Dishes are in large quantity and really cheap… Tastes are pretty ok. Can’t ask for more. Definitely a place to recommend for hungry eaters.

It sucks, ok? Not only for Chinese, but for all. All the food taste similar, in a bad way. Not a place to have u meal.

Well. My order fried noodle turn out to be rice. However, this is not the point. I think they have overcook the rice by add too much water. And my ‘steam dumpling’ taste as if it has been bleached, the sweatiness of dumpling skin was lose. And not dipping sauce? The positive point is, the filling taste not MSG at all, and yes, the free soup are better than any other stuff I have taste in this place. I know this place is cheap, but at least get the rice/water ratio correct.

I don’t really get the rave reviews this place gets, but after my most recent visit(3rd time) I’m at least convinced it’s an alright restaurant. It certainly doesn’t look like much, so maybe it’s just low expectations making people love it, but I’ve found the food a bit hit and miss. I’d say about half the stuff I’ve had was good, the rest pretty average. Some friends of mine love it, so have been back about 3 times and actually quite enjoyed it the last time. So it’s definitely worth your while checking out the recommendations from other reviews or from your friends(that seems to be how most people end up there, dragged along to the dodgy looking restaurant by an insistent friend). Beware, not everything on the menu is as good as the BBQ pork.

I have walked past this place hundreds of times and never been inside. But it was recently recommended by a friend I had to check it out. The food is like old Singaporean Chinese style and really great value. This is now my new favourite Chinese

First impressions count. Whilst its appearance being plain, grey and a bit old doesnt provide the best impression, its a place worth giving a second chance. The food is simply amazing. I have taken my friends and family here and everyone is always amazed at how great the food is. The place even serves complimentary soup, tea and oranges. It is authentic chinese in enormous quantity and low price. The service is also very friendly! Stepping into this restaurant will be one of the best decisions in your life. Make sure you try the salt and pepper squid, sandong chicken and combination fried rice noodle!

What is it with good Chinese restaurants being inconspicuous? I don’t know, but this is another. Located on city road, near the intersection with Parramatta rd and next door to the Lansdowne, Golden Fang, which has no clear signage and a flashing led sign saying open, can easily make you mistake this place for a dodgy restaurant, but its not! The crispy, salt and pepper squid is a sure winner, the fried combination noodles a hit and the fact that chinese restaurants still serve complimentary orange pieces at the end of your meal and free chinese tea make me want to eat here all the time.
