. They have the standard coffee drinks, homemade chai, a nice range of tea, brunch food, baked goods, AND alcohol. I’m sold.

I came by this place, to recover from an earlier horrible dinner and mighty this was a saviour… especially with some awesome jazz music to windup the day. Nice place, enjoyed the music.

This review is for the live music night. I gave 4 stars for breakfast in a previous review. This is a small spot, unpretentious where you can spend a nice evening listening to live music while enjoying some surprisingly good food at a very reasonable price. Caffe Sole has a nice selection of wines and beer on tap. Our waiter was very friendly, ready to offer us tastes of the beers on tap. We started with the goat cheese stuffed jalapenos, very good and homemade(like everything else on the menu I assume). My husband had the gnocchi bologna which was delicious, I had the polenta, a little less of a success but still very tasty. We ended with a chocolate mousse and a raspberry tart, both very good(especially the warm tart), and big enough to share. This was a very pleasant way of spending the evening, nice atmosphere, good food and wine, and great music. We’ll go back for sure!

Servers were not rude, but certainly not friendly or conversational. The cappuccino was bitter(I think the espresso was over-tamped) Finally, they decided to close for some reason at 6 o’clock, which was a surprise to everyone there. Again, not quite rude, but they certainly didn’t seem happy to have customers…

As a rule I visit restaurants/coffee shops /Bars 4 – 5 times before I Unilocal any reviews on a place. The counter service needs an overhaul first or it won’t continue to draw a strong and consistent crowd. It’s located on the back side of the mall on the south end of Boulder. My biggest suggestion is for them to close for two days and clean /scrub the entire place clean. It’s extremely dirty and the staff doesn’t clean as they go ! YIKES ! Best regards, John

2 stars because they have the best chocolate croissants and decent coffee. They obviously don’t make them there but the bakery they get them from knows what they’re doing. Otherwise, this place would get no stars! Yes none! The service here is hot and cold. You order at the counter but sometimes they’re just busy chatting up a storm that they forget they’re working and you’re just left standing there. And I believe this is the owner, not just a worker. If they don’t want want people running to corporate chains, they need to step up to the plate and offer decent counter service. I do want to like this place as it’s close to my house but as it stands right now, it’s not possible.

I am not a real fan of planet Boulder but when the urge for an eclectic fix comes on this isn’t a bad place to land your rocket to hang with the aliens. The food is farm to table. Very small portions but awesome taste if you have a taste for organic and interesting food. Nice beer, wine, and coffee selection. Sadly, tonight is the last night of open stage blues and jazz. I’ve been coming regularly and really enjoying the exceptional talent. I am going to miss the one arm bass player and amazing vocalists that come through the door, step up to mic and proceed to blow your mind After my music fix and contact high I will return to my spaceship and return to normalcy. If you are in the area it’s worth the stop and if you love watching people(aliens) it a must see on music nights.

This is by far one of my favorite spots in boulder. I love the café, I love the restaurant, I love the bar, I love the patio, I love the food and I absolutely LOVE the people. Everything I like about a relaxed atmosphere and an attentive staff. The music. I highly recommend it.

3 different perspectives. Short few word review from each: classy, tranquil and mature. Coffee ok not the best Americano ever but not bad either. Jazz night was a quiet laid back scene. I’ll be back.

Café Sole is so much more than coffee! My hubby and I LOVE the transformation this little shop has undergone in the last few years… from coffee shop to breakfast and lunch joint, to jazz bar, to REALLYFINEBISTRODINING, all under one unassuming roof. I also commend the owners for making it happen on their own time scale… they seem to have a sense for when the neighborhood is ready for the next step… and then jump! Now…about that fine dining. I’m really not kidding! I eat out quite a bit, and have had at least one of my top 15 dinners at Café Sole. Creatively and thoughtfully prepared food without pretension. A loca-vore flair. Delicious flavors, an in-tune wait and bar staff, reasonably priced wine list. And it’s in South Boulder. What’s not to like?

Whoa! Not at all what I expected. I used to stop here fairly often for a cuppa caffeine and a yummy pastry but now I have to re-think Caffe Sole’ as an upscale bistro with a lot of Farm-to-Table items on a new menu. I came in to see a friend play and to grab a latte and maybe a scone? Instead I ordered a charcuterie and cheese plate app with a roasted three bean app too. I picked the Spanish chorizo as the salumi and had the chef select the cheese. Tasty, but miniscule portions. The three bean app arrived shortly there after and it looked great but… wow was it salty and I oversalt everything! So this was a first for me, I sent it back. The waiter apologized and came back and said the chef apologized and would cook me another right away which he did. It was as tasty as it looked. I finished and was waiting for my check that did not come but in all fairness, they were fairly busy. I walked up to the register and a different server again apologized about the saltiness of the dish and said that they took it off the check! I really appreciate that they not only corrected the dish but did not charge me for it either. Thanks! I will be back to sample more of the menu now knowing that one of my favorite coffee shops has now become both a coffee shop and a deluxe little restaurant with great live music as well.
