The other day I went for a walk and decided I was hungry so I walked into this lil joint.(everytime i’ve walked past there are always people inside eatin and working on laptops and reading books and it look super cosy) so i walked on in. The sandwich selection is great — but you know whats even greater? waiting for your sandwich to get made and browsing at allllll the delicious things in the deli part. i ended up buying so much cured meat and cheese and bread and other little bits that i forgot i had originally bought a sandwich — so i came home to a declious sandwich and delicious ingredients and i sat at my dining table eating it all and smiling from ear to ear. i decided to go here for breakfast again this morning and i got the mushrooms on toast and man it was just perfect and the cheese on the bread was so good and im getting hungry again just thinking about it. in fact i just remembered i have salami and cheese left over from the other day so im going to go and make myself another sandwich!!!

I love this place. The deli-market style makes the inside vibrant and delicious. They do great coffee and have so far proved to be flexible food-wise. I took a takeaway box of salad and falafel to the London fields sunshine — best lunch on the go going. Since then I’ve perched on their outside tables people-watching with one of their set sandwiches turned into a salad. You know you’ll be eating fresh and wholesome stuff.

This place is a beautiful find, plopped directly in the middle of one of the capitals best streets, Broadway Market. One for the breakfast and lunch enthusiasts(who isn’t) the spot offers a wide array of the freshest food around. Deli meats, quality cheese, top falafel, instance collection of crackers and more tapas style pots of delights that you’d ever want. To me this place has two modes. Mid-week it’s chilled out, a place to sit outside(or in) chill out and catch a break. Sip some quality coffee and teas, tuck into some healthy food and watch the world go by. BUT this place at the weekend is completely different, it’s the place to be seen and although all the previously mentioned delights still are seen throughout, be prepared to have a little wait on your hands. I mean trying to get a spot for more than 2, between 11 and 2 on a Saturday deserves a medal. This by no means takes anything away for this delightful spot. It caters to anything you need and you’ll certainly find something more than tasty on the menu. I actually also use this place for some fresh market style food to take home. They’ve got a really good selection of cheese, meats, biscuits, chocolate and crackers that will easily take 30 mins of my weekend. They’ve got some like 5 nut crackers that aren’t beaten anywhere else. If you find them not sold out, stock up because chances are I’m on THE way. Outside of food, I’ve also managed to find some really nice gifts in here. Really is an all-rounder. They’ve got some locally sourced beers, ciders and wines and even some little cookbooks that would suit a foodie in your life. Check the gift selections out too, great finds there. Now it’s at this point I must confess, I hate cheese, just don’t get it, yes it’s odd but I’ve been told the blue cheese here is the best in East London /London /The world! Finally there’s a dish on the menu with avocado, smoked salmon, rocket salad, poached egg and rye bread. It’s incredible. I’ve not gone elsewhere on the menu on the last few trips. So in al a great spot, get here and leave nourished and full on fresh food!

This place has been crazy busy for several years now, especially on weekends and during the weekday lunch rush. Yes it’s a bit pricier but the sandwiches are unique and made with high quality ingredients, with a choice of breads and the tiniest dressed salad on the side. The Adam and Eve was really good, with lots of goats cheese and fig relish. Groceries here are upscale and curated, fun to browse. The best part is the service — always friendly, helpful and they really don’t care if you sit for a few hours wit a laptop and work at the big table inside. I would just avoid doing that from 12 – 2 when crowds peak. The tables outside are lovely for lunch in the sun too.

Quite overpriced French style coffee/deli place with very slow service and indifferent staff. They do have a nice selection of jams, meats and cheeses to buy and they sell a variety of sandwiches, some salads, pies and cakes etc. to eat. The food looks ok, I had a salad there once and it was tasty. The coffee is average and the crowd is middle class hipster. Overall not my first choice for anything on broadway market as there are many places with better food/coffee/service.

Absolutely one of a kind. The place to go for a brunch, on sundays to enjoy the lazy crowd hangin out in brodway market. Sandwiches to die for and a cozy environment that keeps you busy when you wait for a hoot white americano.

Small and cosy shop and restaurant. Amazing healthy salads and sandwiches and café«cortado»(Spanish style) which is different from macchiato. Choose the terrace in sunny days.

My favourite restaurant on Broadway Market, I’m there basically every week. The food is delicious and fresh, the coffee one of the best I ever had in London(I am Italian so I expect a lot from coffee!). Really rustic, nice and lively atmosphere, also good selection of French/European imported food and products. Love seating inside with friends!

This place has people lining up outside before it opens on a Sunday morning. I was one of them. Good coffee, nice sandwiches, free wifi, nice deli items… It’s great, if you can get in!

I normally walk straight by this place as it’s usually full to bursting(on Saturdays during the market) or is closed as it’s not open in the evenings. Today, however, I went there for a Monday lunch sandwich. Mmmmmmmmmmm Italian ham, pesto and sun dried tomatoes, toasted to perfection and making me drool even now 3 hours later as I write this. The cakes looked good too and it’s much more spacious than the tiny shop it used to inhabit a few doors up. We ate in but you can save yourself a few pennies by taking away and eating down by the canal or on London Fields. Next time I’m off on a weekday I know where I’ll be eating…

The place was incredibly crowded when I went — and it wasn’t even market day! But I can see why. They have some nice special items and reasonable prices on food. Great soy lattes and rare-to-find items. If I didn’t already have L’epicerie @ 56 on Chatsworth Road(which is really similar and closer to me), I might go to l’eau à la bouche more often. Great little neighbourhood spot!

Free wifi, yummy homemade food and organic produce. What else would you expect from a café on Broadway Market? Oh yes, a window full of people wearing grandpa caps, tan brogue shoes, large knitted scarfs, a baby in a buggie and possibly some facial hair. Don’t be fooled, these people with their Macs aren’t actually doing work, they are there to be seen. Creating an image for the area, of gentrified east London. Inside you’ll find more of this sort, sharing large tables, eating something with lentils in it and reading The Guardian. It’s busy but not rowdy, although if you look at some yummy mummy’s baby in the wrong way it could become that way. You don’t come her for the clientele, you come here for the food. The glorious food that sits in happy bowls at the front near the till or that’s being made fresh in the kitchen just behind. The chalk board at the back is crammed full of specials and it can be a little overwhelming. This place has tried hard to be a food emporium, it has been successful but the evidence of it’s try-hardness is seeping out the door. Still I’m glad I live so close.

L’Eau A La Bouche is a lovely place, great beads, atmosphere, full of creative people. I have to say that I wasn’t impressed with most of the staff. Every time i went there I had an unpleasant event related to the customer service. I think they should improve on that. also they should get a wee bit more creative in terms of letting the customer choose whatever he chooses to have as a mix of food, without getting a very off-putting response.

As other’s have pointed out this place is expensive, and it does seem to attract a certain clientèle, but, hello, that seems to be Broadway Market in general. I have to admit I like the food here a lot. I have one of their sandwiches that’s vegan, and always feel really happy and satisfied after eating(one of those feelings you only get after having eaten a really good meal). The cost is surprisingly reasonable. The coffees are also always good, so perhaps things have improved since the original Unilocalers came through. The deli section is fantastic, but sadly rather overpriced: Nice things for special treats, not for everyday eats. Bottom-line: Have one of their sandwiches, sit in the window, and chill.

Bouche is painfully trendy. It’s expensive. I’m a skin-flint scientist — I’ll happily buy my lunch from Percy Ingle. Yet I also regularly pay a visit to Bouche of a weekend. The coffee’s good, the cake selection is superb. The staff may look pretentious, but I’ve found them to be a surprisingly friendly bunch. It’s a treat, not an everyday café.

Formidable! Perfectly perfect. It is a lovely little shop where you can find quality specialities from the Spanish Torta to some French/Italian cheese and I am not talking about the olive oil, charcuterie, bread, etc. Perfect for a Sunday morning coffee with a few friends. Unfortunately quality rimes with pricey.

Yeah, you know it’s really good. But scenes like this just make me sceptical. Everything’s top notch. The food — exquisite(but really expensive). The décor — excellent, but then they have tried really really hard. I think the name just typifies what’s going on; ‘mouth watering’ but in French y’see, to like, set it apart from the crowd. But the crowd are all horrible. There’s nothing worse than a pretentious deli. And this is a lot like a pretentious deli. So yeah, you’re standardly fine array of interesting cheeses, coffee oh the coffee, and olives, and pastes and pulps and foams. Oh it’s so gastronomical it’s hurting me. And the clientele, they hurt me. What jobs do these people do that enables them so smugly sup their grand lattes at a leisurely 2 in the afternoon. I’m on my bike. What’s going on. So, whilst the product and ‘the experience’ and undoubtedly superb, it’s just what it stands for, what La Bouche represents(massively elitist, culturally superior, society subtly divided by taste and buying power rather than obviously by class and whether or not you wear a bower hat or a flat cap — see you can wear both in here, geddit???) which I find harder to swallow… AVOIDATALLCOSTS

La Bouche is a gorgeous French style deli/café. I think it’s strong points are definately it’s deli selection and food menu. The coffee is not bad, but it really depends who makes it. There was an Australia guy who made a beautiful coffee, but he doesn’t seem to work there anymore. They have the right machine and the right beans to make stunning coffee, it may just be a matter of training the staff. The huge deli selection is lucky it fits into such a petit shop. I think the nicest thing I have had is the duck paté, although a few of the soups come pretty close. Although there seems to be a substantial amount of staff members on the floor, it can get really busy and you may have to wait on the weekends. To avoid the hustle and bustle, avoid going on a Saturday when the Broadway Market is on.

«L’eau a la bouche» literally translates into«mouth-watering», and indeed that is often what happens when I walk into this little deli on Broadway Market. This is a very cute little shop serving an array of good quality continental products such as olives, cheese, charcuterie, quiche, cakes, bread, etc. Even though, there are a couple of seats available indoors and outside, I would not recommend hanging around there since it is a very small shop and yet it always tends to get very busy. It has a standard deli price range, which at £4 a sandwich is typically pricey. It does take a while for them to sort out their orders and make prepare your food, so I would also say that patience is key in this shop.

This little shop is a cross between a café and deli — with proper deli counter and all the foods associated — assorted cheeses, meats, olives and breads –Beside the dominant deli counter is various small metal tables and seats for eating. This place can be packed on the weekends with waitresses bringing«italien» sandwiches and cappuccinos to seated customers — doging between customers buying deli cuts and standing in a que. Not the most relaxing place to have a bite inside — in fact I would recommend, weather permitting to eat outside — at least you can stretch your legs and enjoy serious people watching without a person buying a slice of pastrami and blocking the view!
