Well look here, it’s another brand new café on the Broadway drag! This part of town used to be such a dead zone, so it’s great so see more shops opening up along here. Benitos is mostly a pop-in, pop-out sort of café, although right now there are 3 big tables(not much in the way of individual tables). Counter service only, and they do remember to clear the tables. The best part about it — LOTSOFNEWSPAPERS. Including the Herald. Much appreciated by the punters. The look is industrial, a bit chic, but maybe a little under-done. They serve Campos coffee, and the result is very strong(but not as creamy or subtle as it could be). Notre Dame uni students get a discount, other students do not. They have sandwiches, paninis and other standard lunch fare, in a glass cabinet. Right now they only have one big table outside, even though there is heaps of space outside, and if they were allowed to use it for a bunch of tables, it would make for a great sitting spot(it’s sufficiently set-back from the road so it’s not too nasty). I reckon this place will improve with time.
