Really horrible experience. I went for a pint with my friend and ordered a cask pulled London Pale Ale. I got to the table and took a sip and got an intense sour/bitter/rancid flavor. I took another sip and it got worse. I went back to the bar and asked politely if this beer was meant to taste sour and the bartender told me «yeah it doesn’t have bubbles». I said«yes, I understand it’s a cask beer without carbonation, but I think this beer has gone bad or there’s something wrong with the cask». She said«well no one else has complained, so it’s just how it is.» I left my expensive pint on the table. My stomach is still hurting from the soured, rancid beer. Will never return.

Ugh. A bad review, I *hate* doing this, but I wish I read Unilocal before giving these people my money! We could NOT believe how rude the staff was so we didn’t stick around. It was insane! The dreadlocked bartender telling my husband«Yea, I know what a tab is!» We had our drinks(might be the weakest martini I’ve ever had) and left with our £40 lunch budget. We had delightful service and excellent food across the street at the Bang Bang Chicken food stall on the front of Camden Market. Dear owner of this pub, tell your cool employees that they’re not too cool for ££.

A friend and I were walking around Camden on a midweek afternoon and then wanted a casual and cheap lunch. We randomly entered The Bucks Head. We probably should have been warned by the sign saying something like«Best Fish&Chips in Town» but we were feeling light-hearted. There were just 2 or 3 other people in the whole place but still the staff at the bar didn’t care to pay us any attention. I ordered a potato and leek soup and my friend wanted the fish&chips. Big mistake! This may well have been the worst lunch we’ve had in our lives. The fish was as dry as a bone and the chips screamed«Throw us back in the chip pan or straight into the bin, please!». My soup, obviously not homemade, was slimey and thick like tar. It came with dry white bread that I could only swallow with some butter as a lubricant. Need I say more?

If u gonna offer 2 Cocktails for £9’5 please at least try not to make them that bad.(not because its cheaper you have to make people want to throw up.) it has been very disappointed! We decided to get in because of this and because of the roof terrace. Another lie! It wasn’t open at alll. don’t recommend it sorry

Food was decent but service was horrendous. Found the wait and bar staff completely inattentive even when the bar was completely empty!

Went in for the«famous fish and chips» see my photo of the sign that is posted on the sidewalk. Well, the fish is good — actually quite good. HOWEVER…the chips were just plain bad. Not crispy, not hot, basically cardboard! So, we asked for a newly fried batch of chips, which were delivered hot, not crispy, and the texture was still just not good… hot cardboard. I spoke to the very nice manager, and he didn’t seem to think it was a problem. So, it seems this will be the same going forward. They have a chance for greatness with their chips… but don’t count on anyone really giving it a thought. Pass this place by and choose another pub(there are three others within a 2 minute walk.)

Slightly odd pub with pop music(seriously, they were playing ONEDIRECTION and other female teenager hits) lots of adult female groups and weird older men with sideburns and chains. Maybe that was only for Mondays.

My fiancé went to the bar and asked for half a pint. The bar tender proceeded to tip the remains of beer from the drip tray into the glass. I have never witnessed anything like it. Do not go there!

Near the tube, friendly bar staff and(when I visited) not too busy. Also, cute(but very cozy) roof terrace! Nothing special but fine with me!

Do not go to this pub. Here are just a few things we noticed when we were there. All drinks were under poured. Ladies toilets were utterly disgusting, 2 blocked and toilet paper everywhere. Mobiles being used behind the bar. And finally, slops from the end of one barrel of ale being used to up the drink of another, different, pint and the drips trays were being used to fill a pint glass that was then topped up and sold as a fresh pint. I understand times are hard(i run a pub myself) but this lazy style of running a pub hark back to pub dark ages. There are much friendlier pubs in Camden, where the landlord/pubco are not taking the piss out of their own customers.

Another pub in Camden with toilets only 1 step removed from a hole in the ground. Someone told me this is because of all the drug taking in Camdenso thanks Amy and Pete! The reason I was so surprised to find such poor facilities here is from the upstairs I think this pub would like to be quite a modern possibly upmarket bar. Anywaya decent enough pint of London Pride saves this bar from a worse rating.

I have a love/hate relationship with most pubs in Camden, simply because I hate places that try too hard… which, obviously, limits the number of places I enjoy in Camden(sad, considering I live over one of the most well-known pubs here). However, I had a decent evening at the Buck’s Head, enough so to put it ahead of more well-known Camden haunts. Sometimes you just want a good cocktail. to quote Tyra Banks, I want a COCKTAIL but I don’t want £8WORTHOFCOCKTAIL. At the Buck’s head, you can get 2 of the same cocktail for £7.95. Okay, okay, they’re not AMAZING but when you have the craving for a Screaming Orgasm or A Long Slow Screw you’d make do with what you can get… um, yeah. Never mind then, moving on… The service in here was efficient, the crowd was your typical Camden-nites who were gearing up to party. All in all, I’d come back and maybe try their food, as the place looked quite clean and well-maintained.

For being in the middle of Camden High Street this place looks far too nice and hipsterish for Camden if I’m being honest. It quite spacious and the staff are friendly, approachable, game for a laugh and don’t look at me like an alien when I request vegetarian meals to be made vegan. Well, it is Camden afterall. The only thing that has temporarily put me off this place was last week before yet another piercing I was enjoying a lovely meal with a friend when nature called. Heading downstairs to the toilet I had an unexpected run in with a «I’m only here to use the toilet» customer without actually using the toilet bit… Began to feel too much like a budget episode of Bad Girls. Not what I wanted from my Thursday afternoon. However I shall return, probably not in the too distant future for the food is nice and the portions are HUGE.

Geographically this pub is pretty well situated for a large bounty of people, although it looks a bit modern and different from the outside. Wheres the big brown backing and the little sign? It makes you think that this is some sort of hip bar when in fact it is just. a pub. A public house — take your friends here to drink. Don’t come here and expect great things really, with the food being very pricey — abusing the niche in the market for pub food with the shoppers. I don’t like abusers. or pricey food. Go down to The World’s End!

There’s nothing that great or special about the Buck’s Head. If you don’t fancy anything too«rock», alternative or fancy then, having a drink down here, should float your boat. I always end up in this pub for some reason. It’s really, really easy to get to from the tube station and, as I said, is pretty bog standard. They do serve food here and it’s pretty all right on a nice Sunday afternoon after a stroll around the market. If you’re looking for somewhere much cooler to go to in Camden, I’d walk a little further up towards Camden Lock or perhaps take a wee stroll down Inverness Street. This is merely a pub of convenience as opposed to anything mind blowing.

The Buck’s Head is just your average pub really, there’s nothing outstanding or unique about it and as a pub in Camden this is quite surprising! I don’t really know how it competes with the other bars like the Lock Tavern or The World’s End to name but two great pubs in the same area. I guess the only reason is because it’s in the middle of the high street so they’re bound to get customers. I think this may be the reason why they don’t try anything new or have anything creative about the pub. They have a roof terrace but it’s nothing special, in fact it’s pretty dire to be honest. Having said this I don’t want to do the staff a disservice as in my experience they were friendly and chatty. The food was also cheap and fairly tasty for pub grub with a quick service.

A middle of the road pub in Camden, literally. Half way between the tube and the lock. Its slightly soulless and the stairs up the roof terrace feel like you’re ascending to some crack den. And the terrace itself is quite grotty. On a windy day it is possible to be garrotted by the terrace roofing. Having said these nasty things, the food is cheap and tasty enough for the price. A great pub for a lunch break, because the food always comes quickly. Th two for one lunch menu is good, although not as good as it used to be! Best thing to do is not expect much and you will be pleasantly satisfied.

Not the worst pub in the world, or in Camden, but after a refurb has lost a bit of character. It’s a bit too clean, and a bit too much like a ‘spoons. On the plus side, there is a roof terrace for smokers, there’s London Pride on which is reasonably well kept, and it’s not that expensive. I won’t be hurrying back, but the single pint I had here was ok.
