A great addition to the Belfast food scene.
Healthy food and it tastes great — what’s not to like! Tony & Jen’s is a lovely little eaterie on the Lisburn Road, boasting rustic looking décor but full of style and swagger. The staff were very friendly and well informed about the food they were serving and when I had extra questions, I got speaking to Jen herself and she waxed lyrical about not only the quality of the food itself, but also the taste.
I had a breakfast muffin, a delightful, tasty, egg and salad roll packed with goodness and with more flavour than the McDonalds equivalent but less than half the fat and calories. And I followed this up with a chicken salad to go, which again oozed flavour and freshness. The prices are slightly higher than other equivalents (having said that, there isn’t really an equivalent out there) but when you know you are getting quality, healthy, local ingredients and that this much care went into making the food, it’s a small premium worth paying.
Well worth a visit and good luck to all those involved. We need more innovative food places like this!

Such a great sounding menu, and so exciting to read it and think «finally, a restaurant that truly gets healthy eating — and for kids too!»
WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT the reality was. I can honestly say the food has to get zero stars.
I ordered the Thai curry — £5.50, and paid an extra £2 to make it a beef curry. What I got was a small pot of Thai flavoured water, with one piece of meat in it, and a side of rice that was so stuck together I had to use a knife to cut it in to slices!
My sister, who is vegetarian, ordered the «Badass Veggie Salad.» It was in fact, nothing but soggy cabbage, soggy lettuce leaves, with BACON through it.
Portions were laughably small, which we didn’t mind because the food was disgusting. But it was so ridiculously over priced that I actually felt pretty hacked off. Mugs we are not.
Every member of staff we encountered was very friendly and enthusiastic, although understandably since it has just opened, they didn’t seem sure about details of the menu (and didn’t seem to grasp why it was not cool to put bacon in a vegetarian dish).
Won’t be back. What a shame.

Finally a healthy truly healthy food place. Wishing it stays long term. Great service, quirky design, friendly staff.
