For some reason everything we ordered was better than the last. Fresh Sashimi and Sushi melts in your mouth. The wagyu steak is to die for. When we feel like Japanese we can’t go anywhere else now, it’s amazing. I love the service, quick friendly without being false, and no bullshit talk.

As the only Japanese restaurant on Majors Bay Rd, I thought it was about time I checked out Kokoro. Located opposite Coles, the restaurant is small, but has a warm, cosy atmosphere.
Service seems a little distracted at times and it might be quicker to go to the counter to pay, rather than waiting for the bill.
The sushi/​sashimi is reasonably priced compared to other Japanese restaurants. You will find all the standard dishes on the menu, such as Teriyaki chicken (a little too chewy for my taste), various sushi rolls, sashimi and steamed buns.
While everything was satisfactory, some of the seafood didn’t taste as fresh as I’d like, and for that reason I probably wont be returning in a hurry.
If you fancy checking it out for yourself, try the eel. It’s delicious!
