I’ve had two hair cuts by Oliver now, and he is worth his weight in gold! He has a special knack for making you feel as fabulous as you look, by the time you walk out the door. The rest of the staff seem just as lovely and chatty, but in all honesty, my contact with them has been pretty minimal, the way things have worked out. I will abso-posi-lutely be going back for my next haircut!

I’ve just read Lauren G’s review and have to say that my experience couldn’t have been more different! My long mane of hair was starting to look a bit mangy, so I popped in the day of my best friend’s hen night to get it trimmed. The hairdresser was dour, and seemed a little bit pissed off the whole time; like how dare I come into her salon at 4pm on a Friday, anyway? She decided to curl my hair, so that it would have a little bit extra volume for the party. Although I told her oh say 3 times that the party itself was tomorrow, that evening was just the girls getting to know each other and sitting around an apartment. She curled it anyway, said she was doing it a little tighter so it would last. £42 and ten minutes later, the curls were gone and I noticed that the cut was basically unnoticable. I asked for layers, there were no layers. No attempt at a fringe; in fact the front of my hair was exactly the same as when I came in. Absolute waste of money, certainly won’t be back!

If you go to Pride for you haircut, you will definitely come out proud! Situated in Thistle Street, Pride is right in the heart of the New Town area of Edinburgh and it is just around the corner from the main shopping street, Princes Street, and so it is a convenient place to reach. This place was recommended to me by a friend, and so I came here last month to get my haircut and I was really pleased with the outcome. My hairdresser was lovely and took plenty of time to consult with me over precisely what it was I was after and so I felt completely at ease in her hand. They washed my hair in gorgeous smelling shampoo which made my hair feel super soft for days after. My haircut was even better than I had imagined and my hair look fabulous! The haircut and blow dry came to about £30, so it was pretty pricey and so I would not come here all the time to get my hair done, but once in a while it is definitely worth it. Pride also offers a range of beauty therapies, manicures and pedicures, waxing and fake tans — and so whatever your beauty or hair care need, Pride are able to accommodate it.
