Revolution

Myself and my colleagues have been regulars at Rift & Co (previously Revolution) for about 3 years. It’s had gone through a lot of changes and the décor is now cool and modern plus the service is excellent. However the once outstanding food has gone seriously down hill. The portion sizes have dramatically reduced as has the quality. Once serving juicey nocarella olives. They are now tasteless jarred ones, the generous king prawn flatbread is now smaller with fewer and cold prawns and served on a tortilla wrap rather than a large warm and fresh garlic flatbread.
There are many details such as these throughout the menu that has completely put us off. Also Rift needs to decide if it’s attracting the after work meal crowd or loud drinking crowd. It currently seems very confused by trying to do both and pleasing very few.
The privilege card system has now been revoked which provided drinks deals and 25% off food. This kept us coming back (when the food was better) plus recommending Rift to other friends and colleagues.
The fantastic and attentive staff meant this review wasn’t a 2 star. They asked our group to review Rift so hope this helps make some changes!

I think the Revolution bars are very good and always like to go on a night out-​the Preston Revolution is good and although it gets very busy is a great place to get cocktails, vodka shots and have a good time.
It’s quite expensive but there are offers especially if you’re drinking in a group.
The upstairs bar is open sometimes but usually for private functions-​went there for my sisters 21^st birthday and it was a really good atmosphere for a group of about 25 people-​candlelit tables, champagne and decent music.
There aren’t many bars like this in Preston whereas places like Manchester do have alternatives so it does get busy a lot of the time.

I like it in there, it can get very busy at the weekends. It is great for cocktails, they can be a bit overpriced but I like it in there as there can be a very good atmosphere!

Revolution is a great bar in Preston. You are able to test out more than 20 flavours of vodka, one to suit all tastes.
Eating here isn’t too hot though. Food is a little pricey for the quality and they rarely have your first choice of food. The average price of a meal is about £7.
It’s definitely a drinking place rather than an eating place.
