Not the most amazing quality of food but for the price you pay, it’s pretty reasonable. The menu covers both north and south Indian cuisine which is neat and they also serve street-food or chaat which is always a nice treat as a starter. I don’t recommend the mango lassi which tasted nothing like mango but a whole pile of sweeteners and flavours. The ‘Thalis’ are a good option which gives you a range of things to try and are very reasonably priced. I wouldn’t travel to come to this joint but if you’re around the neighbourhood and feel like Indian food it’s not a bad option!

This unassuming little Indian restaurant is full of surprises. It looks a bit shabby, and has an oddly positioned wash-basin right in the middle of the restaurant(which serves as a reminder to everyone to wash their hands … but all the same, it’s odd). One doesn’t expect much from this cheap and cheerful establishment, but I’ve gotta say, the food is a cut above your average Indian take-away. The curries are distinctive, fresh, and not too oily, and they have great Thalis, with very generous servings and a lot of variety. When I was last here it was with a big group. We called first to book a table, and although that call didn’t really work(something got lost in translation), there was no record of our booking, but plenty of space for 12 of us, nonetheless. There is no licence, but BYO appears to be free. Here’s the sweet bit: we asked for some glasses for our wine … and they took aaaaaages to bring them to us. It turns out, one of the guys at Little Haveli raced up to Broadway Shopping Centre and bought two boxes of wine glasses, washed them, then put them on our table. We would have been happy with tumblers, but that’s just how it happened. If you’re looking for a cheap dinner with a big group of people, and it’s a last-minute, too-late-to-book sort of thing, Little Haveli can be just the ticket.

Situated right below the uni-housing of University of Technology is the little Indian restaurant. It is the closest Indian place to the university and is also on the main road which makes it a frequently visited restaurant. Indian food is not only craved for by Indians, anyone fond of spicy curries n breads yearns for this cuisine. It has all the regular dishes that are on the menus of a conventional Indian place. The food is no doubt very good and is freshly cooked. They even provide a student discount and are open even during the evening hours between lunch and dinner until 10pm(confirm). It’s a place which is very popular with local Indian students who can’t be bothered to cook Indian food but can’t survive without the authentic flavours. They even have a free delivery for the surrounding areas for order above 25 $.
