Decent but pricey food… felt like a bad fast food place that was trying to change menu items… Had a hard time picking what was available from the menu, maybe it’s because we we’re there out of season, but give us a break! If you don’t have it why keep it on menu?

I cannot for the life of me fathom these five star reviews, either I was extremely unlucky or they’ve gone appallingly down hill since the last review. Ordered a pizza tropicana and a pizza carnoso with dough balls and ribs as sides. From the previous reviews I was expecting artisan, authentic type pizzas, but alas, I should have spared my money and gone to golden grill if I knew I would be getting cardboardy based, plastic muck. The carnoso was supposed to have chicken, ham, and ‘Italian bacon’ on it but all you could make out were a couple of hammy coloured, rubbery specs. The tropicana resembled its namesake a touch more than the carnoso, but was equally flavourless. Carrying on with the ‘flavourless theme’, the ribs were cooked nicely, juicy, tender meat that(almost) fell off the bone, but they had managed to do it a grave mis-justice by plonking it in a strange, oily brown sauce that was supposedly BBQ? It didn’t taste of ANYTHING! Just gloop. How they managed that I’ll never know. The dough balls were soggy. Unbelievably I apparently got a ‘deal’ but it wasn’t the most pleasing £25 I’ve ever spent. As you can probably tell… I won’t be back in a hurry.

Hidden gem. When I moved to Brighton I was living in Hove and found this place on accident because it was close to my flat. The pizza is fresh and the guy there making it is always friendly. Simplicity is key and the pizza always has fresh rocket and fresh mozzarella. If I still lived in England I’d eat this about every day. I have craved this pizza but can’t find anything else like it anywhere.

You can’t go wrong with la Cucina. Fast and delicious, I will certainly be ordering again soon.

Can’t add much to what has been written previously. My wife’s local family put us on to this place, for which we are grateful. Slightly off the beaten track for us but well worth the effort. Great taste

The best Pizza in Brighton, di Parma is my favourite, they even deliver the rocket on the side so that it doesn’t wilt. Sexy!

I normally make my own pizzas because normal takeaway pizzas don’t do it for me but having tried La Cicina’s pizzas I have altered my own recipe and would recommend you go there if you’re not up to making your own. So much better that the Pizza Hut stodge.

Of all of Brighton’s takeaway joints(and there are a fair few), La Cucina has been a fast favourite of mine for a good couple of years now. Specialising and dealing predominantly in pizzas, La Cucina takes a bit longer than most other takeaway places, but it so very worth it: the pizzas are cheaper than your Dominos or Pizza Expresses, and much, much nicer: thin crust, traditionally made, and not covered in topping. They used to do a deal for a pizza, a salad and a drink for a tenner: a great service! The food here isn’t quite as over the top as Dominos, but it is far more qualitative. The pizzas are traditionally thin, stretched crust with a variety of lovely toppings, which are never overstuffed: a nice balance between cheap corner-shop pizzas and their 4 slices of pepperoni and a gargantuan Dominos extravaganza. Ordering from here actually doesn’t feel like a treat, it’s just an alternative to a home-cooked meal. Their service may not be the speediest, but the wait is worth it: if you’re a frequent pizza orderer, think about switching to these guys: it is worth it for your wallet and your waistline!

If you thought takeaway pizza meant Dominos, then think again. Authentic, thin Italian style bases, a great range of toppings and excellent flavours with good ingredients. I’d be more than happy to be served these pizzas in an Italian restaurant. Prices are good too — under £8 for an 11 inch, with special deals as well(we got 211 inchers for £10.99) Unlike many takeaways, it’s no hassle to order by phone either — they are actually capable of understanding your address and order without the need for numerous repeating!

They ranted, they raved and finally they took me to La Cucina. I had heard so much about this place before sampling the pizza, that it felt like a momentous day when one hungover Sunday afternoon, I finally dragged myself to La Cucina… When a place has been heralded the ‘holy grail of pizza’(by multiple friends), it has a lot to live up to. In fact, it’s sort of bound to fail in some small way. At La Cucina it’s the dough– although the base is perfectly thin and crispy, it needs a serious injection of salt. There, I said it. That is my only complaint… this is the most authentic Italian pizza I have ever tasted in Brighton. There is a wide selection of toppings, including the standard napolitana, hawaiian(here called tropicana), funghi and fiorentina. As well as these basics they have some really delicious sounding alternatives, such as pesto pollo and the mexicana. I tried the ‘caramelised treat’ and ‘the vegetarian’, the former was tasty but quite intense with goat’s cheese and caramelised onions and the latter was delicious– a pizza with artichoke hearts on it is always a big hit with me! The service is really great and despite my salty issues, I would highly recommend this place on every other score. I’m sort of hoping I went on an off-day and I plan to go back soon to find out!

Good pizza is easy to find. Great pizza is much harder. La Cuccina make truly great pizza. Thin crusted, bubbling topping and just right the amount of ingredients. I’ve tried the napoletana, the di palma, the gamberi and the florentina but my favourite Friday night treat is the vegetable caramelised treat. Gently caramelised red onions, mushrooms, goats cheese and fresh basil. On it’s own it tastes awesome but with the added topping of grilled aubergines… wow! The staff are lovely, the delivery service is great and the 11″ pizzas are so big, they’re perfect for two to three people. Just thinking about it, my tummy is starting to rumble…

Best delivery pizza I’ve ever tasted. Pizza’s are thin crust, but substantial enough for when you have the dirtiest domino’s or pizza hut cravings. Good selection of toppings and quality of ingredients much better than you’d get from most other delivery firms. One large pizza is(just) too much for 2 people, which means generally a leftover slice to eat the next morning Also recommend the homemade pink coleslaw and garlic bread that comes as part of a meal deal.

If it were possible to give La Cucina 4.98 I would. Easily the best delivery pizza in Brighton, a labour of love for the owner and it shows. Generally a longish wait and probably a touch dearer than other pizza joints — however it offers a genuinely delicious crust and fresh, well chosen toppings. The 0.02 I’m churlishly docking for the use of marinated anchovies — more expensive than the tinned kind, but not as authentic or tasty. See how low I have to go to find something bad to say? Bonus points for delivering to the pub next door — which is handy as there is nowhere to sit in La C itself. There is something decadent about having a pizza delivered to a particular table in a pub.
