Sutro Hair Salon

I went to get haircut and colour and not happy with the overall result and i feel really bad paying that much money for the kind of service. i mean the colour and cut is ok but for the price you pay its not really that good. my hair looked like i went to 15 dol haircut salon. i rated it very poorly because i have high expectation for the cost of their services. huge thumbs down! definitely not coming back! overpriced for the kind of service you get. i expected more for the amount they charge. and aside from that, their customer service is very poor. do not recommend this place. not worth the money and your time.

Terrible service and a total ripoff. $ 70 + tax for a mediocre blow dry. Avoid by all means.

I’ve never been a fancy salon kind of guy, but I have to say that my experience at Sutro has me a changed man. Firstly, the place is modern, clean, and feels super swanky (they even have robes to change into so you don’t get hair everywhere!) It’s a very personalized treatment and the staff are always confident, outgoing, and friendly. You don’t feel like they’re trying to give you a quick cut and send you on your way. My stylist always is thorough and has good advice and suggestions, which is super helpful. You get the impression that they really know what they’re doing and set the bar really high. And even guys get the whole spa-​like treatment: head and neck massage, essential oils, hot towels etc (I don’t have much spa experience but I have to say: it’s awesome). Since I started going there about 6 months ago I have never gone anywhere else, and have no plans to change. It’s affordable, it’s a relaxing experience, and I always leave with a great haircut. Can’t recommend Sutro enough!

I always get my bang trims here and am pretty happy with the job they do. I had the best hair cut ever there but the stylest went back to Australia. Everyone is very nice and I have never had to wait very long.

I went to my first appointment at sutro hair salon today. Long story short, I had a terrible cut just 2 days before at a new place I was trying out and needed emergency hair repair. I knew my previous stylist Tom Lee had switched over to working for Sutro (used to be at Ego), so I begged him to take me in for an appointment. He was extremely understanding and scheduled me in the next day. I loved going to him at Ego, but I was a little nervous about seeing him at a different salon. Would his style be the same? Would there be massages? (Hey this is an important question!) Will he be able to fix my hair? I had a lot of questions but very little time for doubt.
I found the place really easily and really liked the space and décor when I stepped in. They serve pita chips with humus and tea/​coffee. I didn’t get an experience lounge treatment, but just the fact that they have that service made me feel like the owner really thought about what cutomers want out of a hair salon nowadays.
I explained to Tom what I didn’t like about the haircut and described to him what I wanted. He checked out my hair and gave me his recoomendations on what can be done to undo the damage. He carefully textured my hair and brought back a nice ‘flow’ to it. And while he did end up having to cut my hair shorter, he kept the style exactly the way I want it to be like once it grows out. What I like about Tom is that on top of being a very meticulous stylist (he textures my hair by hand every time. No shortcuts. No texturizing shears), he’s also very knowledgable about hair and very honest about what works and doesn’t work.
Great experience here at Sutro! I’m very glad I don’t have to look around for another stylist who gets my hair! And in case you’re wondering, yes they do massage before haircut!

I’m a guys guy, NFL on Sundays and gym very other day. I work in sales, so having a fresh cut is part of the game. The most comforting fact about Jeanine’s approach is she helps you figure out a style that will lend to your personality, and most importantly the intricacies of your hair line and the way it grows back. Not to mention a killer Salon with a skilled team beside her. She’s been my stylist for 2 years now and I recommend all my boys, that still have hair. Review by Lukas — Sales Professional

This is not just an average hair salon. Everyone there is genuine. My experience was a real focus. They really seem to care about everyone having an extraordinary experience. I LOVE the snack and refreshment idea, I LOVE the other hair/​skin/​nail treatments you can choose to have before your appointment (complimentary on your first appt, I believe) Where else can you have that? Every time I go there I don’t want to leave.

The hair product line is really nice too… Davines. I won some samples, and honestly, they are the best I’ve ever tried (for my hair).
