Our buns may not have been piping hot but they were warm enough and highly enjoyable. Dumplings were very good and fresh. Our only complaint was that they didn’t serve tea and it was a cold winter’s day. Nothing gourmet about it but with buns at $ 1.50 each and dumplings at $ 8/dozen I’d not hesitate to eat here again.

This place is a small hole in the wall bun shop, where the food is handmade. I ordered 4 different buns — veg only, pork & cabbage, lamb & cumin and hot spicy beef. I was a bit surprised to find that the buns were cold, as I was under the impression that they were stored in a warmer. From memory, the actual bun consistency a lot like what you’d find in Beijing. Not too fluffy, a bit more dense. There was a lot more filling than what you get in China, and I wasn’t too big a fan of the lamb/beef varietals. Would probably go back if I wanted a quick and cheap meal. I’d get it to go though, as I prefer the buns to be piping hot.
