Not a great place. Just beer and spirits. Food is terrible, and service is DMV style. There are better places around Camden Town, with better food and friendly staff.

The staff here seems really invested in creating a great customer experience, and more than the fun décor, the good food, or the decent drinks, that’ll keep me coming back here anytime I’m in town

We arrived a bit late, the kitchen were closed but we really wanted a fish and chips! Mark, the manager, saw how desperate we were… and he arranged fish and chips for the 6 of us! :-) It made us very happy and we did like very much the food and the beer. Atmosphere is relaxed, smiley service. When we left, it was quite packed downstairs with good music playing… Like it!

What a brilliant pub! I came here on the Sunday of bank holiday weekend. While lots of other pubs down Camden High Street were closed or closing early because it was a Sunday, the Camden Eye was still going and had a great atmosphere! The pub was busy and had a great atmosphere but not so busy that you couldn’t move or get served at the bar. The service was instant and I got served as soon as I walked in. Everyone who worked there was friendly and welcoming(even the bouncers on the door– which is rare!) The music was great! There was such a variety of songs coming out of the DJ booth– from ACDC to Avicii! Everyone was having a great time and I loved the vibe there! I also checked out the food they have to offer while I was there and I definitely want to return in the day and try their calzones! Possibly my new favourite pub in Camden?

This place is a great spot to grab a few pints in Camden. The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and the manager Mark was extremely friendly and helpful. It’s not often that I’ve walked into a London pub and had any of the staff strike up a conversation. It was open late for a pub and had good music while not crossing the line into«club» territory. I’ll definitely be back here for drinks next time I’m in London.

This pub is down to earth and simply chill. I loved their pint sized London glass! It was surely heavy and fitful to the British pounds’ currency name! It’s a small place, but definitely a central pub in Camden area to check out! Cheers!

This pub was great for a stop rest after looking around Camden all day. It was quite relaxed and not too crowded. We got some Apple and passionfruit cider and chips, which were really really tasty! Not sure what this pub is like at night time but it seems like more of a day time pub, small and a little bit quiet. But it was perfect for lunch as we were able to escape the big crowds.

The service was nice but not very efficient. They were out of just about everything when we went including only having two beers on the selection. We also asked for fish and chips and they said they were out of fish in addition to having only one ale on tap unbelievable! The location is excellent however right next to the Camden town underground station. It was a lovely Sunday afternoon to sit with the windows open and enjoy time with friends and family. So overall I give it three stars.

Only spent a moment here as I came with my sister who’s 19. I just wanted to comment that THISBARIS21+(at least on Friday nights). Looks like an okay place, but I don’t understand the age requirement. Last time I checked, this is Europe and the drinking age is 18.

Comfy chairs abound, feels sterile, expensive drinks but if you want a ‘civilized’ pub in Camden this is one you would consider. Not my cup of tea

This place has gone through such an evolution over the years that I actually feel old talking about it(I’m only 30, come on)! I came to this location for the first time in 2000, when it was known as the Halfway House. I had a forgettable lunch here, and way too many lagers. This pattern continued over my next several visits– I always returned to this place because it was charmingly disheveled and you never really knew what/who you might see! Five years after my first visit, I was thrown an impromptu birthday party here, which included a tiny cake that said ‘Happy Easter!’, a random fortune teller, and some Italian backpackers. In a way I sort of miss the run-down atmosphere that this place used to have. On to the current positives– someone has finally remodeled this oddly-shaped space and made it *work*. It’s unavoidably triangular and can still be a bit cramped, but it benefits greatly from the minimal décor and adaptable furnishings. I haven’t eaten here since my first fateful toasted cheese sandwich lunch at the turn of the millennium, so I can’t comment on the food. As for the rest, there’s a good selection of beer and liquor, with prompt and friendly service. I use this bar as a meeting place almost every time I visit London and it does not disappoint. As this seems to be a strategy shared by many, there’s always a decent chance to meet some interesting people here, and it doesn’t hurt to linger for a good while!

Jumped into the Camden Eye last weekend while on the move with friends, and was happy enough, though nothing particularly stands out from my time inside the establishment. Certainly, it was crowded, but my friends and I were able to grab a tall table, stand around for a while and have a few drinks before moving on to the next place. The location is brilliant though, as previously pointed out. It’s certainly one of the places I can’t imagine having a pub crawl in Camden and not going to, because it sits right at the heart of the area, and from the corner location, you can go any direction, or many(we did!). I feel like there are some insightful comments from past reviewers, particularly that this place could be absolutely top notch if they just condensed and solidified their presence and target customers. If you want tourists, go big for it, if you want locals, let it get a bit more edgy and be okay with what that costs you with the tourist pounds. Nonetheless, it’s a nice enough place. Grab a drink, look around, enjoy the mash of tourists fresh off the Northern Line thinking they’re getting a local experience, and the locals who just want to enjoy the night.

Good location, bad marketing? The pub is fine, it’s got great views of Camden Town’s folks but yeah I see what everyone’s saying about it being a confused spot. Got the Fish & Chips — huge portion, solid… but some of the bones were not completely removed. Wanted to love this place but just liked it. Eh…

Quite a nice place to while away a few hours with a pint or two, especially if you’re sat at one of the many tables by the window where you can watch the world go by and in Camden there’s always something interesting going on!

The seating area a bit tight for dinner on Easter Monday. We walked in on a whim off the tube, and the clientele was friendly to a couple of yankees from New York lie ourselves. The menu was really accessible, anyone who couldnt find something they’d eat off the menu here is not someone I’d like to know. Beer selection ran par for the course for most local london watering holes that I’ve found myself in. At the end of the day though, it’s still just a standby– not a place that most people would rush to, I venture to guess. Close to the Camden Market.

I mean… it’s alrriiiiiiight. Right? Another confused place in Camden. You couldn’t really have a wild night in here with all your mates. You couldn’t really come here to watch the sport unless it’s just a couple of you. You could probably come here for a cheeky beer before going elsewhere — but again, not if there is a lot of you. I guess it doesn’t help that it’s one of the first places you see when you step out the tube. It’s a small pokey place which is perfectly pleasant, just doesn’t do much for me. I wont refuse to come here, in fact I’ve spent a pleasant afternoon sat here until I got bored and went elsewhere… It’s alriiiiiiiiight.

I was in the Camden Eye last Saturday and I really liked this place. As mentioned it’s in a very convenient position right next to the station. The place itself is small but busy with a mix of locals and others. Don’t know exactly how many locals but the table behind us were. It seemed everyone else though were in Camden for a night out and started their night here just as we did. OK down to business. Very good selection of vodka at a reasonable price(well for West End but maybe not Camden) they had Russian Standard in the well and Grey Goose(my fav), Absolut, Zubrowka, and I think he mentioned Belvedere. I am a big vodka drinker so any place with Grey Goose and Russian Standard gets my thumbs up. The bar staff were cool and knowledgeable and helped me out with a couple of the tracks played. The atmosphere here was great with a mix of Rock/Indie and Alternative music which got the punters singing along and some even dancing. Class! I love a good sing-song though I can’t sing to save my life(even though I sounded like Elvis in my drunken head on the night) All in all a good place for a few drinks.

Well is this place really a pub? Not really. To me it’s a miss between a bar, a café, and a… pub. It’s super cute though, with lots of high wooden tables and bar stools to boot. Great food menu of reasonably priced burgers, sandwiches and salads. I think it’s location — smack bang opposite the Camden Tube Station — makes it a place that is filled with tourists, thus it lacks that ‘local’ feel that makes a venue warm and cosy. Plus the staff are odd — good looking, yes — but… strange. Like they’re not totally awake or something.

I happened to be wandering around at Saturday lunchtime looking for places that were: a) nice b) had decent bitter on c) were no more than 1 minute walk from Camden tube d) let dogs in! This place fits the bill on all counts. It’s a bit of a surprise since it used to be a shithole and therefore no one goes here, but it’s actually been done up really well. Lots of wood, spotless, and some good drinking to be had, even with your lurcher in tow
