Great little take out Chinese in Lower Lonsdale. I ordered my favourite Singapore fried noodles, veg with no egg. This usually means I get a ton of noodles and a few veggies but this was loaded up with veg! Spice was on point and hit the spot. It’s not fancy, it doesn’t try to be, it’s just quick, easy and tasty! This will be my go to place for noodles!

My go-to greasy Chinese food fix on the north shore. No, the quality isn’t great and yes, the food deteriorates overnight. But there’s something comforting about walking into the place to pick up your food and go. Or should I say, walk into the place and expect your food to be ready but have to wait another 20 minutes because the lady on the phone miscalculated your order time. I usually get the deep fried chicken wings with spicy salt and chicken chow mein if I know there will be leftovers for lunch. If we’re having it all the same night, I will get the beef with rice noodles.

Keep in mind this is not(nor is it intended to be) a 5-star, eat-in restaurant… In terms of bang for the buck, food quality and freshness, value, and consistency — for the take-out niche that they target — I give these guys top marks for hitting that mark. Have ordered countless times now and have been pleased.

I always walked past this place and thought it looked dirty and grungy but I had a friend tell me they tried it so I thought I’d give it a shot. The portions are huge and since its take out only it saves a bit of $$ as well. Recommend if you’re craving a lot of good Chinese take out. I would say best in North Vancouver for that

I wish I could give this place a better review but the food and service during my last experience just can’t allow me. I ordered and 30 mins later got a call that they can’t deliver because I didn’t have cash. It was 11pm at this point. After some difficulty with communication they agreed to deliver but I had to go to the bank. So from order to delivery service was an hour. The green beans were okay — had some crunch left but they were way too over seasoned. The deep fried spicy tofu was soggy and again too much seasoning specifically salt. They charged $ 2.50 for a side order of sweet and sour sauce but if it’s over $ 25 they throw in some spring rolls. I’ve had their fried rice before and it was good and my friend loves their ginger beef(but ask for without onions) and apparently their chicken balls are good. Want some greasy Chinese then this place is probably for you.

I so regret getting food from here. I was gonna order from Red Szchezuan but I decided to try this one out instead. The hot & sour soup was.well. not very good at all. What really threw me off was the pieces of meat(not even sure what meat it was.) and shrimp. I usually love hot & sour soup but this totally ruined it for me. Veg chow mein was meh. Nothing special. Sweet & sour chicken balls. They came with a gooey bland sweet & sour sauce. I ate 3 and threw the rest out. My fault for ordering this dish though, I should’ve gotten something like beef and broccoli. I gotta say I’ve had better Chinese food in a food court.

Very solid 3.5 stars for fast, good-value Chinese food made for the Western market, plain and simple. But do stress their menus have Chinese translations, so that’s a relief lol. Wouldn’t say it’s Hon’s quality, but close to it. Like the fact they accept credit cards. You may not want to do pickup here, as one, it’s hard to find, and two, you may have second-thoughts when you see their alley entrance lol. But it’s clean inside, with a few waiting chairs. Again, they stress no dine-in’s at all. Their lemon chicken, beef brocolli, and wonton soup is their signature, and it’s been passable over the years at friends’ parties. Just wouldn’t be my 1st choice here in North Van; I’d go with Jade Garden or Red Chili, both on Lonsdale. Both better for action too ;)

Strictly take out and delivery. This place gets the job done. Large portions the price is right and the food is good. Go there.

I rounded up from a 2.5 stars, it’s OK in a desperate kind of way. We ordered hot & sour soup, deep fried tofu, chinese mushroom with broccoli and shrimp & bbq pork fried rice for delivery. Since the order was over $ 35.00 we also got a wonton soup for free. A tonne of food if you just want something somewhat palatable and cheap. The fried rice was so rushed that there were still some clumps of rice here and there. Don’t worry about msg/soy sauce, food is pretty bland. Just to be safe, order deep fried dishes and nothing that would come with sauce which is mostly cornstarch gloop. Quoted 45 minutes for delivery time, but arrived in 30 minutes, however we are not very far from the them.

Every neighborhood needs a good inexpensive Chinese takeout. Having just moved to Lonsdale I needed to find one. As a Chinese-Canadian, I’ve had my share of bad Chinese take out and I have to say that this place isn’t one of them. The food is good, the portions are huge, and the prices are great. The $ 11 Fireman special is a great deal, it gives you enough food for 2 people. Or one really hungry one.

The orange door is for when you are starving and don’t want to spend a lot of money. For the price, you get tons of food. For a dinner for 1 it lasts me 2 days. But no care goes into the food. They just push It out as fast as they can and don’t care about quality. So ya, when your running low on cash and want a big bang for your buck, call up the orange door for some sub par Chinese food.

I have been noticing that once people discover this place, they make it their go-to restaurant for Chinese food take-out(if they live in the area). My family always orders from here and the delivery time is decent considering we order quite a few dishes. We usually stick to some variation of beef and broccoli, szechuan green beans, lemon chicken, sweet & sour pork, egg foo young, chicken fried rice, and chow mein. All of it is tasty! The won-ton soup is a must. The portions you get are good for the price and we like how they are packed in reusable plastic containers… we use them all the time for storing food. I recommend this place!

unfortunately we didn’t even get to try the food — After ordering for delivery and waiting for an hour, I called back to be told that my order was«sitting here waiting for the delivery guy to come back» so I cancelled my order because I’m sure it would have been cold by the time the delivery guy came back.

Their website was good and made it easy to order. When i went to pick up, i was excited and thought it was pretty cool that they were dedicated to delivery and pickup only. Shortly after, i sat down for some of the worst Chinese i have ever had. Im not that picky about simple chinese food and i’ve tried 3 other places off of Lonsdale that were far better.

I’ve loved this place for years. Never had a bad experience. Authentic just like Chinatown in the 70’s. Dinner for 3 yummy and fast delivery with bonus wonton soup, or discount with pickup. No seating at site.
