My 92 year old mother has been seeing Dr Gupta here for a few years now for her macular degeneration and has been very pleased. I go with her several times a year. Initially she went to a «big name» group in West Palm Beach, but the commute and busyness of the office was proving stressful to her, so she decided to try Dr Gupta who was much closer to her. This turned out to be a good decision. She finds the visits much more pleasant(if you can call getting a shot in your eye pleasant — though she is a trouper!) in large part due to Dr Gupta’s kind, patient manner. The office is well-run and his assistant Crystal is also very good. I’m an RN at a major Los Angeles medical center for 34 years so I am aware that a doctor’s «niceness» doesn’t always equate with their competency. But in this case, I believe it does. Foremost, is that her vision has not deteriorated, as one might have expected. Thankfully, she is still able to read many hours a day! I appreciate that he truly seems interested in her well-being and not just in generating more business. He has often told her she can skip an injection some months depending on her exam. He also has stressed to her to not hesitate to call him if she has any concerns, that he would not consider it a bother. He strikes me as conscientious, respectful to his patients, serious about his work, but not above sharing a funny story about his young daughter!
