Le Rendez-Vous

Best spaghetti bolognese of my life. Rich, loaded with flavor. Just absolutely decadent. The other items I’ve had here, like the pizza and the paninis (tuna fish, if I recall), were not as impressive. But for a best-​of-​lifetime dish, Le Rendez-​Vous deserves four stars.

This place is super cute, and, as the other reviewer mentions, super cheap! I haven’t been here since 2006 (when I was studying abroad) but I was at Le Rendez-​Vous a few times during that period, and it did not disappoint.

This place is pretty darn good! I went here with my friend the other day (Friday March 20^th) to catch a lazy lunch on a beautiful day. We came here because this place is SOOOO cheap. I mean like ridiculous… for take away it about £2.75 for a huge panini (though their panini’s are actually on baguettes).
No matter what combination I make up… I once just had cheese & onion… and yesterday I had Tikka chicken with onion cheese and pesto (which was surprisingly AMAZING) … the sandwich always seems to come out well.
The sit-​in menu is a little more pricey but I wouldn’t really want to sit-​in this place because it is kind of small and crowded and the limited seating they do have is on a lower level. My advice is to get take away and find a nice bench or take it back to your flat or hotel.
Though I am not a pizza person I heard from the friend at lunch that they also do great pizzas that are also pretty cheap.
Sometimes I forget about this little shop, but I never seem to be disappointed when I come her. Cheap and drool worthy? That deserves five stars!

This place is legendary within St Andrews. As providers and some of the best value, freshest, and friendliest food available, it is delivered and made in front of you to allow (as most do) for the healthy (if you like) alternative to a take out. The food choices range extensively — from their popular menu of paninis to pizzas, and the more elaborate wraps and pasta dishes. All of the ingredients for the pizzas and pastas are infront of you, so you can tailor the outcome to exactly what you would like.
You may also sit in to eat, at the back of the shop, where a couple of tables are laid. The atmosphere certainly takes inspiration from the name, and is very French and cosy. The staff are brilliant, making you smile that extra bit more and the food is delicious. A definite recommendation for any time of the day. Open until 11pm.
