Nice food, nice environment, and it’s not too crowded as it’s slightly further down the high street. Recommended!

Super cute and quaint little breakfast café! I came here on a Wednesday morning around 11am and unfortunately for them it was quite quiet(we were the only table in the restaurant until around noon). I like the décor — it was rustic and inviting. I had a cappuccino, which hit the spot as well as the Eggs Florentine which I would definitely recommend. The service was quick and attentive. I found the waitress(perhaps owner?) to be very pleasant and courteous. I saw on the wall that they have some cool happy hour specials. I’d be interested in seeing what it’s like there in the evening time. But I digress. Check them out for breakfast!

I went with a friend for brunch after we looked in the window and thought it looked inviting. We asked for a table for two and was waved to a table in the corner which hadn’t been wiped down properly. After waiting 10 or so minutes for a menu I went to the counter and got them myself. The menu was a mix of British and Mediterranean cuisine. We settled on our choices and waited again for a waiter to take our order. Too Long in fact. The food did come fairly rapidly but I must say I found mine mediocre. The bacon was way over done and burnt for my tastes. The overall presentation left a lot to desired. The other problem I had was over obtrusive music. To my mind background music should be just that– in the back ground not overwhelming conversations. Finally when we were ready to leave we couldn’t get the waiters attention and ended up going to the counter and asking to pay. Not good in place with waiter service. Its shame because I wanted to like this place and if more care was taken with the standard and presentation of food with more attentive staff this place would be GREAT! So until it is I won’t be back and won’t recommend it to anyone I know.

I like the eclectic feel of this place but not breakfast dishes on Sunday morning! the menu has nothing but eggs, which I am allergic to– So in my case I end up eating something from hot(lunch/dinner) dishes for breakfast. sadly not ideal wish there was some kind of variety in food they offer friendly service I have to add.

I was in need of brunch in Camden Town, so Unilocal directed me here. I ordered the eggs royale with smoked salmon, and I also asked for some spinach with it, as well. The eggs arrived quite quickly — they weren’t cold, but there certainly weren’t very hot. I thought the eggs were a little overdone and there wasn’t a whole lot of salmon. They did taste pretty good, though. I thought service was lacking a little bit. They seemed short-staffed, as the two servers were a bit overwhelmed. I was ignored after my food was delivered, and it took forever to get the bill.

This place is merely okay. Decent lively and hip atmosphere. A bit of a wait at 2pm on a Saturday. Food was mediocre. Hollandaise sauce on my Eggs Benedict was… kind of solidified… which was weird…

Just about dying for a great breakfast on my last trip to London, I consulted Unilocal!and was rewarded with Patrick’s referral to Camden Bar & Kitchen. I had the Kitchen’s Deluxe and was not disappointed. Everything was well-cooked, tasty, and nicely portioned. The waitstaff were courteous and kept my coffee cup full. What more could I ask? I highly recommend this low-key gem, especially if you will be heading into the marketplace. Camden Bar & Kitchen will top off your energy stores so that you can shop ’til you drop!

At Camden Bar and Kitchen I enjoyed coffee and a show, the very cute bartender singing along to Amy Winehouse, Coldplay and whatever came on.* You do feel at ease here, it gives the impression of a cozy hangout. When I lived in Camden I was never really convinced by this place, it can be really hit or miss. But I guess I caught it on a good day, by that I mean quiet. I sipped a very strong Americano in silence as the place only had a few patrons. It quickly filled up and I escaped. But tor that brief time I was able to enjoy good music and read my book in peace, you don’t get that in most coffee shops. The menu will satisfy your urge** for pancakes with a nod to the vegetarians by substituting veggie sausage. Hmm. *This review is in NO way influenced by the smiles exchanged on a quiet bank holiday Monday. ** I have many pancake urges, if you’d like to discuss my many other urges you’ll have to buy me coffee first.

Camden Kitchen is almost like a home away from home. In fact I was pretty confident that i had already written a review for it. I was sure that I had already mentioned somehwer along the line how delightful it is when after a hard training session on a Saturday morning, I like to wander down to Ck with a paper and just relax. Clearly i was massively wrong. The décor makes you feel relaxed and at ease. The best spot in the house is right in the window front, so you can look at the people bumbling up and down Camden high street whilst enjoying the food which is excellent. I’ve been to CK enough times now to know what’s hot on the menu. My top picks are as follows: Kitchen Breakfast(8.5 nuggets), the Eggs Benedict/Florentine(6.5 nuggets each) and the Bacon and Avocado Sarnie(7 nuggets I think) — All of which will rock your taste buds. The staff are generally very good, but expect to be a little patient if it’s busy. I think one more member of staff could alleviate waiting times(*Wink Wink* Camden Kitchen). What keeps me coming back is the food though and the music. They always have a great selection of tunes. Sometimes Motown, sometimes classic Bowie, who’s picture they have on the wall, so you can bask in his awesomeness as your destroy your munch. There’s something very relaxing and something very cleansing for the mind about Camden Kitchen. If in Camden on a Saturday I hope you’ll have a glass of Orange Juice with me to celebrate the best decision you ever made in Camden

You know, these other reviewers are totally right. Camden Kitchen has its decorative and atmospheric charms, but the crappy service and surly staff just put me off too much to frequent the place anymore. It wasn’t always this way. I once revelled in a deep love affair of ‘The Kitch’ that saw me slyly popping in almost every weekend. An all-day breakfast starting at just £5 for bircher muesli and spanning ubiquitous eggs benedict and florentine, delicious omelettes with sundried tomato and spinach with chunky fries, right up to the full fry-up at around £9.00 made choosing a difficulty. Oh how we’d linger over a first, and dare I say it, second latte and freshly squeezed orange juice — ignoring the queues of hungry hoardes eyeballing our rustic pine table. Then, about 18 months ago, things changed. ‘The Kitch’ seemed to go off me ever so slightly. Staff were ruder and made me harder to please, the food just tasted not quite so good. Then they stopped calling, until finally I felt like a jilted lover — walking by longingly peering through the windows thinking of times gone by. I blame new ownership, but perhaps I’ll never know the truth. Now I’m stronger and have found others to take their place(Tupelo Honey anyone?) but I still feel like walking in there and shaking their disaffected shoulders, shouting ”CUSTOMERSERVICEMATTERS, PEOPLE!!!”

On the prowl for a new breakfast spot in the neighborhood I submitted a search request to Unilocal.Lo and behold! Camden Bar and Kitchen appears in the results! This was a go to place for me when I first moved to Camden Town, but I’d only been for lunch and dinner before. It hadn’t even occurred to me to try their breakfast. If previous reviews are to be any indication, then I’m in for a treat. I ordered eggs beni and a bloody mary. I think the bartendress could use some instruction on how to make a bloody mary. It was by far the worst bloody mary I’ve had in London so far. It wasn’t bad like some places that just pour some tomato juice cocktail into a glass of ice with some vodka. It was bad like she tried to make it good but just failed. Way too much citrus. Regarding the beni, quality of the ham was mediocre, poached eggs were ever slightly over done, and the english muffin, well what can you say about that? However, the hollandaise on the beni was impeccable. That alone completely saved the breakfast for me. The eggs benedict also came with chips on the side. Not new potatoes, not hash browns, not even home fries. Chips. That just seems wrong for the dish. I want some form of breakfast potatoes please. The decentlly chunky dry chips were crying out for ketchup and I won’t bring ketchup anywhere near an eggs beni, so I just didn’t eat the chips. I was really hoping this would be a four star visit and my new regular haunt for a weekend breakfast. Unfortunately, not the case.

Great little breakfast nook in Camden Town. As the sign out front says, ‘warm fire, warm food, warm people’. They also serve wine, beer, and cocktails, including a pretty good Bloody Mary. Good soundtrack, too.

Nice enough — we had a fry up and the pancake breakfast — both tasted pretty nice and were just under £7 each. The menu wasn’t huge but there was more than enough to choose from. The restaurant itself is quite nice too — relaxed atmosphere and nice enough interior. I’d echo Nay’s comment about the staff not being particularly attentive — we were waiting a while to pay our bill at the end.

After reading Patricks review of this new establishment, the goodness had to be sampled. My lovely lady and I went for a late morning breakfast. We both ordered The Kitchens deluxe breakfast, with Sarah asking for a couple of changes. They adapted to her requests without a misstep. The food was good and well proportioned. The typically, greasy spoon breakfast was somehow classier here. The entire menu is impressive if not extensive. The retro decoration and mismatched furniture add to the ambience, and whilst Grace Jones and Elvis look down on you approvingly from the walls, you cannot help but feel privileged. Camden Bar & Kitchen is not the cheapest joint on the strip, but there is something endearing about the place that will keep me coming back for more.

Thanks to Patrick R.‘s ROTD, I am writing this review on a full stomach. Camden Bar and Kitchen lived up to its 1st review and provided me with a lovely Deluxe English Breakfast. My plate consisted of a large Dutch Mushroom, fried tomatoes, 2 eggs, toasted bakery bread, sausage and lean grilled bacon. I passed on the baked beans but they are also included. The service was friendly and quick, we were provided with fresh newspapers to go with the coffee and the décor was very attractive. Mismatched chairs, dark wood table, funky wallpaper and loads of cushions made this locale very welcoming for an early morning meal. The only unfortunate thing about this great place is that it doesn’t have wi-fi and won’t become my new workspace. There was a perfect window nook and everything.

This little gem in Camden has some of the best breakfast in town. They also serve that breakfast until 4PM, which even the latest sleeper can make. My personal favourite is the Eggs Benedict. The homemade chips are also fantastic. Used to visit The Breakfast Club but have long since abandoned it for the more modestly priced and higher quality Camden Kitchen. Have also had a few items off of the dinner menu, and although more expensive, very good. The service tends to be a bit slow, but the food is worth it. The décor seems to change with the seasons, ranging from paintings to photographs. The music they play is certainly a bonus, as I have heard the likes of Datarock to Tom Waits. A great little place with a bit of character.

For as funky and alternative as Camden Town is supposed to be, there sure are a lot of chain restaurants and cafes on the High Street(including three Prets — just in case the first two don’t have your sandwich). Camden Bar and Kitchen is a bit more in keeping with what you’d expect of the neighbourhood — bohemian chic atmosphere of a café but not outrageously priced. The food isn’t what you’d call world class, but it is very decent, and it’s a nice place to go sit and just have a coffee.

I had quite possibly the worst dining experience of my life in the Camden Kitchen. I had lunch in the Camden Kitchen with some friends during my lunch hour. When we walked in we were seated at a table that was dirty by a waitress who was incredibly unfriendly, she looked like it was a hassle to seat us. By this point we were already a quarter of an hour into my lunch break because it had taken us so long to choose somewhere to eat so there was no option of leaving. We were given the menu’s and were disappointed to find such a limited menu, there really is very little choice with the food and it is very over priced. The food arrived with dirty cutlery after waiting ages for something as simple as a fryup(the most expensive fryup I’ve ever had) and a sandwich and the food was awful. It tasted completely bland. The waitress was rude throughout our meal so we decided not to pay the service charge at which point she started shouting at us in the middle of the restaurant, which was completely humiliating and unprofessional. On top of that the seating was very uncomfortable. I would avoid this one at all costs.

Arrived at Camden Town and couldn’t face the throngs of people heading down to the lock so turned on our heels and went in the opposite direction towards Mornington Crescent and stumbled into this place. Got a table right away at a busy Sunday lunch hour. Staff were efficient if not overly friendly and the food was good, they do breakfast and brunch through till 4pm. Convenient, nice atmosphere and eclectic furniture. Very Camden.

Quite a nice place — half way between a restaurant and a bar. If it’s not too busy you could easily spend a few hours here doing not that much and ordering the occasional drink. Good sized portions and fairly friendly although not very attentive staff.
