Tiggis used to be one of my favourite restaurants, the service was good and if I shared a pizza the prices were well affordable. However, after my most recent visit with a group of friends last night, I have been left greatly disappointed. Firstly, I can not eat a lot and I asked to buy a pizza for 2. The manager refused to let me share a pizza, and when I asked him why, he was most patronizing when saying he ‘had his staff to pay’. I wouldn’t have minded, but we were in a group of 20 people, and every person was buying an individual meal, which already calculated a handsome profit. I then received my pizza, which was nothing special, and ended up taking half of it home in a pizza box. I am greatly disappointed and from now on will not be dining here again.

I eat here a lot. The staff are very efficient and friendly. I love the food. As a regular there is always a warm welcome and A garlic bread delivered to the table without even asking.

So… I am bias because I worked here 25 years ago… but every family member that has ever gone loves it too. I attribute my toughness to being a teenage American that used to get scolded in Italian nightly for screwing up everything from dessert to coffee. The food is amazing … Authentic Italian with great sauces. Great atmosphere. Definitely go if you are in Preston.

I was at Tiggis last night with a group of friends. It continues its reputation for slow service. It was a good fifty minutes for our food which although ordered together did not arrive together. I had a dish with Mussells and clams which was very good. The only thing that let the meal down was the mussels had not been cleaned properly as they still had grit in some of them. A very basic thing to miss. For a goup, using round tables does not make it a social event. Square tables would be better. Overall a reasonable experience

I’ve always held Tiggis in high regard after dining there many times in the 80’s and imagined it would still be to my liking in the present day as it’s stood the test of time and all that… Wrong! The internal décor was truly magnificent but the food certainly wasn’t to the standard set by it, I ordered stuffed mushrooms as a starter with my Garlic bread but instead was served with what I can only describe as ‘Iceland style crumbed’ deep fried that had an abrasive texture and not for me or my son who had the same, My wife had an omelette that came with ex frozen thick cut fries and my Pescatore pizza was on the lean side as goes topping and flavour. My sons friend did enjoy his seafood pasta which was the highlight of what was a pretty poor showing from this once top marque Italian, After paying the £48 bill we went downstairs through a near pitch black lounge to find the toilets we needed to use before heading off for our sons graduation at the Guild Hall, Again more attention is needed in the form of a reliable janitor in the Gents room. I asked myself if this is just because it’s lunchtime? but why make excuses to try and hide my total disappointment, Thanks for the memories of what once was!

Good value at £17.50 per head on a Tuesday night(group discount applied as normally £20). The venison was particularly tasty. Decent bottle of £14.50 rose as well. Nicely decorated interior and pleasant staff.

Three of us had the lunchtime special2 courses plus coffee for £7.95, which was pretty good value for money. The service was prompt & friendly and everyone enjoyed the food. Only complaint was that there were no veggie options on the menu for the main course, when enquiring about this they said they could make a vegetarian pizza or lasagna for mebut really the option should be on the menu.

Located just off Fishergate Tiggis is exceptional. The service is brilliant and food itself gorgeous. The restaurant is lovely inside with the bar downstairs a really cool touch. In most areas of the restaurant, once seated you can see into the kitchen so you can be sure that your meal is being cooked to the highest standard. The only downside is the prices which are quite steep, they do offer student discount however, and if youre having certain dishes you can share which obviously helps to save money. This would be a great place to take someone for a romantic meal, but if you’re planning on going here for valentines then i would recommend booking in advance.

Pleasant surroudings, well cooked food if the menu a little unimaginative. Overall pretty good.

Tiggi’s is my favourite Italian restaurant in Preston. It has more of a classy atmosphere than most, with the emphasis on great Italian dishes and a fantastic selection of quality wines. I like the fact that even though the place was busy, I was attended to right away. I have been there frequently and it has never been a problem if there’s something special or extra that I want to order. The arrival of the food can sometimes be a bit of a holdup, but may be more kitchen staff is needed. I always find the wait is worth it when that amazing Carbonara arrives at the table. Everything in this place is elegant, from the tablecloths to the serving of the food, and after I left I felt like I had a great meal and a good dining experience. The location is superb as well, great for a meal before going out on the town.
