I enjoyed a nice afternoon snack at this Costa and found the location to be good and the staff to be friendly. If you are in St. Andrews, this Costa is right down Market Street in the central part of the city. The location looks busy at some points –it is a college town after all –but there is a lot of seating at this location as well, which is nice. Also, I was able to charge my phone once again, making my day trip to St. Andrews pleasant. In terms of service and coffee, I found this Costa to be on par(pun intended) with others that I have frequented. I preferred this coffee shop to the Starbucks in the same area –by far.

This is my favorite coffee shop in St. A’s. The flat white is always so perfect. I used to love the almond croissants, but they changed the recipe and they are not worth the money now(2014). I hope they fix this. The servers are the best. Very friendly, competent, and fast. I once tripped while carrying a tray for two and a drink ended up on the floor and made a huge mess. Someone came right over, cleaned it all up before I could get too embarrassed and made a new mango smoothie for us before I even had to ask. They have free newspapers on a rack which makes a nice change from iDevices and you can read your book all morning with no interruptions. If they change croissant suppliers for the better, I’ll bump this review up a star.

Oh to find delightful food while traveling makes Jackie a happy girl. You know it’s gonna be a good cup of coffee if people take the time to make little creations in your cup. The white mocha was delicious and the buttery, chocolaty, carmel-y dessert(whatever it was called) added to my food glutton experience of St. Andrews and probably added an inch to my hips. Thank you, Scotland :)

This Costa was revamped a couple of years ago and has greatly improved since then. It has a good atmosphere and friendly staffed. The queue is often quite long, however, and the toilets leave something to be desired.

Costa’s espresso beats Starbucks hands down and inches just ahead of Nero’s. Their large mocha with an additional 2 shots of espresso(I’m a junkie, I know) got this Californian through many grey days. Crowd is good and prices are decent and the staff are super friendly.

The UK’s answer to Starbucks… BUT better! I still prefer a non-chain coffee shop but if I have to choose between Starbucks and Costa its always COSTA baby! The Hot Chocolate here is sooo much better then Starbuck’s hot chocolate and CHEAPER too! I really like this Costa Shop because its a great place to come and study for examens(if you go to the University of St. Andrews…) and they have Sandwiches too! Just 2 days ago I came here and got an Americano and a Latte for 3 quid… I know that if I had gone to Starbucks I would be paying twice as much!

A great branch of this popular chain, this is one of the few cafes in St Andrews with enough seating to always guarantee a table, any time of the day. It has excellent opening hours being one of the first cafes to open in the morning and is often open until late. The only downside to this place is that service seems quite slow so not the place to pop into for a quick coffee to go.

The location being outstanding, right on Market Street and at one of the main North-South footpaths through town, this rather large coffee shops has a comfortable interior, good value coffee and fair trade options. Very pleasant to sit down and read a book, or go to with the whole family for a bit of a break from the bustle that St Andrews can be. Take-out coffee is also very popular with students. In my opinion the better alternative to the Starbucks located a few doors further down.
