Love the warehouse feel of this gym and the fact the patrons aren’t all on top of each other — there’s so much room! This gym really has it all, from a café, a daycare facility & sports medicine clinic, I’ve never been to a gym in the 15 years I’ve been working out, that has this much on offer. The facilities are always clean — with a huge locker room, steam room & showers. The staff are super friendly also. If you’re looking for a fab PT here, you can’t go past Rosie Mackay — I always go back to her when I need that extra push in my training. I absolutely feel at home here and even though it’s not the closest gym to my house, I make the trip.

I absolutely hate the gym. I’d much rather be outside brisk walking or hiking than being enclosed in a gym like some hamster running the wheel. However, the freak weather we’ve been experiencing in Melbourne of late(some say this is normal) has forced me to join the bandwagon and become a gym rat. The Fitness First in Richmond is where I’m signed up with but I opted for a passport membership so I can use any other Fitness First in Melbourne and around the world too. I love the fact that the passport system allows you to go to other gyms other than the one you signed up at because my job keeps me mobile and having options is great. I love the Body Balance and Pilates classes at the gym. In fact this is why I signed up and I’ve not been disappointed yet. I go for an hour class at a time and leave aching(meaning I’ve worked hard) and looking forward to the next(torture) session. The Body Balance instructors in particular at Richmond are really great. They teach a class full of people but you feel like you’re being given attention and they demonstrate really well. Classes are easy to follow, even if you’re a first timer and you don’t feel ridiculous at all because lots of people are newbies too.
