Found Goodys on Unilocal and stopped by for a late lunch. Let me tell you; this place has AMAZINGLY ridiculously good cheese steaks and their fries which is served in abundance are the kind of fries everyone adores. Crispy zesty seasoned batter fries fluffy and soft potatoe inside… mmmm. But the cheese steak was amazing! Its simple and not over mayoed(i got it with L/T/M grilled onions) It must be the way they season their steaks bcuz the flavor was out of this world bomb. Hands down best sub bread evaaa! Blew my mind. Think soft dinner roll meets a french bread roll… I mean. the bread is really worth bragging over. I was trying to figure out if I liked the sub or the sub roll itself more than the other as I ate the WHOLE thing. 10″ of deluciousness ! You will never go wrong with Goodys ! I will be back for sure ! Mmm Yumtown

Solid pizza. Reminds me of the 99 cents pizzas back in NYC but undercooked. It’s tasty — as carbs should be and it’s generous on cheese. However, would’ve like it in the oven longer. Overall not a bad choice for the location for a quick pizza bite.

After my first visit, I thought yeah, its a little cramped, not as clean as I would like, but I think this just might be my new pizza joint. I went back the next day and this time it was a woman behind the counter. She took my order while on a personal call, she was loud and somewhat abrasive, never addressed me at all. When my slices were ready, she just put them in the pizza box, slid it to me and walked into the back room, still on the phone. I just thought she was unprofessional. Would I give them my business again? Nope. I rather go across the street to Bronx pizza. I will pay the extra dollar or 2. Its clean and the staff are friendly and approachable.

This is a great spot for late night in Arlington. Once or twice, the cashier called me by my name and I thought that she knew me or remembered me. I was so shocked until a more sober friend suggested that she just read the name off of my card. Either way, it was sweet of her to call me by name. The staff is polite, especially considering what they must see all night on the weekends. This is definitely the best late night pizza option in Clarendon and certainly better than the NY pizza place across the street.

You can’t come to Goody’s looking for amazing pizza and you can’t come to Goody’s looking for a legitimate place to eat your average pizza. However if you’re looking for a late night slice in Clarendon after drinks elsewhere there’s no better spot.(In fact there’s literally no where else for a late night slice to go on the way home.)

awesome. I work as a crane operator so climbing down for lunch isn’t an option. I called this place knowing it might be a little early for delivery, and it was. 15 minutes later I get a call back from a sweet lady saying they were ready. They delivered my pizza in no time. It was hot, fresh and delicious. It’s really good and really big. I love the crust. Glad I’ll be working in this area for a while. Can’t wait to try the steak and cheese.

My favorite late night grub house in Arlington! I’ve never had a bad food experience here because it’s simple pizza. The staff here are always fun and having a good time with all people that come in, which keeps the night vibes going for us as we end the night. I got a steak and cheese from here recently and it was really one of the best ones I’ve had in the DC area. I’ll likely be back in the future for another steak and cheese — it was delicious!

i had an appointment this afternoon and was looking for a quick bite to eat. Goody’s sell by the slice so i decided to grab grub from here. When you walk in, it’s pretty bare — there’s an ice cream cooler on one side and 2 stands of pie in the other window, one cheese, one pepperoni. Other than this there are 2 tables on the side and a drink cooler at the back. I got the vibe that this was a close knit family or friends who owned the joint because they were at the other table chatting away talking to who i assumed was Grandma. :) Nothing fancy, the slice was offered up on a paper plate and started looking around for the fork and knife. I was schooled on how to eat NY Style pizza right then and there — «…you wont need a fork and knife, just fold it.» and she was right! I had opted for the pepperoni and it was perfect for my taste. Thin and crispy on the bottom, and just the right amount of cheese and sauce on top! If i lived nearby, I’d def be a regular at this pizza place!

I’ve been very torn about what to rate this pizza place. The first time I went, I thought I had found my new go-to pizza place. When it’s done right, it’s GOOD. However, the food is a bit inconsistent at times and service is a little iffy. I’ve gone for the lunch special several times since I work nearby, ordered a whole pizza to take home for dinner and I have also come here after drinking. The food is somewhat consistent for the lunch special(which is two slices of cheese and a drink for $ 6), but it has fluctuated otherwise. They have fully cooked pizzas out on the counter, and they warm up individual slices once you order them so that you receive them nice and hot. However, there have been a few times that they haven’t warmed up the pizza slices so that I get a room temperature slice with the congealed cheese(instead of hot cheese that stretches away when you bite it). Also, the drink case isn’t consistently stocked. Its pretty 50⁄50 during the lunch hour on if they have what I want. In terms of service, most of the time it has been very average — not good, but not bad. However, the last time I went with some coworkers, we ordered the pizza to eat in, but were given pizza boxes instead of plates. No problem — we sat down and started eating. Then, an older lady came out from the back and saw that we had boxes instead of plates, and started yelling at us! She said«why do you have pizza boxes?! if you have a box, you have to eat outside, you can’t eat it here!» OK… first, we ordered to eat in, and we were handed boxes — not our fault. Second of all, even if we had ordered«to-go» and gotten boxes, but decided to eat in, the restaurant was empty — we weren’t taking a table away from another customer who was waiting for a table. I understand that boxes probably cost more than the paper plates they would serve for eat-in customers, but scolding customers is not a good business practice. Overall, my rating is closer to a 2.5 for the inconsistent food quality and the bad customer service the last time I visited, but I was feeling generous and rounded up. Would I return… maybe if I’m desperate, but I’m not sure. The food is ok enough, but out of principle I don’t know if I want to patronize an establishment who yells at customers over a pizza box.

Out the other night and wanted some food before heading home. I went in here and the staff was the best. The Owner’s son chatted with us for a bit and made sure we were out before the next wave of partyers came through for their pizza fix. I went with the CHICKENPARMSUB and it was awesome. Very generous portion of fries too. Everything was still just as delicious heated up the next day as leftovers when I was completely sober. Will be going back to Goody’s and probably drinking in Arlington just to go here again soon. CHICKENPARMYOUTASTESOGOODDDD…

Always a solid choice for some grub after a night out on the town in Clarendon. Cheap, tasty & fast! Only downside is late at night this place gets packed & there isn’t much space to sit & chow down.

I give it 4 stars. I’ve eaten here probably 3 dozen times over the last 5yrs. Pizza is good, i like it better than the so-called NY Pizza across the street. But lately i usually default to the Italian Hoagie they offer. This sandwich is huge and comes with a massive order of fries, which are seasoned nicely and very crisp. I like everything about it… coldcuts, lettuce, pickle and the bread is really good hoagie bread. My only disagreement is the cheese. They use a shredded Mozz which they load on top. I would rather have sliced cheese, then it would be an almost perfect Italian Hoagie. Great and fast service.

Can’t beat Goody’s for some good late night pizza! Huge slices at the ready, and the owner and staff are very friendly.

I am such a fan of this little corner pizza shop located right in the heart of Clarendon! Pizza is the perfect comfort food(or drunk food!) and this place doesn’t disappoint. The slices are huge and cheesy, with a thin crust. They also have excellent baklava! The owners are so nice, and put up with all the Clarendon drunkies every weekend, but somehow do it with a friendly attitude. Love this mom&pop shop. Beware the line though — if you come during peak after-bar hours on a weekend, there might be a line out the door!

I can’t even begin to estimate how many times I’ve been here since 2006. It used to always be my go-to drunk food after Whitlows and Rira back in the day. It used to have a long line out the door every Thurs-Sat night(they stay open until 3am those nights). After having gone many times, I got to know the owner Vanessa and her son Mikey. Just fantastic people. They treat me like family when I’m in there. It’s amazing drunk food, and I think I went sober once before and also really liked the pizza. Back in 2008 – 2011 this place would be POPPIN around 2am. It might still be like that, I’m just rarely in Clarendon at 2am anymore. Sometimes there are a bunch of girls there too. I’ve actually gotten a few numbers from there back in my single days, easier than a noisy bar. They have ice cream, baklava, and espresso as well. What a great spot. :-D

Came here on a Saturday night around 11 and it had a line out the door of people. I had it totally sober and I can say it was really good NY pizza. You could only get pepperoni or cheese by the slice and I had both. I’m normally super unimpressed by plain cheese pizza and I normally am in different to the crust, but this crust was so good I ate all of everything! My boyfriend, who had just said all pizza is the same 15 minutes before(which is obviously blasphemous, but whatever) also loved the crust here and said I should give it 5 stars on Unilocal for sure. Line was long-ish but it moved fast and was worth the short wait.

As a New Yorker, I’m very particular about my pizza. This is the best place I have found in the Courthouse/Clarendon area, probably even in all of Arlington. The pizza is always cooked exactly how I like it, with the perfect combination of cheese and sauce. The slices are also big and fairly inexpensive. They also sell ice cream and a bunch of other food, but I always just get the pizza. The place is pretty small, with just a few tables inside and outside. Don’t even try going across the street to Bronx Pizza, it doesn’t even slightly compare to the real thing.
