Even though the quest for a cheap hairdresser in Edinburgh continues, I am really happy with the service I had here. It was a few days before Christmas and asked if there was a spot later that day for a cut and blowdry and lucky me, there was. As the last customer of the day, I was sat down and asked if I wanted a coffee, tea or Bucks fizz(if it’s like this after Christmas as well, i’ll definitely be back!). My hair was washed professionally, and the hairdresser gave advice on what I should do with my hair. She noticed quite well I wasn’t a superchatty person, so the chitchat was kept to a minimum. She finished my hair quickly, blowdried it and added a few curls to it. £40 poorer(ouch) and with a smile on my face, I left the shop again.

I’ve been going to Murdo Macleans for nearly 4 years, and will continue for many more to come. I originally went in to ask for help after a well known chain of hairdresser completely ruined my hair with the worst dye job ever, 2 months before my wedding. I am eternally grateful to the staff in Murdo McCleans for fixing it for me!!! Whilst the cost of hair care is quite expensive, I think it is quite competitive compared to other salons in Edinburgh. The staff are friendly and attentive, and in my experience they have taken their time to do the job properly. You can have refills of tea/coffee/soft drinks as you require them, I find the experience of getting my hair done a very enjoyable one! The salon also offers a waxing/nail bar/eyelash extension service, so it’s not just hair care that is catered for.
