I gave this location of America’s Best two stars for a few different reasons. I made a same day appointment for an eye exam for contact lenses. It was the day before Christmas Eve, so it was awesome that I could get in with such short notice. The pre exam check and exam itself went well. I think the doctor started out at the prescription the glasses were that I wore in, and I had asked them not to because the glasses I wore in were from years and years ago and were like my back up to the back up glasses. Whatever. After the exam was done we sat down to place my order with Josh(I had picked out two pairs of glasses while I was waiting to be called in to the doc). Josh was pretty shy, or reserved I guess you can say. He didn’t offer his name, we had to ask for it. He was just was very reserved. didn’t smile, didn’t try to engage in small talk. He didn’t sound confident in the sale packages he was trying to tell us about. His customer service skills could use improvement. He might have been a newer employee so maybe he just didn’t know the packages very well. I ended up getting the three year package thing. Which is awesome. It came out to a little under 200 $(two pairs of glasses, 6 months of contacts, and exams for 3 years). I live in Chicago, and was in Boca for the holiday, so we added on shipping for them to send my glasses to my home. This is where the problems really start. I was told my glasses would be ready from the lab in approx 7 business days(was told this December 23rd). I called them Saturday Jan 2nd I believe — to ask for a tracking number on my package. The woman who answered the phone(don’t know her name but she is the only one with a Spanish accent) said they would probably be sending them out that day or Monday(Saturday the 2nd or Monday the 4th), and would leave a note for someone to call me with the tracking number. I had another question for her but she ended up doing one of those«thank you have a nice rest of your day» thing while I was saying«wait, I have another question, wait…» CLICK. She hung up on me. Monday the 4th, I ended up missing their call, they left a message. So I figured it was them telling me the tracking number and that they would be in the mail that day, arrival of the package would arrive at the latest Wednesday the 6th or Thursday the 7th. I didn’t bother checking the message which is my mistake. Friday the 8th I still hadn’t received the package so I checked my voice mail for the tracking number. But it didn’t have the tracking number. It was the Spanish accent woman saying that my glasses were ready for pickup. Pickup??? What is she talking about?! My mom called them to find out what happened(she paid for everything). Turns out the charge didn’t not go through on her card for some reason. It wasn’t denied on her card cause they let us leave with the contacts. I think Josh didn’t do it correct in the system, he did ask for her card a second time because he didn’t do something correct the first time though. Anywho — she went in on Saturday to pay for the glasses and make sure they had my address correct and to also get the tracking number. Ed the manager apologized about the issues. Said something about him being a relatively new manager of that location. He was trying to change up the staff because they weren’t that great or something to that effect. It’s now Tuesday the 12th. I was hoping to have my glasses today since Two day UPS shipping was paid for. Nope. Expected delivery is by the end of the day tomorrow. Which means they didn’t bother sending the package out or had it picked up till late Monday or Tuesday morning. I know I wrote a book, so thank you for reading. It really was just a subpar experience at this location. I’m sure others have had no issues at all. I’m sure other locations are over all better than this one. I sure hope so anyway because I paid for the three year package. Haha.
